time mock cats carry a negative of 1/3 and not the conventional 1/4...........hence negative markings are a bigger pinch here. u loose 1 mark for every 3 mistakes ..................
that was the main reason i went for an allout accuracy paper and attempted only 95.............same goes at cat......nobody knows what are the negative....could be 1/4 or 1/3 or 1/2 or even 1....... i met my friend from iimb a coupla days back and he asked me to go for all out accuracy.........
his words were"dosent matter if u attempt 70qs at cat but get them right.....coz the iims dont want people who bluff" one of his classmates had attempted 72 and got all six iim calls and converted them......but opted for iim B instead of iim A.
so guyz......my serious advice....try everything u want to till 15 of october but then on do go for accuracy as it really pays in the end.............believe me......going by the last 3 yr cat papers..........a score of 65-70 would ensure u most of the calls
so relax and give the paper..........do questions which ur sure of

Hi guys,
I also wrote the TIME mock cat ,the highlight of which was the no: of negatives ,
a whopping 32. My estimated scores are
A/ R/ W
Sec 1->va/rc 41/ 32/ 9
Sec 2->qa 34/ 22/ 12
Sec 3->ds/di 40/ 29/ 11
Total 115 attempts , 83 right , 32 wrong->75.00 (But from my previous 3 simcats experience ,I believe ithat in the end it would be just about 70 only)
For me this exam was a mixed bag. The RC part were I used to get around 50% wrong fared slightly better,probably because many of the answers could be taken right out of the passage. I had 20 right and 6 wrong in this. But my accuracy in QA took a severe beating with 12 wrongs,unlike the usual 3 or 4.
This was the section to which I devoted the least time ,30 mins.In a hurry to maximize the no: of attempts , my accuracy suffered.
Generally ,I felt that this was an easy paper slightly easier than Sim2 .A bit more stress on accuacy would have really made a difference.As Gaurav said I think itz time to review the brms once again

Lets check out how SIM4 works out. We seem to have had a sudden influx of members around here. Lets hope all of them share information.

Gaurav is here but his accuracy has gone for a vacation( a short one , i hope) .
Well guys , the TIME exam was not a very good one.


sec 1 va/rc.... 39 attempts... 32 right and 7 wrong
sec 2 qa........ 34 attempts... 28 right and 6 wrong
sec 3 di .........32 attempts... 23 right and 9 wrong
in all 105 attempts.....83 right and 22 wrong .

In all i am satisfied with the first two sections , but too many careless mistakes in the last section . I am working on it . Till now i was in a frenzy to give as many fukll length tests as possible with as much analysis as required. But now its back to basics . 3-4 days of strict basics and then tests again .(I'm enjoying it yaar!)

Hats off Bingo .you were BINGO at the test. Your accuracy is stupendous . :D

Hi guys !
i had registered 4 the Time mockCAT, but couldn't write it bcoz i was called 2 office on an emergency (i am on production support of an app running on a mainframe and get paged if it goes down).
looks like bingo has done great !

Gaurav too had taken the TIME test. Let us await his results. You have been very accurate in this test ! Awesome accuracy. Also Gaurav normally has very good accuracy among us. Let us see how it turns out
