It is suggested that you complete scanning in the safe mode if you suspect any virus attack.

Before u buy/download an antivirus...u can try 1 thing...try and restore the system back to an earlier point in time when the problem didn't exist...it might help....

Go to control panel-->Security-->Back Up and Restore-->Repair windows using system restore...

I'm not sure if u had manually created a restore point earlier...if u had..then it would have saved u a lot of trouble...for now u have to depend on the restore point created by ur OS...give it a try..might just help..

Don't blame me if anything goes wrong:biggrin:...because after the restore, u might be missing a few softwares/system settings which were installed after the restore point..

Restore won't work in this case because this virus spreads at a very rapid rate in each folders as well as in sub-folders in all the drives including removable drives. Restore only brings back settings and system files of C drive to the back-date when backup was created.
Restores will work here if full image backup of all the drives were created by some software's such as Acronis True Image etc.

You must get your correct WEP key to get outta this problem.

Try these steps after getting the key:-

(1)Press menu button.

(2)Go to settings>connectivity>destinations.

(3)Select access point and add a new access point.

(4)Select yes when it says AUTOMATICALLY CHECK FOR AVAILABLE ACCESS POINTS

(5)Select a suitable WLAN network(whose wep key is known to you).

(6)Select no if it asks to CONFIGURE NOW.

(7)Enter the WEP key.

(8 ) Go to internet (in destinations) and select your WLAN network.

(9)Highlight the data bearer(WLAN) option and go to its advance settings.

(10)select ipv4 and enter the following values:-

(a)Phone ip:-in the range of 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254 (or whatever static IP was assigned to you for Wi-Fi by your netwrok administrator)

(b)Subnet mask

(c)Default gateway this is your router's address(mostly 192.168.1.1 or whatever was assigned to you )

(d)Dns address 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220(these are opendns servers you can also choose those provided by your isp)

(11)Now you can access your WLAN network easily(menu>settings>connectivity>wlan)
