reachmonil posted 12:05 PM, 08 Nov '07 Just a last word from me. Please go through all the practice tests once more. We will very shortly close this thread. Once again - Many many best wishes for CAT :-) Do stay in touch. If it is not closed,in near future when we would not be frequent here, spam would increase with non qqad problems and discussions mainly from the ignorant newbies. What is advised is that you open a new thread with the name "QQAD-07 Revisited" and continue the discussions there itself. I hope that would be a non issue:) All the best to everyone for cracking not just Quant but all the sections of CAT 2007. The only thing I would say is that it has been a superb experience driving QQAD along with Aarav sir and must say a very tough job. [smiley] My thanks to all the people who ever took part in the discussions here on QQAD threads and also the pagalguy team to assist us at times on technical front. We had some incredible discussion sessions here and those have undoubtedly added to the le... Read More » -

abhrabumba posted 04:31 PM, 29 Oct '07 hi answer for question 2 is given as b and for question 3 it is given as b. can some body please explain why option c is wrong for question 2...also why is option a wrong for question 3...these passages have been taken from this thread only...(page 30) Hi...can anybody explain why option b and not c is the answer for ques 2?. McKinsey is mentioned in the passage. So wouldn't it be an appropriate option?...The only way I see, for arriving at option C is that, the very next sentence says something about "help". Is it for this option c (since it tals about aids and loans) fits in better?....Then how come McKinsey come into picture?? -

It combined a hugely productive economic system with a broadly responsive and widely admired political system. America in those years achieved its highest degree of income equality (since measurements have been available). It generated a larger proportion of good-paying jobs than before or since, and more economic security than ever for more of its people. Perhaps not coincidentally, in those years Americans also expressed high confidence in democracy and trust in government, both of which sharply declined in subsequent years. That singular success and that powerful promise extended the moral authority of the American system throughout the world. In contrast to Soviet communism, Ame... Read More » -

varun_nakra1 posted 01:36 PM, 23 Oct '07 Let the side of the longer base be x and that of the shorter one be y..and the length of the equal sides be a..Now using Ptolemy's theorem x^2 = xy + a^2 =>x = / 2 Since x is an integer, y^2 + 4a^2 = k^2 and x = (y +/- k)/2 Also x>y => k>y and x= (y+k)/2 Also both y and k should be of the same parity,i.e. both even or both odd... Considering, y=2m and k=2n we get x=m+n and m^2 + a^2 = n^2...Now the smallest possible such triplet with integer values is (3,4,5)..THis gives the smaller value of x = 8 and y=6 but a=4 which is 2 Considering, y=2m+1 and k=2n+1 we get x=m+n+1 and a^2 = (n-m)(n+m+1)...Now the smallest possible such triplet with integer values is n=2 and m=1..THis gives the smaller value of x = 4 and y=3 but a=2 which is less than y which is not possible..so lemme think further....here a>2m+1 -

nikhilkulk posted 02:05 AM, 18 Oct '07 After calculating amount of time she remain outside i.e 360/13, i.e. angle b/w hands is 360/13. start time = time when hands meet + time to make angle b/w hands 360/13 Next time hands meet when time is 4 4/11 i.e 48/11 hr = 2880/11 min. For every 1 min angle b/w hands changes by 5.5 degrees. ? ---------------> 360/13 degrees = 720/143 min Therefore, 720/143 + 2880/11 = 266.85 min = 4 hr 26.85min. anybody please correct me if any mistake...... Please look at the date of the last post.. It is more than 2 years old :) Feel free to check out the other threads in the section for more problems :D Thread Locked ~Nikhil -
