For me the following act of mine was My Best Mistake.....

I was in concealing after 12th to get into one of the BE colg in gujarat.
My slot was the last batch for that year(2007).
My father wanted to see me as a software engg bt i wanted to go for manufacturing sector(mech or automobiles ...)
My turn came i had an option to take between EEE,EC,CE,CIVIL&METALLURGY;(i know most of u might not heard about it and no option of mech or auto)
I asked the concealer to lock metallurgy (from ahmedabad ...i dn't wanted to go far from home)

We came back home my dad was upset with my act has i didn't informed him anything till we reached home...
I started with my studies back in my mind i was thinking same as my dad i did a mistake..
i was like KYA PADH RAHA hu METALLURGY KOI NAHI JANTA KYA HOTI HAI METALLURGY....MISTAKE BIG MISTAKE HUGE MISTAKE .....
MUJHE NAUKARI BHI nahi milegi()

But i never told my parents ....i dn't wanted to waste his money ......i continued with that ......after first year (getting poor result).
I tried to search about metallurgy ...even came to know that my one of the relative is also metallurgist....i started collecting information's from him .....and mean while i was liking subjects ....like transport phenomenon ....fluid mechanics ...steel making

By the time i was in final year 7thsem i was feeling proud to be a metallurgist.
My seniors got placed (100% placement , it was a surprise for all over that a branch which is not familiar within student got fully placed) .
And my batch too except few wanna go for higher studies .

Now i think i did a right mistake ...u can call it as best one;):D:D
my father is also happy now ....

You might think of changing it as Sis ;)

nice q's,i earned it at very young age,when i was in class 9th,ya one man came to our mill for cattle-feed and we did not have it so my brother sent him,and as he was leavingi asked him how much he wanted he said 25 quintals ok so i said wait i may help you and i rang to one other mill in our town and he said he had 30 quintals and if i take all he will give at 890/quintal.so i took all and sold him all 30 quintals at 940 and told that miller that to tell him the price at 940 and i just told him the address and he went there and took it,and i went at evening and got my 1500rs+5*30=1650 bucks, and that was something great and that was the first and the only time my parents were proud of me.

P.s-all must be wondering about that 5*30=150,ya that was brokerage,and i did not leave that also.

When i was in school we had gone to mahabaleshwar for vacation and there was a mini casino type place there,I dunno how I was allowed but i played there, and won a lot :p

the coins were makin a lot of noise and all the ppl were lookin at me, lol. Technically this is the 1st time I Made money

this goes way back to the time wen i was kid ( class 3rd, age around : 6-7 ) and was sent to live in hostel. the hostel was a weird place with three big halls where students were divided according to their classes. so mine had more or less the students of my size ! in the evening we were taken to iskool's play ground where there used to b diffrent chaat wala and ice cream walas. since i was a kid my parent used to give pocket money to my warden who was a very big kharoosh!

so one day i decided i need to make my own money! i had some balloons which i had brought with me so i started selling them for small one - 50 paise, big ones 1 rupees. and back that time 2-3 ruppes per day were enough for getting one round of gol-gappaas (* believe they were super tasty ) .

anyway it didnot go well wen warden came to know bt it and she made a such an hue and cry as if she has busted some big racket .

but it still does bring smile and tears wen i remember.

My explanation to mistake part of it is that falling in love is/was never a mistake its not a mistake...and it was never a mistake its the 'best mistake' for having some presumptions in mind which i will now call a mistake and going beyond that presumptions was the best thing :-P

You just used 'mistake' six times in a sentence......thats umm i don't know......it is something I guess......maybe a guiness record for using 'mistake' most number of times in a sentence......

Umm im sure it doesn't make any sense as of now to most of you Pardon me but can't share more details as of now

The Best Mistake I Ever Made was to Fall In Love with YOU

This was an assignment for me so i can go on and on about it :-P Just to keep it short. My explanation to mistake part of it is that falling in love is/was never a mistake its not a mistake...and it was never a mistake its the 'best mistake' for having some presumptions in mind which i will now call a mistake and going beyond that presumptions was the best thing :-P
In my case presumptions were some of qualities which i thought has to be there in a person with whom i would like to be.

There is a quote i liked the most in the similar context "Someday someone will walk into your life and make you realize why is never worked out with anyone else" True isnt it??

Umm im sure it doesn't make any sense as of now to most of you :-P Pardon me but can't share more details as of now

Will post in detail in a few days i suppose and might give you all a good news with a detailed post

Well this question has left me in a catch-22 situation. If something has turned out to be good, how can it be a mistake and if its a mistake how can it be good

but once again I think that was not a mistake..it was a 'calculated risk' taken on the faith that ma'am will not fail us because she was very kind-hearted and she was particularly impressed with us due to the work me and my group had done in the main project

Well, as far as I could remember, first income would be when I earned money for TA ship during engineering days. Had to check the assignments of juniors and guide them.

Uske baad, around 3rd year in college, went to NIT, Rourkela and participated in Robotics competition ( Confluence, I suppose was the symposium). Our team won the prize for best model :cheerio:. Although we spent a lot more in building the bot than we earned as prize, but still, feeling was

Pehli salary was just for a period of 12 days, so, was considerably a small amount. Uska max. to thode bhagwaan ke naam .. thoda ghar waalon ke .. aur thoda bank waalon ke .. :D

And uske baad... next month ki salary se new cellphone .. :), and since then, purchasing to khatam hoti hi nahi hai .. (No, I'm not a squanderer .. )

in college used to write articles for some blog..... earned quite a bit.... atleast to go out with someone special

Engineering college topped my class in First Sem , 13th in the university across all streams , got 6000 , won a few more in subsequent sems :), bought my first and only desktop computer in the 4 year , accumulated enough money

Age 20

Got my job at Infosys Technologies LTD , no preparation , no not overconfidence , didnt knew much about Infosys , nor did i think i had a chance

when i was in class 9,a lot of them had infested our house

Bachpan se b'days me to gifts me paise milte the hi.....but that wasn't earned I guess.....

Won a cricket quiz when I was in class 6......two guys a team....for answering question you earned points as well as money equal in value to the points......so basically you win something even if you just answer one question correctly......we stood first.....total points 300....so total prize was 300 Rs.....I got 150 there....... ;)

Uske baad long time no earnings on my own.....daddy ke paise pe jeeta raha .....earned a bit again in 3rd-4th year college.....6000 Rs for working as an online content writer for a sports website......had to write match reviews and previews and occasionally news items too related to cricket.......not involved in that any more though.....aur 8th Aug se to naukri me ghus jaaonga.....

hmm...already thinking about first salary Anyways its an amazing feeling...

I was 18..earned Rs.1200 by giving tuition to a 8th standard kid...taught him for 10 months..earned 12000 in total but that first 1200 will always remain special for me....

well actually i don't remember exactly when it was but when i was in 5th or 6th std. me along with my bro and cousin used to sell lemonade in the summer.

earnings were though less but something earned on our own is always

1. had a grand party with my parents
   
2. had visited famous temples and historic places in india(northern & eastern part)
   
3. had bachelor party with my colleagues
   
4. brought books for MBA prep
   
5. brought few sets of party wear dress
   
6. fulfilled my wish to spend all money of my first salary except 1rupee(kept it safely not to spend anywhere) which will remind me throughout whole life the importance of first salary.

i think this is a matter of opinion difference between believers and non believers of the abnormal and psychic phenomena. :)

I have not played any sports at organized level.
The only sports I have played is Gulli Cricket and Badminton on roof.

I have always regretted this, want to play something seriously and become really good at it. Trying to play tennis these days, hopefully someday I will become good at it !

Apart from this, really nothing much to miss! I guess am having the best time of my life !

Am a very impulsive person and sometimes make decision in haste but more than often they all turn out to be good in the long term :)

And there are few where I still wonder what would have happened, if would have done that.

I had joined work in Chennai after engineering and didn't like the project and people from day 1, I have a tough time when people speak a language which I don't understand and somehow some people assumed that Tamil was the official language of the company :D

I worked there somehow for around 1.5 years got my US VISA and was about to travel soon, and then came recession and they started delaying !

I was frustrated, I had tolerated Chennai only because I was hoping I will move to US soon. Then I started asking my Manager to either send me US or send me to Pune, I don't want to continue in Chennai !

And then out of blue, he said do you want to move to Mumbai ? It's at client location !

I said yes without thinking ! And cried for initial 1 month after landing in Mumbai because of travel and house hunting !

But when I look back , it was decision which turned out good! Had a great time, met interesting people, easily best 11 months of my life and then moved to UK.

I might have gone to US if I would have continued in Chennai ...and probably would have stayed there !

But heck ...am in London now !
US has to wait for another few years ...Dubai and Singapore calling for now !

Not sure if it was a mistake but many of my friends did tell me then, "you are making a mistake by moving to Mumbai !" But I was obsessed with Mumbai ! Mumbai Rocks !!

I just had a deja vu on seeing this question...I don't remember when it was..some years back..some days back..or perhaps yesterday

anyways on a serious note...there is a logic behind deja vus...actually it all has really happened in the past...some millions of years back...life is a full circle..and everything repeats itself..even you have asked this question some crores of years back and you will again ask this some crores of years later..its just that few parts of few things remain in our minds..and gave us this feeling of deja vu...

I often encounter such feelings...like someone talking to me...and the whole conversation seems familiar,like seeing a familiar person,seeing faces in dreams..which i have never seen but definitely that person exists in this world otherwise how can I see such a fully fledged face...once in my dream I visited a mysterious temple with many people around there..situated in a snowy and hilly reason..now I have never seen its picture in real life..but how can that thing come into my mind...definitely I have been there in some previous birth of mine...or have some relation with it..now the reverse process of it gives this feeling of deja vu...

Have experienced many times.....bahut bar laga hai ki man I have been in this exact situation before.......can't recollect any situation of importance when I had a feeling of deja vu......

Cheez hi aisi hai ki kaam ke waqt nahi aata....imagine sitting in an exam hall and having a feeling of deja vu that I have seen this question before and its answer too......wishful thinking....maybe a bit too wishful.....

puys well we always share momenst of happiness among ourselevs which is really great initiative ,but sometimes what i feel is we should be always supportive of people who sometimes meet in their lives with no less than doomsday.

Well this question has left me in a catch-22 situation. If something has turned out to be good, how can it be a mistake and if its a mistake how can it be good

for example, if someone falls in love, how can it be a mistake??In my opinion its a ''wonderful thing'' to do so.... or if someone lets anyone go....,then again how it is a mistake?? That person deserved that, or situations were not compatible...so it can't be called a mistake...it can be termed as a 'wise decision''..or may be i am missing something in my thought process or thinking too much

most of the people here have called falling in love as ''mistake'' (though it was best :P) :lookround:...this thing didn't get into my mind....

Anyways after thinking for an hour now(and half yesterday :P)..i think a 'mistake' which turned out to be good..was that in last semester apart from the main project we had to submit one another project also..which carried 4 credits(total credits were 30, so it accounted for 13.33% of total marks)...every student devoted so much of time..but me and my roommate somehow didn't even start that project....when the date was over..and semesters were about to start..ma'am called us....we were just looking at our feet/shoes when ma'am was scolding us..she asked us to submit the project..but once again we didn't....(sounding a bit besharam here , i think :biggrin:)

when results came, we scored 4/4 in that, without even submitting the project..
but once again I think that was not a mistake..it was a 'calculated risk' taken on the faith that ma'am will not fail us because she was very kind-hearted and she was particularly impressed with us due to the work me and my group had done in the main project

I'm a deja vu specialist. I see a few random scenes in my dreams. Later or sooner, it turns real in my life. For example, I see a road with 4 speedbreakers and me travelling in a car, watching out for them. In sometime ( maybe a few months or years ) , I come across the very same things in real. Both imagination and reality are too close in resemblance.

I do not claim to have a better sixth sense but it happens.

P.S. : I must ask these questions to a dream interpreter

Anything that you think you do not have but wish you could have.

Though about giving IIT-JEE again after taking admission.....started studying too.....solved HC Verma yet again......but then decided to let it go.....just fell in love with the college life and culture.....and then there was someone too.....

Next year some of my friends who were also preparing for JEE made it to the IITs......have wondered at times how things would have been had I appeared and maybe cracked JEE.....but no regrets at all......

Hmm.. galtiyaan to kaafi ki hain .. ab usmein se acche mistakes (not biggest .. ) out of the BLUNDERS I've made ...

1. Was planning to drop a year and prepare again for the engg. entrance examinations, but didn't know what made me to take admissions that year itself. And believe me, the engg. days are the best thing that ever happened to me. :)

2. Had made it to two different companies during engineering campus placements. And as I was waiting for my joining dates, the market had started to decline ( thanks to Recession ).

I was mentally prepared to join the 2nd company. But, around July end, when the first company offered me my joining dates, I couldn't wait to join. :)
Thankfully I joined the 1st company, as the 2nd company offered the joining dates after a year. And when they called me up to join, I told SCREW YOU !!! :cheerio:


3. It brings me back to the National Himalayan trekking. Haalat kharab ho gayi the during the trek, but once we touched snow, I just can't narrate how the feeling was like .. ( Yaar, ye trek ka kissa to almost har alternate question me fit ho jaata hai .. )


4. Soch raha hoon.. kuch yaad aaya to update kar dunga... :)

During my college days seniors generally take classes for juniors for internal assignments.there was one ma'am from IT branch used to take classes.she used to take clases and tests where i used to score 5-10 marks less than max marks so being always in top in that subject.
that senior girl got impressed and one day she told me to go for movie ithought may be she is impressed by the way i study and when i reached there she gave me Bouquet of roses she told liked my personality too i thought just it was her general friendly expression so accepted that.in that bunch roses there was proposal letter(Love +marriage in future):shock: which was discovered by my roommate ididnt see then next day at college hue and cry ..... uske baad kaan pakkad lia ab movie kisi ma'am/senior girl ke saath nai jounga specifically if offer is from other side

Considering best mistake in the sense the mistake that helped me :lookround:, would be not taking job offer, as a tape recorder I am repeating it here I always thought this was one of big mistake and I would never be able to cover the lost ground..., but as raghav said I have realized that whatever happens is for good... and the time and hardwork I put in is not going to drain.. In fact right now all the skills I gained has made me a better person and is helping me every day...

Back after a long time....and feeling great to post on my favorite thread .:)

Coming to the question,
The best mistake i did when i was in college and for once she came to ask 'Engineering Mechanics' questions just because i gave 2-3 correct answers in the class..The post-effect felt was so awesome that i studied this subject almost 3-4 hrs a day....just to answer all questions in the class and post-class sessions with this girl..

The idea worked..but i forgot that there are other subjects too..and as expected, failed..:splat:...But those moments cant be explained...it was like, i was the Einstein of the subject.....so yes, that was the best mistake i did..;)

Today i found a hilarious post on my friends FB status...thought to share with you all..hope to see some smiling faces after reading it..:)

The best mistake that I made was...

choosing to go for a Bike ride raher that going in Car with my friends on a rainy day in mountains last year.....

I got sick after getting soaked in rain water but enjoyed the bike Trip which I still mesmerize....
