on the contrary if some one sensible is watching this thread from HP, they might take the corrective action and offer a more sensible price.. in any case if u decide for any other options, i suggest mav, u get the quote this time for various number bands.. e.g.

Yes... 4% is lowest i guess.. It depends whr the delivery will be..

60,000 + 2,400 = 62,400? And I am assuming that 4% is the lowest tax rate i suppose, others may be having more?

Let's have an online auction, though for the seller. The seller giving us the best deal will win the contract for over 50+ PGs
The HP guys were talking about user ids. We will invite all the major dealers giving them userids.
Ask them to give the config and price.

Good point. Now that the numbers will fall down drastically, HP will inc the price yet again! Maybe back to 62,500 (excl of VAT).
Guess from what I could make it, given the way the product is selling, HP can afford not giving us the deal. Moreover ppl hv posted of getting things cheaper from ...

I think the fact that we were discussing this deal on an open forum ultimately worked against us. For , the element of uncertainity , which is always the most important factor while bargaining was lost to us . HP could read our discussions and gauge our interest.:satisfie:

Can you mention which model DELL is talking about.
Or atleast the config. If you can (without committing nething), try and get an unofficial estimate from the DELL folks. Say quotation for 25+ people and quotation for 50+ people.

Frankly saying I dont think they are interested. The final pricing is 61k plus VAT. So add around 2400-2500 bucks. So I am sure how many of you will be interested. Nothing much to add, you guys can decide it yourselves.
About Dell, they say its too late today to make any decisions. So anything...

hmmm... negotiating something like this was never going to be easy... a lot of information gets lost over communications like this, especially where sales guys are concerned! Spare a though for MavericK who has been actually talking to these guys for so long... Im sure he's more exasperated than ...

I suggest its high time u let the HP guys know that need to be more understanding... It not us alone who will benefit..
In case u guys do decide to go for DELL -6400, do ask those guys for a FREE upgrade to 1GB RAM.. atleast thats what they offered @Australia.. cant see a reason y ...

Yeah i think its no use trying to bend our back so much...if its more than 61K me off to...there are lot of other configurations available in the market and they would give us a good deal given the no. of interested people...Also my bschool starts after 2 months so someone might come up with a similar config then and the prices will go down...its worth for me to wait and watch if the price is above 61K...

Firstly, the guys removed the option of MP3 player.. Didnt they know tht they were out of stock earlier.. Y did they give an option earlier.. :angry:

Secondly, the internet card issue.. if we hav to pay 3000 bucks, thn whts the use of giving it.. :angry:

Thirdly, this VAT issue. Didnt they knew it earlier tht VAT is gonna be applied.. :angry:

Any more increase in price n am off this deal.. :angry:

If you can get any other deal like ash! has said in the post above me - even from Dell for 6400, Give it some serious thought. You were also following the DELL 6400 yourself but HP 5118 was ...

If this present pricing is to be believed, then for 25 ppl, I guess they put it at 62500 excl of taxes, cos that was the price point from where the negotiations began. Anyway lets see what they say now.

One more qn Mav, just assuming a large chunk drop out(i hope not), will the price still remain the same as they have proposed? Have they asked for a specific no of ppl ? I know previously when we got a quotation for 62K it was mentioned as 25+ ppl. Dont remember seeing such a cluse in the late...

Hey Mav,also check with them 4 the date of production,the lappy's shouldn't be too old... I guess most of us are wise enough to know why!
I've known of instances where Lenovo dumped old stuff in bulk deals n the lappys vr then lying in the service centres...just to avoid any such thing,just ta...
