yes, you will be able to attempt all 2 PROC CATs...3rd one is still going through the 9 days cycle starting from 25th july...and yes PROC-CATs are 8 now.

I am not sure whether you can take CL test one-off basis...but see, this year, all CL mock tests are online...so actually none of the test is missed..when you will register yourself for CL tests, then you will get all the tests on your account which you have missed till now...and when you will appear for them you will get actual percentile too....

its like..every week one new mock test appears on your CL account except PROC-CATs...its upto you when you want to take them...
Also if you have missed any PROC-CATs, then these test will also appear in your account..you can take them afterwards...

should I take

OR

i would suggest you go for time enhanced...i've no idea abt CF..
but have you considered CL...they've a variety of sectional and chapterwise online tests....

now CF's CATathlon online gives only ghar pe practice.
so if u take both it means only 7 invigilated tests at centre.

So if u wish to take up both TIME and CF......
I would advice you to give more invigilated tests at the centre coz. ultimately sitting at home doesn't replicate the actual test env.

so u should be trying TIME enhanced and CF's CATsprint at Lab( i think that's the name)

just my recommendation.. do what suits u best....:)

Thanks for your thoughts, and for pointing out that CF's course would be web based not invigilated but the problem is that in Mumbai the nearest CF centre is a far and I am working. Last yr I tried this and it affected my scores badly so I am more interested in learning material. Considering this what would be your advise?

Go for TIME surely coz. max. junta gives time .......and that means u can get better idea of where u stand amongst competition.
Cl papers are generally quite good too.....don't know abt PT.

Take a combination of TIME + something.......considering that all classes this year are giving only 6-7 invigilated computer based mocks!

Since cat is gonna be online this year , check the centers which has the best infrastructure in your area.
Also CL has conducted 2 of its proctered tests and TIME none.

i think on my exp of last year aimcats are slightly tougher as compared to simcats and also than actual cat paper
tho DI is good in aimcats i think one should take simcats than aimcats

and i accept the fact that getting good percentila in aimcat is way tougher so if you r doing good in aimcats u can relax a bit and work more on ur weak areas

By e-learning software, do you mean MBA test prep on demand?

Well, it is not a software and it will be online, so I hope you are clear about that. I am a student of this course and I should say its very good. Its DI module is very short, other than that I think it is very worth the money especially if you cannot attend a classroom course. It is the best thing next to a clasroom course.

However, you will need to buy your own practice material so practice problems as the number of problems givne in the module might not be sufficient. However, all possible types have been covered and short cuts + alternate solutions have been provided for all questions.

Good analysis by Vivekvarendra. I am a third time CAT taker and have earlier joined Time, CL and now IMS. I feel that Time has a good high quality test series, but the end of the day when it comes to the CAT, it has to be logical reasoning and the questions should make you think better. Having answered tougher questions successfully at an AIMCAT doesn't grant success in CAT. You have to be realistic. Earlier IMS has also prepared tougher questions and were competing with TIME and CL on more tougher questions as the best Test series. I had personally met the Product Head of IMS this year, and according to him, they had realized that it is not tougher questions that allow one to bell the CAT and it is logical realistic quality questions. IMS has made that shift (according to him) to have realistic questions on the level of CAT rather than going above CAT as always CAT comes out with a surprise. So IMS this year question papers are going to be more towards the basic as there is a feel that due to the Computer based test, this year CAT would be more on the basics rather than tougher questions which nobody can solve.

TIME-Indispensible and undoubtedly the best test series.Has about 27000-28000 taking its mocks so one would get the best picture of his standing here.Moreover, TIME takes a large number of tests and gives sufficient practice on all patterns.Excellent analysis of any mock.

IMS-Number of test takers is 21000-22000.Has provided very high quality mocks this year and is neither too tough nor too easy.It maintains itself around the CAT level.

CL-The questions are way above CAT level.Number of test takers is about 15000.Helpful only if wants to practice very tough questions.I dont think it is very helpful if one wants to have CAT level practice.Solving very tough questions in almost every mock would not be a good idea especially if one is taking only Cl mocks.

So, I would personally go for TIME as the 1st choice,IMS as 2nd and CL as 3rd.

My take on the issue is.........that each series is a mixed bag.

The way an aspirants physce works is this...........they feel nice about test-series in which they perform well! That idea seems wierd bt is indeed true......Test series cash on it.

If u compare the patterns of CAT since last 4 years, u will realise hardly anybody was close to actual CAT , most of the series were just shooting in dark.

The better approach 2 whole problem is ........keep yourseld open to change. Average of 2 series is approx wht u will score in ur CAT , dnt enroll for more than 1 series........try 2 manage papers of another series. Try 2 undrstnd concepts in place of knowing all varities of questions.

And above all stay prepared to get anything on the day of CAT!!!

According to me...........

TIME papars are really good in quality and quantity both..........If we just look around...at least in bangalore and pune, where i have given the TIME Aimcats, the atmosphere is just like a CAT drill going on...........Sooo many students flock for it.....Also the way, the TIME handles its Mocks is also too good,.....I mean soo much professionalism.....

Have givne the IMS SIMCATS also in past.......but they were not appealing in terms of QUALITY and reality towards the CAT.........

TIME made me more more realistic towards the D day preparations...........

i am giving both time and ims papers....

and i strongly believe ims is better than time ... i know many ll be agains me but this yr ims paper is more of logic base as cat06 . not so tough ques in maths and di which was case in 06 n most prob it ll remain d same.... and moreover ims also give diff paper which can be understood ( solutions) but in case of time diff paper means almost unsolvable.... u hv to spend hrs to understand one ques... is that cat all about??? we r not giving iit paper .... cat is about aptitude not about big calculations..... no doubt some of the papers of time is very gud but at same time most ques r useless....

i believe ims is quality and time is quantity...... its my opinion....

Cf is mking 8 precats available. I have taken every single paper and the are simply the best. So if you are looking for great stuff, you can buy them. Less Testtakers is something you got to bear with

Well since I have given IMS mocks for CAT 2005 and found them to be reasonably tough. This year I have taken up TIME and CL and both are equally tough. It is a lot more difficult to get a good percentile in TIME than in CL. I did try out 2 of the SIMCATS from IMS this year and after the experience with TIME and CL I found them to be almost a cakewalk. The verbal in IMS however is slightly difficult..
So all the best guys. My advice is check out all the MOCKs either appear for them or try laying your hands on the paper from any of your friends. At the end of it all of them are useful and gives you good exposure to different kind of questions.

I have been taking IMS and time papers so far. I think Time certainly has a higher level of difficulty compared to ims.
But dude where did u get those numbers from?...33k and 12k?
