anybody please any reviews about Canon LEGRIA HF R205 OR canon ixus 115 hs ...me getting this as a gift voucher which one is good...which one to take

one is a camcorder and the other is a (Point and Shoot) PnS still camera. It boils down to u what u want to choose actually.

Legria has no IS(Image Stabilization) and the battery life is not that good. where as the IXUS range of PnS are pretty good in PnS segments from Canon. The IXUS 115 however doesnot have a manual mode i guess but then it's ok . so given a chance I would not choose any of them but if I really have to choose one of them then I would go for the IXUS 115.

But then the call solely remains with u, whether to go for a camcorder or a PnS

@mahalgoldn It is nt 35K, make some good research. Don't look at the offical website prizes. And you also buy 2nd hand cam. Lots of guy keep updating their cameras, So if anyone from your city or nearby town is selling it you can sure check it and buy it after physically checking it.

As I was going through this thread, I saw most of the discussion related to gadgets and I just compared us with writers. Do they guys discuss which pen or laptop is best to write? Obviously no... then why we all are wasting our time on discussing which camera is better??

I know everyone want to have best cam, but that will make you a camera owner not a photographer. I think we need to discuss ideas, thought process behind the click, Insipration , concepts and everything and anything about photography and less about the gadgets. @guravus you can also try some third party TTL flashes, but Nikon flashes are best according to me, SB700 is a little over your budget but a best thing for its prize.

@divya_chweet that is because you may be clicking in a low light condition. You need to increase ISO in your camera to get fast shutter speed. Also you need to practice to avoid hand shake, which can also be eliminated by putting the camera on tripod.

To avoid blur images, just understand your camera shutter speed. In simple words shutter speed means the time between the click and the capture. Once you understand your camera shutter speed you will manage to take photos without blur.

To avoid dark images, just move your camera horizontally slowly maybe by 2 or 3 degree by focusing the image you are trying to capture. At one point / angle you will surely capture bright image.

As you are having a point and shoot camera, try to avoid zoom. And here is my personal view on photography ... Your clicks should be in such a way that you will not be able to see the captured image with your normal eyes put in some creativity. Camera is like third eye. It will show you what the other two eyes cannot show you

frndz.. my passion is photography... but to be honest i don knw anythin about it.. but very much interested in learning photography.. i don understand the lighting and the tints etc.. most of my photos are very blur or very dark.. my dad told he wil let me join the classes only if he has faith tat i can take gud pictures... can u help me frndz.. plzzzz i hav a sony digi cam...
