I guess whether virginity matters or not is a relative thing.....For me it matters, not that just my Better half shd be a virgin (although i admit its hell difficult to find it out ... but i guess honesty and trust plays a part here) , but even for me.......its absolutely important to keep my Virginity "intact" till my meet my better half ......

a really interesting and a controversial topic to start with for a newbie..but my say is dat it really doesn't matter if ur partner is a virgin or not..coz many a times women do lose their virginity w/o s**..so just takin a decision to marry a person coz dat one is a virgin or not is crap..no wonder its truly said dat 'all dat glitters aint gold'..and moreover its the honesty and committment dat truly counts in a relation..many a times people do learn from their past experiences(good or bad)..so be happy of the fact dat ur partner is an xperienced mate ..be happy wid dat and njoi life..but sincerely its outrageous to decide for a marriage on this virginity basis...!good topic by the way!

my personal views are : it doesnt matter if u r a virgin...but only if u r honest to let u r partner know about it!..a relationship is built upon trust and if u are not building the very base of a relationship, then it will most definitely crash!...The point is if a person has had a physical relationship in his/her past, then he/she need to ask oneself whether it was just for fun/pleasure or was it truely out of love... we have heard stories of one night stands...I am totally against ONE NIGHT STANDS...just to satisfy ur carnal desires u cant go on sleeping around with every other person. COming back to the point i wud say if u had a physical relationship in the past which did not work out for some reasons, and if u r honest enough to confess it to u r future partner then i feel there shud be no problems with accepting the fact for both the partners. But the question is something else..Shud past be a consideration wen it comes to getting married??Now again, it depends on a number of other things. If everything else is fine, i dont think that this factor shud be a problem for me.( or for the one i finally settle down with)

I agree with Kaun that virginity is a subjective issue. When I was looking to get married to an Indian girl in India, virginity was a qualifier (though I had no way to confirm). However the virginity was no big deal when I was looking for marriage with Indian girls ABCDs in US. On the other end, marrying a widow was acceptable but celibacy was a mandated requirement in unmarried girls. Pre-marital physical r'ships are considered taboo in India and the idea is that if someone has good resistance towards physical desires that are unacceptable in our society before marriage, chances are good that it will stay that way after marriage. Do I think thats it can be taken as guarantee - No - but it definitely increases the odds.

Virgin or non- virgin doesnt really matter to me.
To me, wat matters is honesty. U cannot really determine chastity of a woman or man based on her or his past.
I gues its got a lot to do with the kind of environment u have grown up in.

I also believe the same. In fact, unless the other man/woman 'admits' him/herself about it, chances are less that you can know whether he/she is virgin or not. And if he/she admits, nothing is better than that as you are lucky to have got an honest partner.
