UK Tier 1 Post Study Work Visa may end

I also talked to some of the cranfield alumni in UK who also confirmed the news that PSW visa might end this April. Though it's not official yet.

The mail that i recd from cranfield has links to the UK BA site. It still permits PSW for 2 yrs, there is no change on that, at least in the UK BA site.I think you gp as a Tier 4 adult student and then need to apply for Tier 1 03 months before completion of MBA:-P

I checked with the school. The scolarship meeting will be held on 2nd Feb'2011. So the decision is still pending for those who got admitted.

Does anyone has any update/thought on the UK post study Work (PSW) Visa? If they don't allow PSW visa then is there anyone who is going to deny the offer?

If you have great leadership experience and compelling essays/recos/resume, then you have a good chance. Presentation of your application would be key.

1. How long it takes to get final offer from the date of submission of application.
2. How the interview is taken - over phone or Skype.
3.What is the total cost inclusive everything..
4.Job prospect post MBA
5. % of indian students - rough cut .
6.Total number of intake is 150 or more

That could be an opinion, but at-least statistics in Cranfield tell a different story, moreover if you look at MBA as the expert training in a particular field, which is mostly done in an M.Sc here in Cranfield, then your point looks more acceptable.

I agree with most of what you said. However, I think if you want to make a career switch 1 year program is not appropriate.

Cranfield is stong in personality and soft skill courses as well as has the UK advantage.
Ceibs is ranked in top 10 and is the Harvard of China,but has low visibility outside. Plus the cultural issue after MBA.
Trying to find alums but not much success here. Lets see.. :-(

my essay was whether society would have been better off without automobiles.

Interview Experience:

I had my interview with Mr. Sean Rickard. The first half of the interview was basically on the essay, he was asking lots of questions to verify my understanding on the essay topic.
After about 15 minutes he changed the topic to India China's economy and asked few questions based on the response that I had given.
And then that the topic got changed to why Cranfield, How would I contribute to the class etc. Finally it was my chance to ask question. Overall the interview lasted for about 35-40 minutes.

I got an admit from Cranfield too and have recieved the mail for hostel accomodation as well.
However, i have also gotten thru CEIBS at Shanghai and now I am in a dilemma.

Shanghai will have language issues while London has sizeable Indian population (after college I gotta wrk abroad to repay loans). to add to this, there is this language barrier in Shanghai. BUT, CEIBS is ranked way higher and has same visiting faculty as ISB (Wharton, Kelloggs etc)

Can anyone please advise?

I agree with Bhavya on this. CEIBS is a good college too. So try and talk to as many alumns possible. Also, check the courses / electives that they offer. You never know, it might help you decide.

Anyways, HSBC's studies loan is actually one of the key attractions of cranfield - ease of loan availability, highly reduced rates of interest (about 3.25%), etc. Many of current Indian students, including me, have taken HSBC loan. Now the bad news - they are currently reviewing their students loan policy and may or may not continue with this arrangement for cranfield - blame the recession. However, cranfield is still in discussion with them and we only hope to see some positive results.

Keep looking at Indian banks as many Indian students have availed that too + Credila is another source.

Going by the current age group of the batch and the focus of Cranfield, I would say it would fit people with about 6+ years of experience more than younger students. Remember Cranfield focuses on personal development and does not focus on making specialists (even though there are very good elective modules).

GM and industry are its core strengths. They have rolling adms so the earlier u apply, the better. Schols are awarded in end Jan though. No idea about 4 yrs exp. Cranfield site has a feature where u can submit your particulars for an assessment of your eligibility, Try that, they reply in 24 h.

Cranfield MBA is for older applicants (age 30+) with considerable work experience. Normally they take people with about 8 years exp. It is strong in strat. I understand that for finance/IB, it offers an M Sc in Fin and Banking. Have a look at these
