= ~250 interviews in all (1:3/4 depending on # of similar applicants competing for a spot)

Mumbai had 16 on 7th forenoon.. so overall on 7th & 8th, Mumbai panel must have seen around 60 candidates.

In case of 331 Interviews, how many admits would IIM-B release? Would a figure of 125 be realistic considering that atleast 50 candidates would opt for other programmes like IIMA, C, ISB and abroad?

What would be the waitlist like? Any waitlist accepts from the current batch?

My guess would be a initial list of approx 70 candidates - followed by a waitlist for the people who do not turn-up.

I do not think there were any interviews other than in Bangalore and telephonic on 14th/15th.

Also, in Kolkata there was only 1 panel.

Hi buddy, you never posted your interview experience, so what better time than now! :)

I think 331 is a decent pool- slightly better than 1:5 ratio. What it also shows is that real competition begins only after the interview stage (as a majority of applicants seem to have got the interview invites.)

Did you know that over 2500 B-Schools have opened up since year 2000.

In interview schedule email they mentioned that 8 candidates are scheduled for the day.
is that mean that they will interview only 4*8 ( 7&8 nov 14,15 nov) = 48 international candidates. Or they have multiple panel.

Just had my interview.....it lasted for 20mins....as said before know the in and out of the SOP......no typical why MBA...career goal and all....panel was very polite and relaxed....all questions were related to my work profile and SOP.....btw look around the IIMB campus...u will enjoy the movie ' three idiots' more.....all the best to tomorrows candidates.....

Just finished my Tel-interview: Duration 20mins, Panel: 3 including one alumni

Just finished my tele-interview.

Duration was only 13 min.
All question from my SOP. I think I answered them pretty well. They read the SOP in detail. so read every word and ready for question.

Just as indication, last year we have approx 50-50 split between IIMB and IIMC and 75-25 split between IIMB and ISB....
Disclaimer - I have not counted the numbers again... top of the mind numbers based on the data i collected last year

Just a clarification, do you mean to say that, out of 100 people who got offer from both IIMB and ISB - 75 joined IIMB and 25 joined ISB?

My guess is that you will have results well before 1st Dec and you will have enough time to make an informed choice between PGPEX and EPGP.

The interest rate depends on which bank you are taking the loan from. Repayment period depends on the bank as well as your personal choice - mostly you can vary it between 5 to 7 years.

The additional question which I have is whether it is better to take loan from the branch in my hometown or from the branch at/near IIMB. But I guess it is still more than 2 weeks to start thinking about that.:lookround:

Our experience was that Loan from branch near IIMB was far easier than Loan from any branch from home town. Need not worry, we were able to get very good deals last year in midst of the crisis. You should be in a much better situation this year.

I do not think there is much of difference between IIMC & IIMB. IIMC has advantage in terms of fees, its fees is quite less as compared to IIMB

1) Marksheets from std 10 to the highest class attended and Degree Certs
2) Experience letter from the company where you were working
3) Your last 3 months Payslips and Form 16 and
4) If you have taken an education loan then you need to produce the Bank Sanction letter.

Now I am not sure if they involve an external agency to verify the docs, but they did keep docs with them for about a month. Hope this is fine.

Had my intervew yesterday. I was last one to be interviewed. Panel of 3 (2 prof and lady looked like an alum) was waiting for me when I entered the room.

They asked me about my profile and how does EPGP will help me in my career. They kep asking me EPGP, why Bangalore (after I told them that have IIMA admit), why MBA in one form or the other. They asked for expected salary after the course. In between they also talked about my product and its nitty gritties.

In the end they asked me whether I have any questions. When I asked the question on emerging market focus, they refused to answer me (so arrogant :sneaky:). I asked it in various forms but they didn't asnwer my question.

Whole experience lasted for 30-35 minutes. All in all good experience.

Had my interview at 8th Nov 11.30 am in Mumbai. 2 panels of 3 person (presumably 2 profs and 1 alumni) were conducting the interviews. Around 14 people had their interviews in the morning session (not sure if anybody came after I left). It was very pleasant to meet a lot of people there as I met Brijesh, Varun, Nilesh (forgot a few names, sorry). Guys post your interview experiences as well. The interview was cordial with lots of questioning. Cordial because I felt the reason for questions was they wanted to find out the real reasons of the answers that I gave. I would say the panel was really very informed and can see through your answers. The questions were:
1) The alumni I felt had gone through the SOP thoroughly and noted points to question. He put some questions from my SOP.
2) Was quality compromised anytime at work?
3) A Case study for poverty eradication
4) Hobbies
5) Any questions

Went for around 35 mins. One of the Profs played the role of distractor in the interview and showed her disinterest. ATB to all.

I did my interview on 8th morning 10am in Chennai. There were 2 candidates waiting ( 1M + 1 F ) and while i was waiting 1 F candidate came out of the interview room. There were no other candidate after me ( unless they came after i had left the venue ). One interview panel with 3 ppl ( all M ). Interview was cordial and not really trying to stress you out.

I was interviewed in Delhi.
I also asked for Certificates Evaluation and I was told that it will be done later by the college.

All certificates will be thoroughly checked once you join the course....so dont worry about that....

This year IIM-B has changed the i/v pattern it seems. When I went through last year's thread on i/v experiences, it was some what cooler than current year i/v. There must be some logic in doing that. I hope there is one more schedule for interview on Nov14 and Nov 15. BTW, why it is one month for results?

finished my iv at blr iimb .
Here is the iv exp.

the iv q's were very general and related to my field and panel members were very friendly. I guess all the three members of the panel were faculty members (but not very sure as they just introduced themselves by their names).

1.Started with queries about my field of work - a lot of cross q's came from this part.
2. Why EPGP ?
3. competitiveness of the indian industry(especially my industry) in global scenario
4. few q's cropped from SOP. They were well informed with the SOP.
5.finally any q's from my side

overall it was a good and friendly discussion and there were no signs of stress iv and it was for around 20 min approx.

i wish all the best for the guys who r having their iv next week.

now its long wait for the results

Had my interview at Delhi in the afternoon slot. A pleasant experience- questions restricted to my field of work, no stress. Had to answer the expected one - How is the MBA going to help you? Overall a very casual conversation.

Hi guys, had my interview today at Delhi- 2pm slot. Met brandmanager, another puy, for a brief while before I was called in by the panel (nice to meet you buddy, do post your experience asap!)

2 senior faculty in my panel and they pleasantly shook hands and introduced themselves. It was a short interview- maybe 10-15 minutes and everything went quite cordial and no signs of any stress testing at all. Questions asked-

1. About my current company- a lot of related questions followed
2. My current industry- related questions
3. One of my previous employers (a unique experience)- some related questions
4. Why EPGP?
5. Which industry I want to move into after EPGP?

Finally they let me ask questions. Overall a very nice feeling- the interview went quite well and save for an occasional betrayal of nervousness I feel I did well. Now anxiously waiting for the results!

Certificates are not being asked for....but DO carry them.....

I had mine at Mumbai today morning. I noticed candidates were asked to report at 8:30 and 10. There were 2 panels. I didnt see any IIMB Admin staff outside the panel.

My interview was SOP and industry experiences and trends based. The panel does go through your SOP in detail. It must have lasted 20 mins.

No typical Why MBA? Why EPGP questions which got me confused. I was told about the academic rigor and amount of reading required and asked how prepared I am for that.

At the end when I asked if someone was going to verify my certificates, I was told it will be done later. Did everyone else get the same response regarding certificate verification? In some posts, I read the verification was done prior to the interview which confuses me and to an extent worries me.

Yes, in my case as well, in the end i offered to show them the certificates. But they politely refused. I thot at that time, may be it is their way of saying, "Man we wud only like to see the certs for the person we intend to take" hahahaha ..

But it seems they did not see the certs of anyone. Then why shud IIMB ask the candidates to bring whole lot of original certs to the i/v. It is not a gud idea to tell the candidates to take the risk of carrying all their life's orig certs, just to tell them THANKS later on.
