Bad news: Vijendra Singh is out of contention for Gold and Silver as he lost the semi final match to an English player. His opponent didn't earn any point. If fact Vijendra was leading by 3 points in the final round. He was penalised for committing 2 fouls (one foul equals 2 points to the opponent). The last foul he committed was when only 10 sec remained for the bout to finish.

In Individual Badminton Mixed doubles pair of J Gutta and V Diju lost to the Malaysian pair, their nemesis in the team event.

Great News: Women's discus throw competition was clean sweeped by the Indian women. Puniya Krishna (Gold), Harwant Kaur (Silver) and Seema Antil (Bronze) won the top three spot.
