Hi all,
I have a question. I have applied to Fisher but without TOFEL Score. Yesterday I requested for TOFEL waiver but I got a reply saying that only those countries where native language is English are exempt from TOFEL.
Following was my Tofel Request Mail:

I am requesting for TOFEL waiver. Please find the relevant information below:

(1) I have completed my under-graduation at a university where medium of instructions is English. My degree transcripts carry the information about medium of instruction.

(2) Formal language of written and verbal communication at my work place is English,where I regularly interact with my counterparts in United States.

I am using English language for last 11 years. In order to process my application, I request you to consider my request for TOFEL waiver.

Reply from adcom was not intending to waive off the TOFEL. Can anyone suggest what shall I do?

Please suggest me that may help me in getting TOFEL waiver .

Actually I filed like 5-6 weeks ebfore deadline.

I will filling up the form in the second round......need your inputs regarding the second essay of Fisher. I need to know how to formulate the same......means the objects they have demanded to prove my quality etc.

Abhishek, you can just pick two qualities from the list and write an essay on each, describing your experiences on the matter and showing examples.

As far as I understand you can also send objects instead of essays, e.g., a medal for winning a marathon could serve as example of endurance. -)

milestonesforab, a GMAT is always only a part of teh application. IMO, it should be good enough to fit within your peer applicants pool but it's definitely not a single deciding factor. Work exp quality, recommendations, essays are as or more important.

I must mention though, I am not Indian. So not sure how that correlates with their student diversity requirements etc.

- why mba now? why fisher?
- contribution to fisher community
- leadership example
- team work example
- and yeah surprise question was what development in any industry in past 2 yeras did you like the most?

The Fisher College of Business MBA Admissions Committee has reviewed your application for Autumn Quarter, 2010. The committee has decided to review your application among a larger pool of applicants and defer a final decision at this time.

well.. this mail means that you have been put in waitlist. I got a similar mail and when I enquired from the OSU student ambassadors about it, I got a reply that I am in the waitlist and they would be re-reviewing the waitlisted applications after every 6-8 weeks.

I got application complete notification mail from Ohio State Univ on Jan 30th. My application status changed from under review to the following status yesterday, "your application for admission is not approved. you will be informed of the decision by mail."

I havent received any mail from Ohio state so far. Does this mean, my application is rejected or no decision has been taken on my application, i cant understand. Anyone else got similar status for their application?

On this same forum, I see people with similar profile getting iv calls and even admits. Probably my years of exp (5+) sank me in. Because honestly, I do not think my essays were all that bad that I do not even get an iv call.

I applied on 31st dec... my documents reached Columbus on 7th Jan.... my application status changed to 'complete' on 21st January (Dont know...what took so long?)

I am yet to receive any communication from Ohio. Now seeing R2 applicants already getting calls and even admits, my biggest fear is that they might have shifted my application to R3.
