I would say that is a myth. Check out the Class profile of any school that you target and see for yourself. You will often see that only 20-30% of batch consists of engineers, which certainly means they are not preferred. Most of the international B schools look for diversity in their classrooms and recruit a well balanced class and certainly not biased towards engineers.

PS: I am an engineer too and I seriously wish that what you stated was not a myth. It would have fancied my chances at the B Schools.
