@quan11287: Keep no illusions, it will cost more than you are thinking right now. Going for informational interviews - sometimes out of town, case competitions, networking events at expensive bars and restaurants...these incidental costs tend to add up. Although that does get offset if you get a good internship. An average internship would bring in about 30$ an hour (40 hrs a week, 8 weeks, you can do the math) Minneapolis is cheaper than the coasts or Chicago, but it is still a fairly expensive city.
It is tougher for international students, but it is not impossible to get a good job, by a fair distance. I have gone through it before and I wasn't too worried. As long as you apply to big companies, they don't distinguish between american and international people, because they have the money and the support staff to work the visa issues out.
The tough part is getting the green card. That process gives a lot of headaches. I don't plan on getting one, as I want to move back to India after a few years there.
Regarding me not being considered that much of an alien, well - I look like an Indian, speak like an Indian and my passport says I am Indian - so I won't be too different from you. The only place I might have an edge is that I understand the culture there so it'll be relatively easy to network.
Rest is up to you. I hope you make an informed decision.
