Hello ppl....
Have a strange problem here....
I have always been a constant performer in English...I got school highest in my XII boards in the subject, and was always in the top 1-2 of my class...even amongst my college friends, I am labelled as having the best skills in the language..
However, I am not going strong in my VA preps for CAT...I am good at vocab (FMS type questions), but somehow RC stresses me out...
I want to gt some expert tips on how to tackle RC..should we read the passage first, or the questions??
First of all, it is very good that you have scholastic achievements. This will definitely help you during the "next 3 years" (hope you have documents supporting the same :)). Now, put that on the backburner. Past is past...how well we manage in the present (aka cat preparation) is what matters!!
Buddy, the FMS question level is easy (no offence intended)...because the emphasis is on the speed. Work out questions from the XAT and CAT levels, as the former is the mother of all management entrance exams in India in terms of toughness (last year, many people had heart-attack when the XAT paper was given to them

).
You are in the initial stages of this year's preparation, so I would suggest you try building your speed by reading more and more of passages. Get comfortable with "reading/skimming the passages first->answering the questions", and then try to get comfortable with "reading ques->scanning passage for answer".
All the best :).
AFAIK, there are no fee reductions as such for the SC/ST students in the IIM's...but some IIM's do have income based fee waivers..!!
Each IIM has its own policy regarding those waivers..!!
