Yes you can....But make sure its not value for money. U will spend around 6.5 lacs and placement is not a guarantee. Think twice before applying.

I am BE Mech 2007 passout i have two years of working exp in aviation sector was a technical instructor in Jet Airways i gave my cat and xat this year got decent marks m planning for MAT feb ......... now tell me is this aviation management is it good what all things are really covered and which aviation company do approach to upes
Another thing is i have no doubt about oil and gas management ...its really good over there

I am a pass out of UPES (UG). Only and only MBA in Oil & Gas is good but that too they prefer engineers. Rest are just a waste of Money...The courses are over-specialized.There were a couple of branches that were closed because the college had no companies for placement.

bt its nt the regular or conventional mba....i'd suggest go only if u hv interests
moreover the campus is located sumwere arnd 15 kms frm dehradun city...so evry part of ur lyf wil be in ur hostel & campus

only students who have already given mat can apply......you can give their own entrance exam named UPES-MET or apply aftr feb mat results

yes you can. Even if you do so in may, you can still apply.

My first post. I am a UPES B.Tech pass out. For all aspirants-

1. MBA courses: There are too many. The older ones are Oil & Gas, Logistics, Power Management, Energy Trade. There could be more. Check the site.
O & G is the flagship course, however unlike what someone posted here earlier, it has not had 100 % placement. Relative to others, it has the best placement record. The highest package (O&G;) indeed goes to 8-10 lacs. However, this is offered only by the PSU's (IOCL,HPCL,BPCL) and they take 3 students each from. These are- 1 sc/st, 1 obc and usually the topper of the batch. IOCL comes every alternate year. BPCL & HPCL, whenever they feel like. Apart from this Essar offered 4 l/pa last yr. And some other oil companies in the vicinity. I don;t think the average salary was 5-6 lacs. Its just not possible. A lot people who got placed fel in the category of 3-4 lacs.
Power mgmt, Logistics have decent placements. I think about half the batch was placed. ET usually gets a lot of people placed in a company called Gensol, so that is an option too.

2. Fee: It changes every year, be a literate, check the site.
Hostel Charges:-
College hostel (hard to get): about 70k (including security)
Private hostelsL 60k, but they are more than 10km frm the campus.
cheapest option: Take a room in the nearby village (bidholi)

3. Faculty: is mostly quite decent. Some are quite good (as far as I've heard from my peers)

There is a separate exam if you don't meet the above criterion. Its called UPES-MET. Its on 19th Feb

MBA (Information Systems Management) will be well suited for U. They will not give U Power/Oil and Gas if also U do well in GD-PI. I will suggest U its not a good inst. for ROI. You will get lots of good inst. on Information Systems Management better than UPES

Hey Dude,

MBA OIL AND GAS is a very good option for you,because you being a B.E (mech). Placements are good in Oil and Gas.Avg is about 5-6.Highest is 10 BPCL. PSUs prefer eng. College and hostel is cool. UPES lives its own life under the sky at its hostels. Wifi,Cafes.Food Joints (western and desi). Climate is cool too as its dehradun.

I had given my September MAT 2010 and got 92 percentile, I just got a call from UPES for the GD and Interview, which is going to be held in Dehradun. I am giving this year's CAT, SNAP, JMET and even Dec MAT, seriously.

How good is UPES for MBA ? I gave it as one of my preferences in Sept MAT on the advise of one of my friends. Can any one please tell me if it's worth going for its GD and Interview, when the actual exam season is only beginning ?
