I have a query on the availibility of loans for the course. Does the institute help us process the loans, considering they have a tie-up with SBI. And assuming the fee structure to be around 10 lakhs, will the bank provide for a collateral-free loan.

i did get a mail stating that the payment had been received and that my admission was confirmed...i had sent it by post...and the mail came approx 24hrs after the delivery...

Well when I talked to Mr Thakur, he said that the whole thing will cost not more than 11 lakhs... i was shocked...

After a couple of days, My father talked to him again, and he explained the fee structure.. the tuiton fee for this year is 2.75 lacs (.25 more than last year) and hostel fee is 75,000 rupees. So total for a year is 3.5 lacs... For 2 years , its 7 lacs... and apart from that other expenses, (laptop, books etc) around 2 lacs...

So total it will cost around 9 lacs (7 lac fee plus 2 lac sundries)

There is also an optional global immersion program fee of around 1.5 to 2 lacs..

So now I am not so shocked about the figure 11 lacs.. it includes EVERYTHING...

Hope that helped.. but this info is purely hearsay.. though i'm sure i'm not mistaken, i hope there isnt anything more to add to that figure....

It is reasonable to be curious about these things at this point of time. Let me try and address your issues.
First, the exact fee structure will be sent to you along with the final offer letter. The details of bank loans available and the procedures to obtain them will also be sent. You will get sufficient time to arrange for everything.

Second, the hostel is on a twin sharing basis for the 1st year people. You're given a bed, a cupboard, a study table and a mattress. Rest everything you'll have to bring. Again, all these details will be sent to you with the offer letter. For your shopping part, just remember it'll be really hot initially and then it'll rain cats and dogs. A survival kit for MICA will come to you soon. It will list all the things you need to bring along. So just wait for it. Any specific queries, please shoot.

Also, it' be more convenient if you can take your queries to the Orkut/ Facebook links given above.

hey guys..im also admitted to mica 2010-2012 batch
had my ge /pi on 8th april.
a couple if things i know abt the question sposted her:
1. the total fee is around 11 lakhs
and that includes everything.hostel,mess etc etc.
2.in first year we will be having double occupancy. in second year they will give us single occupancy room
thats all i know as of now!!!

For the people coming from bombay and around, one of my friends is in mica 2nd year... she is currently in mumbai doing her summer internship... we had a talk and she said that we could meet all the mica people currently interning in mumbai (which is quite a large number)... i think that would be really apt for queries.... i hope people from other cities could work out similar arrangements or they cud always come down to mumbai over a weekend..... so wat say... first weekend after 22nd, i.e. after the final results are declared
