hi.... anyone from TAPMI's PGP 2 here... i needed some information from the student activities committee. i am a pgp 1 student at iim indore, and had some queries regarding the events in TAPMI.

@[491080:sudheervar], I guess the choice must be with you, not with institutes. Prepare well, break your boundary, build conviction. You can take a cue, this year percentiles ranged from 86-99. Admissions process changes year-on-year. Yet the thing that will never change is TAPMI considers a holistic approach while selecting fitting candidates - that is why qualifying test is just THE first step. Good Luck.

Please go through the previous posts to get an idea. The percentile scenario is expected to register a paradigm shift from the next year. Remains to be seen! Till then, prepare! :)

wow awesome 7days left for the classes to start,and u asking what room u want...u shud be awarded nobel prize...

anyways,
at tapmi,weather is pleasant hence generally u dont need AC...bt there are people who opt for AC, if u feel like,go ahead and opt for ac rooms...

also,large or small depends on u,whether u want spacious rooms for that extra 10-15k per year...or can manage with a small room...


P.S. I have opted for non ac small room

TAPMI rules and regulations will only teach you to be prompt and get your prepared and ready for the future work assignments and pressure you would need to undergo so I would say it is just a part and parcel of training and learning.

Have to reservations one on 21 june MANGLA EXP JHANSI to UDIPI 2nd AC waiting 1 from the last 1 and a half month :(
On 22 JUNE MANGLA EXP JHANSI to UDIPI 3rd AC waiting 4 from the last 1 and a half month :(
Does any one have the same problem and experience that the ticket will get confirmed or not.

Its always difficult to get the waiting list cleared in AC and that too During such a scorching summer. Have a backup option ready buddy like a Tatkal or Flight. See you in campus buddy

In a way its sad, but I guess, if these rules, put the bad elements in check, then I am in for it. I'd rather be oppressed than live with drunk, loud mouthed, disrespectful morons.

This is not to you only. This is for all.

Guys, TAPMI is known for its academic Regor, and that also requires discipline on campus. If you are a person who just can't bear rules, TAPMI is not a place for you. You have to follow rules.

Please understand that I am not trying to scare you or something, but I am putting the truth in front of you all. And I guess, many a times I have mentioned this in my various posts also.

So take a decision after evaluating all the parameters.

PS: lets not debate on this as I am not the authority on rules. Read rules and if you are comfortable with those rules, welcome to TAPMI.

Collared tees a re preferred but there is no problem with round neck as well but it should be good enough to be in an academic set up.

10,12 grad- 82,56,65 respectively how much d i hav to score in cat or xat to get this college

Could the TAPMI PRs confirm if a suit is absolutely necessary, or a formals minus the blazer would suffice?else I would have to stitch a new suit which of course, would he happy to do over the course duration..

I'm a bit concerned if I could get my suit stitched in a week's time.

1. You will require formals for some presentations and some other occasions but smart casuals is the dress code. It means you can wear jeans and t-shirts but it should not be too funky to be in an academic set up.
2. You will require suit for your Induction, interview for summer internship or for some events where you want to lead the show.

Now regarding rules, c'mon you want yourself to be transformed from a graduate to a person who can take business decisions which in effect will increase your market value and you don't want to do some hard work and sacrifice for that transformation!! Think over it. This sacrifice is worth it, don't you think so? :)

Notice the part in bold, they expect me to take business decisions; for almost two years they will decide what I wear, drink, when I come to hostel and who comes to my room, I mean seriously they are going to check my siblings' gender before allowing them in my room? And then the very next day after my course I am supposed to start taking decisions, lead the world towards light and as G. Bush Jr. would have put it, become a DECIDER. Funny, no?

I guess its all a matter of perception, I can look at these things as a sign of oppression or just funny peculiarities that are nothing but small irritants.

Anyway we can discuss these things when we meet in person.

There was nothing that I found offensive, just some rules that I don't agree with. This will happen in every environment, no? Don't pay too much attention to my rant, students seem to have a lot of fun there. Its really none of my business, but between TAPMI and IIFM I don't think you really have a choice. But then it's your call, to each his own I guess.

And I am still grateful for the chance to study there and still remember the feeling of relief when I got that mail just 5 days after the interview. Hmmm... I tend to get repetitive.

Got another mail from TAPMI today, the one about check list. Every time I get a mail it upsets me. All the rules and the promise of severe punishments in case of non adherence, I already feel insulted.

Anyway, am still grateful for converting the call and remember how relieved I felt when I got the mail, just that am not as enthusiastic about joining. What is worse, is that, I am afraid I will get in trouble with the admin for the rules I find oppressive. Anyway these are just preconceived notions and the faculty seemed really cool at the interview, so lets hope for the best. I guess we will find out in a month or two.

Hmmm... with the rant over I would request the seniors to shed some light on the dress code as we will have to pack our bags accordingly. The mail says formals/ semi-formals for the classes, are jeans and T-shirts (even collared) not allowed from our batch onwards??

And whats that with the formal suits at the induction, I dont have one, it is cumbersome to carry one during traveling and its hot, why would I wear a suit? Really need seniors to clarify this.
