Gambhir and Kohli carrying on with their super, consistent form .. Irfan has showed again the value of a bowling all rounder to this Indian side, his performance in the last ODI (5 wickets) and during the chase with Raina (3rd ODI) was notable ..

Concerns for India:
- Middle order - Time for Raina to be promoted to no.4? What happens to Rohit
- Rahane in place of Sehwag
- Zaheer's form has somewhat slackened since the last 12-15 months

Major credit to some good show put up by Kohli, Gambhir, Raina and some good bowling except at death overs.

Rohit Sharma continues to be a flop, good to see Tiwari encashing the opportunity, Pathan having a decent series so far ( much needed for India from all rounder perspective ).

Still wondering to see Rohit continuing and Rahane not getting a chance.

Anyways, good start for the season and much needed booster before India returns for World Cup T20 !!

Yesterday again showed the frailty of the current batting line up in conditions even slightly conducive to bowling.

The problem is not in number of batsmen in the line up, 6 batsmen is a good way forward. The problem is in the composition.

Sehwag has been very inconsistent in the last 3-4 years, and the middle order apart from Kohli does not have a mature, patient approach. Rohit Sharma and Raina have not delivered that well. Unless the track is a belter, Rahane should get to play. With him, at least 3 players (Gambhir and Kolhi the other two) can be relied upon to play a patient, mature kind of innings.

Dhoni has been biased towards Rohit since start .... He had to let Jadeja go because of his continuous dismal performance that continued in IPL as well barring 1-2 matches.

Rohit played fine in IPL and Dhoni can defend him now. Likes of Tiwary and others sitting on bench despite a player in playing XI who is not performing is slightly sad.

Anyways, lets see if he can encash today's chance.

As usual our batsman proving out to be our main strength , nice to see Veeru being patient enough and not getting frustated , Kohli's purple patch continues \m/

Rohit sharma again failing, this is enough , we all know the kind of talent sharma is having , but he is not @ all respecting his wicket , Tiwary should now come in place of Rohit....

Nice to see Irfan's bowl swinging even in 14-15th overs too , he was amazing that day...gentle breeze helped him lot

We have T20 WC coming up here in same venue only , i feel we should give enough chances to spinners like chawla (considering Rahul Sharma wont play now , Ojha already there) , who can prove out to be dark horses in such conditions

Good solid display by the batsmen, but bowling apart from the first few overs was dicey, if the Sangakkara - Tharanga partnership wouldn't have been this slow, the result could've changed.

Big change I felt was in the team composition, 4 fast bowlers and a spinner, if the confidence is there in the batsmen (at least in the sub continent conditions), 5 bowlers is the way to go.

India is playing 2 specialist spinners on a pitch which has a much better record for fast bowlers than spinners.Is this one more from Dhoni's unconventional strategies?
