Actually, I have never given a thought to it. But if I give it a thought, I realize that it cannot be decided like that. The way your life progresses would have been much different if you had been the opposite gender.

But, as of now, I am quite satisfied.

More often than needed, I've had my confrontations with the police. Many police stations in Mumbai, Pune & its surrounding areas have my name on top of the statements recorded in their zones. However, wherever I've had my confrontations, I typically end up knowing the seniormost officer at that location, or know someone in the HQ of that division, hence everything is a cakewalk, so to speak.

At one time, I was working at a major tourist spot where we can even have over 10-12k people visiting on major days. For such days, I've had to go to the station, speak to the senior officer, and have a discussion with him. Hence, many officers from constable to ACP level know me.

So one day, we have an event going on, I am incharge of the technicals and security, and am going around the place getting things into place, which is as usual in the mess anyone who has planned for events with 10k footfalls and 25k turn up will know. The cops have setup a cordon in the core area and are not allowing anyone to enter.

I have to pass through that cordoned-off area, and also work in there - my team members are complaining that the cops are not letting them in. I start arguing with the constables at the entry point - some of them know who I am, but are unable to help coz the ones arguing are senior - but nothing is happening.

I nearly lose my cool and whip out my phone to call the zonal ACP when the DCP of that area walks by. Everyone throws a sharp salute and I just glare at him. Knowing how I normally am a cool & easygoing guy, he looks at me and goes "Kay Modi, kay challay? Ka itka tension madhye distoy?" (What Modi, what's up? Why so much tension?) "bagha na saheb, ikde amhala kaam karaychay, anhi he loke zau det nahit. Gussa nasel tar kay? Amchi jaaga, amche lok, tarihi." (Look here boss, we need to work here and these guys are not letting us pass. Won't I get angry? Our place, our people, yet.)

He starts blasting the constables on duty, makes them apologise to me, and asks me to post one of my guys with them, who will identify the team members and help let them through.

Lets just say this incident is the one that brings a smile to my face when I remember it, but there are many more incidents of a serious nature not fit on PoH threads. Although we try to avoid cops, but then they are the reason we are safe - their overzealousness in maintaining security and processes aside.

Hmm there is another school Kendriya Vidyalay School always we used to have competition wether its padhai or ladaai always we have to be at top by default.

Met Mr. Akhil Tiwari at jaipur recently. He's the most humble person ive ever met :sallute: very elegant, very helpful and very exciting.. i was actually tired coz hadn't slept for 36 hours, but as soon as i met him all the tiredness was gone. We talked about everything in that 3 hour meet including hobbies, interests, career, childhood achievements, all the crazy incidents n ya abt girls:biggrin: too.. It was getting late n we were running out of tym, so he dropped me back to railway station. still lot of things were left to discuss, would love to meet him again. @ all puys: plzz don't miss a chance to meet him.

it was my cousin sister's wedding...everything was perfect n normal.....she hated one of my cousin brother...they were not on talking terms...then at the time of bidaai everyone was emotional including me...she was hugging everyone one by one ......n her biggest enemy was watching her n thinking "ki ye kab yaha se jaegi yaar?"...suddenly she saw him standing there n she ran n pounced on him...she started crying loudly n said " humare bade bhaiya hum aap se durr kaise rahenge?" v all were shocked n v cudnt control our laughter...situation got funnier n v were puzled thinking hw can north pole meet the south pole:w00t::w00t:..........n my cousin bro was actually scared....he told me later on



recently one of my frnd got married..no one cried during the bidaai......people dere were bhaving like kids...they all were shouting n saying bye bye bye...n her bro was talking to her husband n he kept on saying..."dekhte hain aap isko kab tak jheloge.. hum to thak gae the iske nakhre se..:biggrin::biggrin:......ab aap iska bhoj sambhal lena""" v all frnds were laughing listening them talk dat way

If i start counting them and writing about them, I shall spend half a day atleast :p
Anyway, everyone I have come across, has affected my life in someway or the other. There was a learning experience in every meet/APIGM.

Its a story of my own wedding when I just could not think of a reason to cry I actually was meeting and greeting everyone cheerfully. My bua, chachi, ladies from the in law's side were really worried for the fact "Hai raam ladki ro hi nahi rahi."

So mom pinched me badly that my wincing in pain reminded me of how things are about to change. And I did shed a tear :)

I had to take the signature of a senior police official on my passport application....

One of my worst experiences with any government agency....

Firstly they are supposed to take a short interview, very standard questions......and this constable (whose mouth and lips were red with paan, but you wud have thot he was a vampire) was interrogating me as if i was a murder suspect...if i tried to give some lengthy explanations, he would rudely cut me off...his language was such that i wont use it in front of senior citizens...
then when i went to take the senior official's sign, he made just sit in his office for half an hour while he was chatting with his friend, then he himself asked me something in such a high level of marathi that i couldnt understand, and when he realised i couldnt understand, he signed on my papers and told me to 'get out' in marathi !!! i gladly ran out !

where do these guys get all their ego ? i dont understand...

from their point of view, i saw the environment they work in...and i cant help but sympathise....very old buildings, broken furniture, only one water cooler for an entire building, building itself very unclean, etc...

conclusion :
i would be willing to pay more tax if it was used to improve the condition of our police force....

Pursuit of happiness is more about spreading happiness and this day~ Friday the 13th, is about fear.
If given a chance to spend happy moments with an organization/NGO that deals with spreading the same message , which one will you chose ? Could be oriented towards - cancer , drug rehabilitation etc. And Why ?

i dont wanna sound like a pessimist but there are lots of NGOs out there fighting cancer and drugs....

However if there was an Organisation which helps open category b-school applicants raise funds for their b-school education, i would surely invest in it....

i know people, who are in open category hence dont get concessions and neither can they afford loans with high interest rates.....
Even for colleges like Nitie which charges a mere 6L for two years, students have trouble raising funds....

Scene #1: *Time 1 am, I was riding a scooty at maximum speed possible*

So, me and my friends were on a roll. After watching Dhoom, we thought we were racers..

Suddenly we realized that there was a car with us in the race. I must say, the adrenaline rush reached its apex and the speeding scooty was now shooting scooty.

But soon, we realized that it was not a sprint race but a hot pursuit. . The car was a Toyota Qualis and it was the POLICE. .

As soon as we realized, we stopped our vehicles (I hope there would have been another option) only to realize that the Police SP was also in the car and he seemed to be very angry. The first job he did was to snatch our keys and make us weaponless. He instructed the police inspectors to confiscate all the vehicles and leave the kids here.

After he instructed the inspectors, he turned to us just to discover that we were on our knees (literally). . Begging and crying (ya it works) we apologized repeatedly. . . I just wished that had my dad been in politics, I would have been free by now.

But, common man proposes, police disposes. But, finally his heart was not made of rock. He let us free. We rushed back home praying that we should not hit the headlines the next morning.

The SP reembarked his car planning out a vacation from the Rs 5000/- he had just made by doing his duty. . .

Lesson learnt: None. I am still one of the fastest riders in the city. .

Other than that recently was in police station to get my bike released, had to wait for hours for them to write a receipt and release my bike, they were just expecting bribe which I didnt give This was when I met with an accident recently, it was my mistake and other guy got injured I escaped unhurt but my bike was ceased by traffic police on duty

1st confrontation
i was in class12,my parents had gone outstation so decided 2 take out my car n go 4 tutions at evening 8pm(i didnt have a license back den)
picked up a friend of mine n went 4 d classes,sir was supposed 2 be late,so we went 4 a spin.my friend had 2 pee so i drove my car straight through a woody forest kind of deserted area,he did his business n we were relaxing in d car,playing loud music "aa jane jaa" the remixed version,when a couple of police patrol cars spotted us in d wood
they drove across us,n blocked our way,got me out of my car and accused us of boozing in d car
i knew i was in a big mess,no licence,no money in pockets,parents outside
they searched d entire car cudnt find any bottles,so they asked us wat were doing in d woods
i told them the actual reason,he asked y on earth did i pick up such a deserted spot
but then the entire episode was happening at my hometown in jharkhand,were every1 has a contact some1 up their in d administrative/political ladder,named a couple of them(my grandfather is a retired IAS officer) :biggrin::biggrin:and the tone changed from threat 2 concern
the guys started giving us lecture on how we can be kidnapped n stuff and even escorted us back 2 coaching center:):)

Sorry for the late response but cannot leave this question unanswered !

I shall spend the day with GodParents.in, an initiative to help underprivileged children by collaborating with leading NGOs across the country. It helps these NGOs by raising donations for the children and finding normal people like you and me who can adopt these children online and become their godparents by financing the needs of these children , be it educational, societal etc.

I too have adopted 4 children as of now, 3 from Delhi and 1 from bangalore and have been helping them. And wish to help few more once i join job once again.

May happiness reach all the corners of the world and even underprivileged people be it children, females, oldies ... all get their share of happiness and comfort!

hmm actually marriage of my cousin was bit funny all it starets with IIM C /XLRI cricket match my cousin bro from IIM C had a long non stop arguement with my adeptive sister-in-law(XLRI) over who would win the match atlast there were two matches and it was tie one match each institute won.now the girl/guy were very much annoyed over not able to win argument:sneaky:.next there was cultural fest quiz competition there also there was tie.:biggrin:.then international exchange program some students of both XL and IIM C batches went for IE Spain something something happened while doing similar kind of projects headed by common professor in that college.they were such rivals that if match if ever cricket match occurs between two teams India would forget for a while about Indo=pak match.now such great rivals how theyturned out to be soulmates God knows
even when my dear bhabi was going out from her house she was arguing with my bro who would first get into wedding car:grin:.i asked Bhai sambhaal loge bhabi ko ya zindagi bhar jhagda hoga!!for that he smilingly replied arre yar "everything is fair in love and war":lookround:
when the time of vidaai came nobody from her family was found crying everybody were laughing saying how was this marriage possible!! even the girl and guy were laughing like i felt they just saw a comedy movie and going home but actually they were trying to pull each other's leg using puns used in comedy of errors that they did since the say they met each other but they have lot of trust for each other!!!!

It was a February '12 wedding. My second cousin's wedding. She was too happy to be married. Had an early bidaai and no tears were seen :grin:

I was happy to see such a smooth ( read: no more tears) bidaai and laughed a lot there

Marriage and MBA , they happen only once.Indian marriages support this idealogy and so the relevant grandeur comes in naturally.




That marriage was really memorable , we still laugh our hearts out when we recall those days.

same incident happen to one marriage I went to document. Gang from the groom's side was like my friend, so when it came to keep the shoes at safe place I came up with a idea to put the shoes in my camera bag. Now Girls in their wildest dream would have not thought that we will do such thing. So they did the same, stole all other shoes. But were never able to find where the groom's shoes are.

It's a rare occasion when you can meet everyone who is a part of your family tree.I have 6 cousins and each one of us is a great prankster.



I will share an incident.It was the marriage of my eldest cousin.We laid a plan that we won't let our brother's shoe get stolen and tell him that we got your shoe at a discounted rate of 6k from ur in laws.More than the money it's always fun to be involved in such activities.



The next day ,after the dance session , everybody went ahead with his role.To our surprise it was a huge bunch of girls and it was an uphill task defending the shoe.But as the night got older and colder , the excited girls became frustated and furious as they couldn't even get a trace of the groom's shoe.Very soon they realised who all were behind this but they were helpless.The ceremony contnued all night and each one of us slept in the 'mandap' itself.



Next day we got up and everyone had that devilish smile.We went out to freshen up , to our amazement our shoes weren't there.Our plan had backfired :P



Soon we got to know that out of frustation the 'girl gang' had stolen nearly all the shoes lined outside the mandap once we got asleep.
We went to them ,they readily agreed and said they just wanted the groom's shoes and inexchange they would return everything.
But the girls were real evil.They returned all the shoes except ours :D



Nange paon sare bhai ghar aaye , 3-4 din tak ghar pe chota-bada har koi hamari bezatti karke nikal jata tha :P
We did have our revenge on new year's eve ,courtesy our very dear bhabhi ji.(The revenge is an altogether diff story , some other day)



That marriage was really memorable , we still laugh our hearts out when we recall those days.

What a perfect day to ask this question.....Thanks a ton gudda ;). I celebrated my 4th Wedding anniversary yesterday .

My own wedding (on the day when Titanic sank ) left my friends laughing (in shock ) and left moist in my eyes (Obviously khushi ke aansu :D). I was so happy to have married the love of my life and the feeling was inexplicable :). My friends were not aware of me being in relationship with her. Some of them came to know only on the day of my wedding. So, undoubtedly, they launched pretty heavy heavy expletives at me. However, when the feeling sank in, they hugged me, congratulated me, and partied like animals . Actually, my friends never ever imagined in there wildest dreams that I would marry this girl. So, It was a shocker for them.

That was one of the most memorable days of my life.

I have heard many people claiming that they would just do a register marriage....no need of all the tradition ..making the couple stand and a huge crowd coming to make them feel embarrassed....But then..when I hear all this I usually feel like :nono:

Marriage is the most wonderful moment for every mom and dad...And recently my cousin sister got married and went to scotland with her husband.. I can see her only after a year when she comes...Actually we were not even close..:biggrin::biggrin:..Only few days before her marriage we all became close..Then the marriage...That moment when her mom cried I seriously could understand the pain,joy and every bit of emotion that was unsaid...Almost all other moms having a daughter had tears ... this moment made me feel like how a mother feels....

All the cousins had come and we had a grt time...All of us are busy in our own world and its damn hard to see everyone together....This made me realise that all old traditions have some reason...Marriage is an occasion for everyone to come together...People get to see dear ones after long years..The feeling is amazing ..After all marriage comes once in your life time...so Indian marriages rock..I am eagerly waiting for every cousins marriage:biggrin: its fun to be a part of it...And the biggest event would be my Brother's marriage..He never cries...I will make him cry with joy on that particular day

ps:I have not witnessed western marriages
pps:I am planning not to get married but not v sure about destiny
