people who wrote this one were a lot more as compared to the previous 13th simcat which had just close to 12-13k people who wrote it........last time i saw a 99.2 %ile giving a rank of 78...........this time i have 99.44 and still have a rank of 89..........so u can guess........

How did u calculate 15k? did u use the data of catastrophe and divide his rank by 0.74 (100 - his percentile)? coz that will not give a correct answer since the ranks as u know r only awarded to ppl who clear all the cutoffs....so the figure shd be around 20k-25k....anyway, doesnt matter a lot, as long as it is a sufficient number to represent the entire CAT taking junta....

ya had calculated it considering there are 98 guys above me....while ignoring the guys hu scored more than me and didnt get rank may be fatal to this calc....as multiplying factor is 1.0067/0.0067......but still how many guys ud score >161.5 with out clearing all cutoffs......it cant be 60-65 (to get the fig. of 25k)..........

there was a huge drop of appearing students on account of holidays
20 k is a reasonable figure

25 k is inflated

Yeah, me at 70 with 168.50....these ppl took away 7 of my marks :(

Though I did think that the rank would be low after I analysed my paper. Given that I had marked 2 answers wrongly, got 3 syllogisms incorrect and a couple of silly mistakes, i realised that there would be loads of ppl who wud better my score....

In the ques you're prob looking at, there's a quarter circle so prob that's causing the confusion.

almost all CATs have been pretty transparent apart from ofcourse the famus 2003 one which had to be repeated...........the iims do release a key but it comes out sometime in december and obviously we cant wait that long......lol.........so u can obviously get ur di and ps marks on the same day after the keys are released.........the va keys are a problem though.........TIME had 5 questions wrong last year and ims 3..........so u can't be sure about ur va marks before the 9th of jan 2009.........last year someone from my college got a score of 176 from the ims key...........on result day he ended up getting 161 marks which indicates 3 qs wrong in english(still got a percentile of 99.9.........
