Simple logic. They have the quota for name sake. They have the seats but will not reduce the cut off, so that the opportunity for the low percentilers in categories doesnt occupy a seat. The category seats will b converted to general later.
It is unfair but has to be accepted as the category students have scored less.

IIT M totally mocked me lol, by making the sectional cut-off some 58.08 haha this was my 2nd attempt, IDK if I'll be able to give exams 1 more year. PU-UBS is the only option left otherwise. wasn't able to fill DU MBE-MFC or MIB forms :banghead:

anyways I am thinking of dropping a mail to the admissions committee asking the reason for the differential calls. If its 1:2 for our categories why not the same treatment for the general category.

Also if i dont get a satisfactory answer i plan an RTI query or a case since this is clear discrimination and different criteria for different categories.

After having two bomb blasts from IIT delhi and NITIE. What can we expect from FMS.

Obviously FMS is a good institute compared to both.

Any idea what could be its cutoff for SC category.

Till last year, FMS call getters were required to go to Delhi as the GD-PI-Extempore sessions were held at their campus only.

In general, except the IIMs, most of the insttitutes have this policy of holding the GDPIs at their own campus.

I would suggest it would be good if you wear a tie.

If you are not wearing it, it may ( I am saying may ) become a bad impression.

But I hv it in my mind from sometimes now.

Do We people face problems during placement in B-schools because our profile is not that strong as profile with gen category students......N I am just 6 months experienced....what is the exact scene regarding freshers in top B-schools..

Seniors pls throw some lite on it as fee now a days is too much as per my standards....

This question has already been dealt with by Prem bro and I just wanted to support his views. See, all the companies have their own shortlisting criteria, some companies look exclusively for freshers for a batch, some come looking for guys with 1/2 years experience, while others may require 3+ years of experience and even others have niche sectoral experience requirements. Now obviously after being shortlisted by a particular company, everyone is on the same level playing field. And generally all the B schools look to bring companies for finals that would fit their student mix. So even if you are not selected for Company X, where you find experienced guys being shorlisted, next time may be the other way round.

But yeah, after being shortlisted, its the same for everyone. The final outcome depends on what you have done in those 2 years,and how you perform in the 20 mins in front of the panel.

Its natural for you to have these queries, but I would advise you to focus on the upcoming GD PIs.

Dude, first of all best of luck 2 u. my qstn is, the 6 new IIMs have mentioned about WAT(writing ability test) and PI process only....apart from these did they include GD too?:shock:

I am not sure that category seats can be converted to general.

Simple logic. They have the quota for name sake. They have the seats but will not reduce the cut off, so that the opportunity for the low percentilers in categories doesnt occupy a seat. The category seats will b converted to general later.
It is unfair but has to be accepted as the category students have scored less.

If a candidate is selected for all the 3 (C,L,K) and doesnt appears for one of them ... will it affect his/her chances in getting into new IIM's ??? The marks will be taken (average) from other two interviews ?? Am I correct ??? 3rd one will not be considered ?

This was not my day, first it was wiht my application form, which i did not fill ol n submitt :banghead::banghead: and secondly with avg performance in GD ...
Really thankful to the IIM Ranchi ppl :):),for allowingf me to attend the GD .... dono whether they will evaluate my performance or not :|...but stil happy that got an oppurtunity to take part in GD..........

i have one query.query is,
in IIM interview panel will ask my file to see my documents right so what should i suppose to keep in my file means whether i keep only original documents or xerox or should i keep all engineering mriginal marksheet which has more lenght not possible to accomodate in A4 size file.
pls shower some experiance on my query who has completed IIMs interview till date

Keep all the originals in a single file, in perfect order. Preferably from ur latest qualification. Keep all the markshhets and not just final year mark tsheets. give this file to the interviewer when he asks for it.

Keep all ur xeroxes in a diff file or bag. If thats too cumbersome make sure that u keep all photocopies outside wen u enter the interview. U dont want a situation where ur photocopies keep falling out of ur bag.

Buy a bigger file, and try fitting the originals as well as u can in them.

ATB
