Guys,

We know that you have been waiting for this thread for 2010...

Every individual believes that he/she can win inspite of all the odds, even when near & dear say "You can't"

This thread is for those underdogs who have been trying hard, very clear about their goal, havent given up due to ups & downs in their mock scores

What is the team all about????

The concept of an underdog team evolved some years back, where in a team of 11 hard working dreamers are selected, they help each other, they work together in fullfilling their dreams...

Total 16 members will be selected democratically (Captain + 10 playing members + 2 Reserves + 2 Cheerleaders + 1 Coach). But everyone else is welcome to take part in the journey of UDT till CAT and post CAT also.

How do I apply???

Just make your nomination here on this thread with a link to your Mock CAT scores..Based on the selection criteria, your scores, your attitude etc etc etc, you will be taken in to the team, THE UNDERDOGS team..

Selection criteria:

1. Should have scored less than 100 rank in more than one AIMCAT/SIMCAT/MOCK CAT or any other institute's exam

2. Should be a dreamer, a firm believer, should have the fire in the belly...

Rules:

1.Only one post per person (edit the same for additional information)
2.It should be self nomination & no soap box stuff allowed in any form ie dont market for your friends by posting here or sending PMs/calling the selectors
3.Kindly post your mock scores (for the exams held) in the same nomination post & keep editing the same as when you get your results for the next coming up mocks

Puys who dont follow the rules would automatically loose a chance to be selected ie disqualified..

Results to be declared on : 10.08.2010 (tentatively)

Being a part of this team was always a pleasure...so dont loose out by not nominating on time...

Then why follow path which you can't justify.
If its creates confusion, then there is something wrong and IIMs should be able to justify it. If not, don't follow it.

They won't, simply because it will create more confusion. Cases will be there where lesser raw scores have been mapped to higher percentiles.
Basic problem is : difficulty level of a slot depends on perception. For example; my weakness is in geometry. In my slot there were as many as 4-5 geome...

why not release all the questions that came in each slot on their site....the way they appeared during the exams...nt the modified ones...and try to explain the methodology they used to evaluate the 18th nov slot(alex,aravind,implex) which had 6 wrong in qa itself and many other slot....

Always its a bouncer. The data we want to see is:
1) Individual raw scores
2) Normalization scales for each slot.
3) Scoring policy on wrong questions.

@targetcat: we all are with you on same boat, look at me this was my 6ht CAT attempt and what nomalisation has done to me, i gave on 18th slot with implex, they have given no weigtage to wrong Q's and all.Lets leave it right now, too much of CAt thingie

XII - 85.1 (From West Bengal board, and these were good scores at my time, but not now)
B.Tech - 7.95. But due to some weird criteria, we have to reduce it by .75 and then cal...

The links which had the shortlisting criteria and the final selection crietria for 2011-2013 are gone.
Seems IIMK cannot find enough candidates on the basis of those criteria.
Thats why the delay.
Or another round of Psychometric Prometricization

IIMs-B,I,K are busy applying another random no generator over the existing one.Its a tough job and takes time.The results obtained will be further 'normal-ized' and 'psycho-metrized' and if thats not enough some AR/PR/DR/TR rating will be taken into account also.
If only they had made a simila...

the problem here is that things are wrong but nothing will be done about that.
People who are incharge of this should be responsible enough to accept any glitches or flaws and look into them. They should be the ones who should check if normalization is done properly. A team of faculty members ...

I will just say try and convert C by hook or by crook.
God Forbid, if you need to attempt again next year, you might not even get the call.
If you want an example, look at me Only K call last year, and no call this year :P
So don't be disappointed you don't have 'A' call coz most of us...

So far only L call.
Ding from A.Although I'm clearing the sectional and overall cutoffs for A but my Application Rating(AR) is 20 that falls short by 1 mark from the cutoff.
Dings from both PGDM and PGDCM from C.Wasn't expecting PGDM call but had some hopes for PGDCM considering last year's...

Not sure what to say. Went through this when I got a 58%ile in one section,when I knew I was "not that bad".
I'll only suggest don't make CAT ur only option. They are not worth it, at least till they go the Adaptive way.
