Thank you santhosh . It went pretty smoothly , it was not at all intense or aggressive unlike others we usually face at MBA PI . Had to answer straight to the point for the questions good or bad that were put across at me , that was their requirement is what they must have felt.

Why SDMIMD?

Hello Santhosh,
The consolidated list will declared only after the final confirmation from the candidate side.Till that time it will be very confusing to state any names in the list as many candidates are opted out from the procedure.
To avoid such confusion,admission office is not uploading the required list in the midst of the procedure.Hope this will justify your query.

Hello Ashwin,
Congratulation that you have converted your call.
Very few companies have the eligibility criteria ,others don't have such criteria,but still you need to justify of not having good BE records at the time of final placements.
This year,placement at SDMIMD was bit on the lower side but still we are trying to pull more companies for the next placement season.We have already taken few initiative to address placement issues.
And finally there is room for creative person in all walks of life and the same is true for SDMIMD as well.

Well, the processing of waiting list completely depends on the accept/rejection of the seats by merit list holders. And the info is completely internal to the college. So what I suggest is to be in touch with admissions office and be updated with the college website to know your status. Few of them have already got calls. So dont lose hopes.

Why SDMIMD?

Hi,

Hostel Life is quite good. This is with respect girls hostel. The facilities in girls or boys hostel is more or less same ..

1. Single spacious occupancy rooms with study table, chair, shoe rack, bed and wardrobe.

2. Common 2 wash rooms , 2 bathrooms and 2 wash basins for every cluster of 10 rooms.

3. One common TV at the lobby area in the ground floor which people hardly use coz you will have lot of other things to do ! :P

4.24 hrs drinking water (both cold and hot water) facility available.

5. We have hot water supply from 6.30 AM to 8.30 AM. Sundays its quite late as people usually wake up only by 8.AM

6. We have a Dhobi who regularly visits 4 times a month.. You can give as many number of clothes to him .. He charges around 190/- per month. But if one wishes wash by himself, you are again welcome :)

7. You have newspapers delivered to you every day. ( the news paper is again according to your preference). The paper will be kept in the lobby area with your name and room no on it.

8. We have good number of balconies and a big terrace. This gives a good view of college and chamundi hills. (P.S - We had fun flying kites this sankranthi on terrace :P)

9. There is weekly visits of doctor. Matron is quite cooperative and makes sure we visit doctor in case of problems.

10. All the problems dealing with electricians and plumbers are addressed with atmost priority.

P.S - There is a new hostel ready for both girls and boys considering the new intake. That has come up really well ! Hostel life here is quite comfortable, It again depends how well you use it :)

Hi bubbles,

No question can be silly ! The hostel details is quoted above.

There is no dress code as such. But one can wear casuals like jeans only for the regular classes. But during your class presentations, Guest lecture one has to wear strictly formals. Formals for girls can be salwars, kurtis and leggings or western formals. But during your placement interviews, international trip and volunteering activities in college fests, one has to wear western formals only. The college would provide one pair of stitched Blazer and trousers in 3 rd term (Somewhere in January). However it would always be good if you carry one pair of western pair of formals along with Indian formals in case you are volunteering in fests or participating in inter college fests.This would suffice till the college itself provides you one :)

You would have received a mail from SDMIMD congratulating on your offer. The mail would have mentioned the date on or before which the payment has to be made. You would also receive a hard copy of the offer letter. Please be in touch with the admissions office till you pay and get the payment confirmed. Let me know in case of further queries.

Yes there is a playground for sports. Also we have a indoor stadium for indoor games. You'll find many soccer fans at SDMIMD. There was infact something called Soccer Premier League - season 1. All thanks to the Soccer maniacs out there.. It was fun cheering our favorite teams out there !!! :)

There are different parameters considered for the final call along with your CAT score and academics. Your essay writing, PI, extra curriculars and Work Ex (if any) matters too. However don't lose hopes. Since the waitlist is being processed, you can expect a call anytime. Be updated with the college website to know your status.

Yes, There is a separate hostel for girls. Considering the intake for both the batches 2011 -2013 and 2012 -2014 is 180, there is yet another new girls hostel built in the same campus which will be only filled in case the old girls hostel is full.
