READ IN A STUDENTS BLOG THAT AFTER 200 DAYS OF MBA PROG
THERE IS EVALUATION ON ITS BASIS PEOPLE ARE THROWN OFFFF?????.
as far as i know no other inst in india except IIFT does this.
lets get realistic gather some data from alumni and current students, this is another dimension that needs to discussed, i strongly urge all to gather data as soon as possible on following issues-
1) evaluation details - i invite raqudenn to pls clarify bec getting thrown off is big issue.
2) finance focus - what i could gather is that AIM is TAXING tooo much on finance , PLS advice whether people with no finance back ground should take some course. before joining.
3) calling all old and new members to focus on exact stats about placement in monetary terms so that R O I can be calculated on realistic basis .
FOCUS GUYS RATHER AIR TICKETS AND PCCC focus on these issues.

@dentico29
Yeah u ar right that ppl are being thrown out .... but I guess that means that u hv to consistently perform out there ...... u just can't sit back on ur 98% OR 7XX IN GMAT .....
MBA course is tough , and that too a 16 `months one is expected to be tougher .....
I have been talking to lot of ppl (past alumin and present students also) and all of them ar satisfied ...no one ever told me that they are not happy with the course and curriculum .
But none of teh alumni brought out the fact that ppl are being thrown out in m ddle of the semester . I expect that may be because it must be a rare case ( even in IIMs or any other Bschool if u don't hv the required CGPA u are required to repeat a year )
About ur finance question ..... yeah only around 10% of the ppl pass out with that specialization coz to get FIN major u hv to clear FRM or CFA-1 along with ur regular study and ur MRR has to be in Finance . Its a tough task but achievable . I was talking to a lady from 2005 passout , she is in a high position in deutche bank . She passed out in general mgmt but she wanted to get a job in finance and she got it.
At her time she had to look for job in singapore, within 3 months she got jobs in singapore and India etc No campus placement (According to her at her time u had to look for job on ur own .. but u get it eventually)
If u ar frm non-fin background u can always pick up some book for financial mgmt and start from it in ur spare it . It will help u a lot if u can do some accounting study beforehand.
And yeah , if we ar going to AIM , we hv to go out with the mindset that we hv to fend for ourself , there will be no jobs on platter like in India . To be frank IN India bschool is everything abt placement . Abroad it is different . I was talking to friends who hv studied frm IIMs and SPJIMR in india and hv come to the conclusion that faculty wise AIM is much much better ( no offence meant to anyone )
Well i am awaiting SPjain , bombay results but I hv made up my mind that I will join AIM . And having worked for 2 yrs in IT industry , I am confident that I can anyday land up with a good job .
Another thing that we should also look is tha MBA is not for a short term ROI , it is a long term commitment and will help u in the long term .
PM me if u want the details of alumni and present students.
HAppy Holi to everyone !!
