I totally agree with Kushmakarsharma. It's like 5 seats filled in 1 day(on the spot offers). so, even in 9 days , only 45 will be filled(taking an average 5 seats). Still, 75 are left.(Though, even thinking about On the spot admission brings a glitter in my eye):biggrin:
Moreover , if i am gud enough, MICA needs me in the same vein as i need MICA:razz:
It's all about survival of the fittest.
Lets give it our best shot. Rest will fall in place.

Sorry for the factual error in my previous post... 5 got spot offers, yes.

And well, someone asked about rejects... By that, I meant to say that MICA tells those people who did not make the cut at all, that they are not through. Makes sense, you don't need to sit and speculate and jeopardize another BSchool entry waiting for the MICA result. Total transparency in the process this time.

Anyways, since the GEPI is in Ahmedabad, I guess you guys will have to wait till these people get home, to hear the story

u can come from udipi to mumbai through matstagandha express.... n then from mumbai to ahemdabad..... thr r many trains... like gujrat express... etc..

can somebody tell me how many calls have been out for how many seats available at MICA this year?
and last year how many have been offered spot admissions? on wt basis is the spot admission offered?
and looks like there is no mention about the batch profile on the MICA website... can somebody throw some light on this...?

yeah in GE, i feel the most crucial task will be downsizing a list from about 10 to 5 , once that is done we can get to down to 3 easily even with one minute to spare.

GE basics

Most of the truths about GDs hold true for the GE as well. But I'll try to offer something here too.

1. While ranking your top 10 individually, make sure you think generally and not from an individual point of view. Go along with the crowd. Now I never was a UNO supporter, and took those two out of MY top 3. But the general crowd perception was to go with the UNO. I lost a valuable opportunity here. Even if you defend your one option, with all the logic in the world, the greater good will eventually be taken - and since 7 others have marked one option, the group will see greater reason to go for that, even if your option makes more sense.

2. People will always try to get their options in. Decide before the GE that you will not let it peter out into a fish market. This helps a lot. We had a great know-your-team before getting in that helped us get along very well. All in all, we had a lovely lovely GE. If any of you are reading this...

3. The usual, and best, approach to a GE is: talk about topic for 2 minutes, look through each of the options. Discuss for a minute each, and decide whether we can shortlist them to a top 5. Take no more than a minute each! Yes, it's a challenge!!! And then, from the shortlist, it usually takes a democratic stance, and people will recognize how many people have chosen which and go with greater good. Then, finalise to the top 3. By 19 minutes, you should be ready. If not, someone press the panic button and do it.

4. Polling and voting, per se, is not allowed - so you'll subtly have to figure out which option is popular, and when you select that, people will automatically stand by you.

5. Remember, you have ONLY TWENTY MINUTES to discuss the whole goddamn thing. It's not easy especially with ten options. Manage time or you'll be effed.

That's it, really.
If there are any other doubts regarding the GE, please post them here - I would be glad to try and answer them.
