Hi all, Donno its the r8 thread to ask. Can any1 tell me REAL avg package & overall placement report of the last yr(coz there is always some exaggeration in placement reports of all the colleges )?

might be... i m also unable to login...

I guess admissions are closed for this year as I am not able to login into ernet site.....Can anyone conform this?

maybe its for the best that iits hane moved on to cat.......they are in competition with other b schools

look the problem is the IITs were segregated because they previously till one year use to take only engineers and use to take students only through JMET which used to be a bit different or u can say easier than the CAT.
Now that they have come under the purview of CAT from this time so they will provide good competition to the NEWER IIMS if not the older ones. This is evident from the fact that this year itself the cut-offs were quite high for mumbai, delhi and kgp.

Both r equally gud but frm a philantropic perspective optin for vgsom wld make bttr sense as d vacant seat in raipur cld be used by sum1 but dat will not will not be d case wid vgsom...
ps me stuck @ 28 ge vgsom...i know how much dat seat in raipur cld mean to sum1...ATB....

thanks for the information, also in the ERP login system academic profile there is a medical form upload provision. What is this medical form ?? like do we have to under go any medical test from our side and upload those reports or any other thing ?? plz clarify .

also could you tell us the date of admission like when do we have to reach the campus ?? etc

Yes, you would get time for extra-curriculars... now how well you can 'manage' all that would depend you ... :)
We have mid semesters and end semester exams in each sem...and individual faculties keep taking quizzes all semester long....
You will need to balance all that....
There are many in our batch who are into quite a bit of sports/cultutral/extra curriculars all the time...

:) I really hope that the two are not interrelated.But I cannot help noticing the weird relationship existing between the two by intention or by accident.Last two years the placement report was consistently released in the first 'half' of May.These were the years in which the economy showed signs of recovery .In 2009 the report was released late,only by May last.This was the year in which along with other B schools VGSoM showed significant drop in placements.However in 2008 in which the placement recorded a 30% rise, the report was released as early as March.Iam not sure what to make out of this when the release is extended like never before ,to beyond June 10 where the candidates may not be even able to make a choice.

Whatever may be the reason, it denies candidates legitimate access to a piece of information which is one among the factors in deciding a BSchool.
Happy if my concerns are proved misplaced.

I honestly wish the college administration had done the kind of research & analysis you have done...In that case they would have realised what kind of conlusions people can draw from this and wouldn't have delayed the report so much....Many of you are getting paranoid; I would only suggest to be a little calm and composed...
Truth is that the placement report takes its own time..if people get placed early as in a boom, the report can come out very early..in a recession a little more time is taken as providing a worthwhile placement is a challenge..
It will be released quite soon... the formalities are mostly over...

this is the forum buddy, people who are asking question regarding dress code/holidays are obviously joining VGSOM

Has anyone declined the offer after the 1st waitlist (those who were selected in the ffirst merit list) ???

How much fee is going to be forfeited??

PS : i am asking this query because no one is answering anything for IIT Madras where they said the last date to withdraw is 11th June whereas the registration starts on 23th July.
I am waiting for other results and do not want to nullify my chances

Congrats for your admission into IIT-D.

I am waitlisted at 21 obc in Vgsom. What i want to ask is have you mailed Vgsom regarding your offer of denial ?

If you have done so, i want to drop a mail to Admin commite and ask if the are going to release furthur waitlist. I a more concerned as waitlist no.s 13,18,19 in obc are not joinging iit kgp and i being at 21 deserve an admission.

So please let me know if u have drooped a mail to Vgsom telling them that you are not accepting the offer.

I have not yet sent any denial mail to them but I did try 4 - 5 calls on these nos. 03222283888 n 03222282052 n here is the sad part that the first telephone number finally answered that they will not formally accept any denial mail or phone call, he refused to note my application no. , however i did told him my name n that i m obcwl13, but he kept telling me again that no such formal denial is entertained. On asking that whether they will come with 3rd waitlist after 21st june he replied that they will decide on it after the deadline for draft. When i suggested that it will be great help if they send offer mail to next candidates in wl, he replied that its their problem to decide what to do next.

Sorry Kalyan I tried convincing him but failed.

Anyways hope doesn't end here as they may come with 3rd list after 21st june.

its really shocking... Only movement of 11 in s second list. second list of IIMI MOVED by 29... Seems vgsom ppl h have hit the bulls eye. They have selected only those ppl who don't have any better converts... Its really disheartning

My Friend has got the Confirmation mail today itseems..
His WL was 21 in GEN..
So..its safe to believe that..The GEN waitList has moved atleast to 21 & more.
