Dear Sir -- Today, all the leading business schools across the world are accepting GRE scores as as a substitute for GMAT scores (c.f.

GRE Revised General Test: MBA Programs that Accept the GRE

). This list includes Harvard, Stanford, INSEAD and every other top-ranked MBA program in the world. However, I notice that ISB is not on this list. Does this mean that you are not willing to consider candidates based on GRE scores?

Currently we accept only GMAT.

Hi,

I have completed my graduation degree from a Distance Learning university. By the time I become eligible to apply at ISB, I will have completed my Masters degree course from a Distance Learning university while working and gaining experience.

1) I would like to know how does ISB look at Distance Learning university graduates?

2) Can I offset the fact of the degree being through Distance Learning by getting a High GMAT score to prove my academic capabilities, meaningful work-ex & ECA's?

You don't have to offset anything. Your distance learning degree will be given all consideration. However, you should not ignore the rest of your application - esp your essays and interview as these help us understand your self awareness, clarity of purpose and other strengths that you bring as candidate.

Some of the folks waitlisted for Co'14 batch were given admits on March 6, 2012 mainly for the Hyderabad campus. Post that day, no reported admits or rejections have been noticed on Pagalguy.

On behalf of all the waitlisted guys on Pagalguy ISB forum, I request you to clarify the below written query:

Last day for depositing confirmation fee was on 2nd March; accordingly some admits were rolled out on 6th March. Are there any pending results that ISB plans to roll out soon? Whether yes\no, when can the rest of the waitlisted fellows expect to hear from ISB (acceptance or rejection) ?

Very few offers may still be rolled out depending on acceptances for valid outstanding offers - I am sure you will appreciate that it is not possible to predict this to any degree of accuracy . We appreciate the efforts all applicants took to prepare their applications and due to this we receive a lot of strong candidates; but we are forced to select only what our class size permits.

I recommend you call our counselling team to discuss your questions and get a few pointers on how you can create a strong application. If you are a driven candidate and really know how to leverage an MBA, chances are that this will show through in your application as self awareness and clarity of purpose - which are a couple of key leadership attributes.

First of all thank you for taking this initiative and directly replying to aspirants' queries.

I would like to know that by what date can the waitlisted guys expect an email regarding their application status. The earlier email mentioned third week of March which is too open ended.

If I go by the last year's thread, we can expect mails starting March 6th upto March 20th. Does this hold true for this year as well?

when a candidate with 90+ 10th and 12th score, decent extra curriculars, 700+ gmat score, 8cgpa (B.E) applies for ylp, will the 8 cgpa considered as a low score as people from other backgrounds might have better scores in their under graduation.

This is not unusual and we have several candidates each class who have done another MBA previously. It is not held against the candidate in any way, unless of course you have an MBA from a top 5 global B-school You should however answer the question 'why another MBA' explicitly in a couple of lines when you compose your essays. We are looking for your thought process and clarity in why you feel you need to do ISB's program. We understand that sometimes candidates may have done their MBA too early or not joined a program that provided the learning & mindset transformation that is necessary for achieving your professional & personal aspirations.

12 is the number of medical doctors - rest of the 3% are from pharma, biotech sectors. Apologies on the late reply to your initial query. Please don't read too much into the patterns of students in each class; while we welcome all professions, medical doctors and healthcare included, to apply for our program fact of the matter is that we cannot (and do not want to) compel any profession to apply ! The strongest MBA candidate is one who knows why and when they need an MBA. In addition, selection is made solely on the basis of overall strength of a candidate as we cannot lower selection standards regardless of diversity of any candidate.
