AJ, just another question that I am sure I cannot google. The essays have EXTREME word limits I mean I can hardly express my thoughts properly. How serious is the adcom about this? Like for a 500 word essay, I have written 546 words. And I dont know what to cut out !! :S:S If I cut them out it seems as though, the essay is lacking, and if I dont, am confused if the adcom is gonna be pissed Can you please let me know?

It's been a great two months in Atlanta. Block 1 exams just got over last week. Facing challenges everyday. The support system here is amazing though. Professors, admin staff, classmates all are very helpful [especially if you're planning a party ]

I did my Masters in Business and management (1-year Masters in Business but NOT an MBA) from University of Strathlcyde UK and did my engineering before that. Currently gained 2.5 yrs of work exp as a part of Business strategy team at Hyundai Motors.

Like to know 2 things in specific
1. if 1 year MBA program accepts candidates who did their post grads relating to business (Marketing, economics, finance, HR, Operations).In website they have given eligibility as undergrad in the field of business which I am not.

2. How is the job prospects having done MBA at EMory.

My Stats - I did my GMAT well and hope to secure 650-700 range. But when it comes to my undergrads..i happened to secure first class only (63%). I also like to know will my performance at undergrad(engineering) will affect my chances of getting into Emory.

Q1) I think you can apply to one year MBA. get your eligibility confirmed by the admissions office. IMO, 2.5 yrs of work ex is less for the one yer program.

Q2) Dude, for Indians scores are really important. People with a 720 GMAT were wait listed and asked to increase GMAT scores. To overcome your UG % you have to at least score as high as 720.

I will joining the Emory MBA this fall.
