Nope.. I think you are just fine. the jan-15 deadline was only for applications and academic transcripts. But i would recommend you do send you fin docs now.

Thank you dreamdude for your inputs. I have a few more queries. Please help me out with them as well.

I am an applicant for Fall 2011-2013 full time MBA program at GT. I have 2 yrs of experience in IT, UG percentage of 69%, and appearing for GMAT next month. I had a few queries:
1) I have done my +2 from a GA High School. Will that give me any sort of leverage?
2) My UG college has a conversion system between GPA and percentage. GPA of 6.3=69%. So, while filling the application, should i write 6.9 or 6.3 as my gpa?
3) due to some health issues, I had to quit my job (just when I completed 2 yrs) few months back. Now, that I have recovered, I am contributing towards an NGO. Do you think this would count towards work exp in any form?
4) Does applying early ensure a better chance of getting an admit? or, all applications are reviewed only after the deadline of 15th Jan?
5) There is a section in online application where we are supposed to enter our schools and marks obtained. Does the "secondary school" mentioned there, mean high school?

Please note that the recommendation provider being a current GT student will not have any great advantage unless he has a professional association to you
(meaning he worked_with/supervised/managed you at a work place).

However, if you do not have much work experience then you can use and ensure that the recommendation is specific and detailed.

In general it is advisable to select a supervisor/manager at your workplace or clients/customers for whom you would have worked.

Make sure you reflect the Situation Task Action Results (STAR) formulae in your recos.

The interview was straight forward - as in why MBA? why GT? (be as specific as possible for these 2 questions) what are you proud of? what is your biggest disappointment? Pretty much everything else will be from your resume and will be conversational.

@Vineet. I got the decision via voicemail :). I had interviewed on Monday the 19th and they told me they will inform me over the phone the next day. So they did. They wanted me to meet them in person once before they can make any funding decision. So flying to Atlanta this Sunday. Hope I get a tuition waiver.

From the discussions that I had with the admissions director during the interview, she told me Gtech is finding it very difficult to place Intl students and thats the reason they are cutting down heavily on that front. I think the thing that worked in my favor was my US experience. It will be really nice if some more of you guys can get in. Theres still time.

Hey guys...has neone got any updates on i/vs...is there a last date for the final decisions?

its difficult to predict how many of us r there in the same boat...but it seems that GTech is not interested in taking many Indians this year...work experience will be the key to getting an interview invite...I hope we get some positive response soon.

I applied for the 15th Jan deadline and had closed my app on 14th jan.... I have also mailed the admissions director but haven't heard from her yet.....Do u have any idea how many of the people like us who haven't received any updates are there? What I can get from the forum is that only one person has received an interview invite....

@abhi. I did receive an official mail. What I have heard is that they have sharply reduced the no of intl students to just 10%. So its gonna be tough this year.

I finally got an interview call. I had mailed the admissions director about the status of my application. She just got back saying I will be interviewed on the 19th of April and that they will get back with the decision the same week.

"Decision has been made" for me too. Guess it's a ding.

Hey...I guess finally dinged from GaTech...I have been watching the application status quite regularly...today I noticed it has changed to "Decision has been made"....since no i/v invite came, and a "Final Decision has been made" without that, so it must have been a ding :(
My GPA and work ex were both very strong, but GMAT score was pathetic...so was not very hopeful of GaTech anyways! But somehow expected that the rejection will come after an interview :(

But it seems the online status site gets updated after some delay. As, when my scores hadn't reached the schoold I had contacted the AdCom and they replied saying the scores have been received but the site updation will take some time.
