look spjain take both cat and xat scores into account. it takes your profile into account while giving calls, so pay a lot of attention to the form when you fill it up. As for the number of freshers, nobody has any idea on it.... however strangely this year out of the 417 finance calls 151 were born in and aound 1985..... so lots and lots of freshers............

hi guys!!!!!!i am appearing for cat 2007 n very much interested in spjain.but recently i heard that it offers only 18 sits for the freshers.....i don't have any idea about it.......please help me ??:.......i would also like to know if spjain takes xat score if it is better than any one's cat score..........

guys any idea hows the pre foundation course?? m yet to decide on the date to leave my job.. 15th or 31st may.. any idea?? is it manageable alongwith the job?? seniors plz help..

Hi,

I would request some of the seniors in SPJIMR to help me out reg the issue I have at hand.

I had applied for SPJIMR for the 2007-09 2-yr MBA course and I made the payment thru credit card. But, because of some problem in the web site the payment was made twice.

I had mailed SPJ about it and was asked told that they would ask UTI Bank to refund the money by the 31st of Jan and asked me to get back to them in case that did not happen. However, even after innumerable phone calls and n-number of mails to them, I'm yet to get an official word about the refund. Whenever I call them , the standard answer seems to be "We shall ask UTI to transfer the money asap".

I'm really sick and exasperated at the callousness of SP Jain towards the students. Will it take ages for them to instruct UTI bank to refund my money and that too for no fault of mine? I would request someone from the admissions committee to give me the contact number of somebody so that I could talk to them directly or at least let me know what exactly is happening and if at all I shall be getting the money.

I had already called up the Admissions Contact at SPJ many times and had sent mails to adm@spjimr.ernet.in but to no avail.

I hereby request the seniors at SPJIMR to provide me the contacts at SPJIMR to whom I can get this issue escalated. After all, it's everybody's hard-earned money that's at stake and I hope SPJ understands that.

Called up the admissions office today morning but they seemed to be extremely caught up with something and I couldn't really talk much.

1. Just sending the DD will confirm the admission or do I need to send a mail to the admission office (or Parimal sir) ?
   
   
   
2. What about the loan from SBI ? Any contacts or any details of the procedure to be followed ?
   
   
   
3. No mail from the admission office yet regarding the admission. Should we expect one ?
   
   
   
4. Any clue about joining dates ? Need to give a notice at office.
   
   
   
5. There's a foundation course, right ? Will that need full time attention or can I do it along with my job ?
   
   
   
6. Laptops ? Config ? Price ?

That looks like quite a handful for now :)

Hi all.

While so far, no official communication has come from the college as to when the classes r likely to start for the new batch, for us it was on 20th June last year. So till the official communication is received, u can use this as a reference.

As for the pre-foundation course (yes, its not foundation but pre-foundation), its upto u to decide whether u want to do it alongside ur current job or full-time. I believe u may be able to manage them both together .Only u'll have to work hard for that. And please understand that pre-foundations are very important at SPJIMR and they should not be taken lightly at all. Else u may land urself in trouble later.

As for the laptops, the final details are being worked upon and u will be getting a mail on that in a few days time.

I hope that should answer some of ur queries..

Hi all.
It has been quite sometime since I last posted on PG.. While our comrehensive year end exams were one of the main reasons, it also didnt make sense for us to post anything on the speculation going around on the thread on dates of result etc.as I couldn't have done much value-add (Some B-School jargon to get u started ) there anyways . But now that the wait is finally over, congrats to all the final converts and best of luck to those who couldn't get thru this time for your other calls or for the next year.

Guys, let me extend a very warm welcome to all those who have been finally selected to be a part of the SPJIMR family. U have proved that u really deserve to be here.. I am sure u'll have a great time here at SP.. Hoping to see u all soon.

Iam waitlisted at #20 in Marketing. Any past stats/trends to suggest that I have a chance to make it to SPJ?

Seniors,
- SPJ has asked confirmed candidates to deposit an initial sum by 11th April. But as IIM results would be declared after 11th.. chances are that many ppl may pay the sum to book SPJ seat.
In that case the waitlist may not move too much and the waitlisted candidates may not get a clear picture on 13th. What would happen in that case?!

am in a serious dilemma now.... made it to spjain finance.... i have already paid up the fees at nmims and now am waiting for the iim calls...(4 of them)... in order to book a seat at spjain i have to pay up Rs.35,000 and the iim results come out in a days time!!!!! cant we request them to delay the payment date by 1 day atleast!!!!!!!

I made it through Marketing. It was sooo great to see my name out there in the list of SELECTED candidates ! The feeling is awesome ! My first EVER MBA convert and WHAT a convert - SPJIMR !!

Kept refreshing the web page for 10 mins to ensure that my name doesn't vanish from there any moment

Have lots of questions.. lots of queries regarding fees, joining dates, laptops, foundation material.. BUT.. today's the day to celebrate ! All that will wait till tomorrow morning

And last but not the least, many thanks to the seniors at SPJIMR. Mayank (PGDBM) and Somansh / Abhishek (PGDSM) who've been very helpful all through the admission process and have patiently answered all our queries... :)

The details u r asking for is given at the very beginning of the page for WaitList. Check dat. They are gonna send an update after 13th of April. If you clear then, you have 2 pay the initial installment, which has to reach them by 17th. Just try to find out by yourself before posting.

Hurrah!!! i have made it to finance... first decent convert !!! this was my best call and it feels really great to have converted it!! people who have converted the calls theres something on the website that you shouldnt miss :-

The candidate need to confirm his/her acceptance of the offer and deposit an amount of Rs. 35,000 (Rupees thirty five thousand only ) as non-refundable accepance amount by Demand Draft payable to S. P. Jain Institute of Management & Research Mumbai. The DD should reach us by 11th April 2007.
