Most successful businesses start off moonlighting so don't worry about it. It will be a huge advantage to articulate the entrepreneurship story well. BSchools love someone who has the energy and drive to go the extra mile.

IMO with over 12+ years experience I don't think a HULT/ RSM/ Thunderbird would give you want you want from an MBA.
I suggest you retake the GMAT and give a shot to schools which are ranked a bit higher, and where you can leverage your experience fully.

If we are talking about a 100-point difference between the expected and actual scores, then I'd say go for a re-take and claim what you deserve.
With a substantially higher GMAT score, the options you'd be looking at would be very different.

The adcom would not be concerned about the conflict of interest - its infact a plus for you to talk about in your applications- shows entrepreneurial instincts. And if this website is in the direction of what you want to do further in your career, you could weave it into your career goals essays....

Devilmaycry, Congratulations on the great GMAT score. I would say that don't get bothered by your AWA scores too much - you still have a great verbal percentile, as well as well crafted and written essays will take care of it.

If you are able to communicate your message in less words than more, thats a great skill to have. Concise and crisp communication is less than common in our business environment. That is true. Such programs require you to be very good at math. Don't bother about 10th and 12th. What were your grades in the quant courses at College? What about your College pedigree? i.e. how hard is it to get in? All these things do matter.

Tough, but not impossible. There'd be a ton of folks trying to do the same. Apart from getting into a strong brand school, you'd have to excel at the art of networking. The choice of firms you approach will also matter.
