Damn ! I had the most horrible interview one can imagine.. Still m waitlisted @ 863 ! Damn !

I knew that i will not get through, but still i feel its so stupid on the part of the college people to just publish the rank in the decreasing order of percentiles. i had to go to bangalore and then just had a 5 minutes PI in which the invigilators were hardly interested in listening. Also one of the GD groups was cancelled as the profs did not turn up, hence making the number of people in the GD 15.

On top of that like last year, they did not even bother to give us marks for the GD and PI and then calculate the final merit list, just published the list in the decreasing order of percentile. A waste of my time and their time, these people just need more people to apply to their college and hence call people till low percentile, cheap money making strategy.

A waste of my time, my money and the same for lots of other people who were called. MDI people be a little careful, atleast shuffle the list, everyone is able to guess what you people have done, we are not as big fools as you think we are. Please apply a new strategy from the next time.

And i will post it again ... the same post, so that people read it!!!

iims is iims after al u knw....5-10 years down the line ul stil be called iim graduate!.

im nt saiyin mdi is not as good...both are great.its just ur perspective and wat ud prefer...whether its just abt place, placemnt brand name etc...hope u mak the rit choic!

As i can not compare b schools..but anyday MDI pgpm is better thn new ones...

Dude they are good colleges no doubt ..but mdi is an established college and always in top 15...whereas these new iims have to prove themselves...its upto u to decide whether to go for a new iim or established college like mdi..

Does MDI keep all the marksheets till someone is graduated or they just take the copies and return the originals during admission.

spjain's lists r totally profile based with even a 100 percentiler not getting a call if he/she not hving good profile...many spjain converts maybe having lesser percentiles...ensuring not enugh intersection with mdi lists..

as far as new iims are concerned,4 out of 6 will be giving fight..not all of them..here too division will happen,some will prefer them,some will come to mdi..

Man u r good ..whoever you are...highly appreciating work...and taking pains to save the updated versions too...n guys please listen to him..me to get confused with filters and formulae in Excel....

Hey guys I have done some analysis after the results, I expect the last rank to convert PGPM to go high. Please read n let me know if there is any flaw in my logic.
Factors affecting the cut-off in ascending order:
1. SPJIMR increasing seats by 60
2. IIT B, D taking CAT scores with cut-offs of 98.73 and 98.85. Reputation of IIT B improving: small batch size. IIT D low fees + low batch size. Few people might prefer. Total open seats = 60+60=120.
3. New IIMs increasing open seats by X number. Let me know the number. Conservative estimate would be 100 open seats. Moreover last time some new IIMs started late n with more clarity on placements etc abt the new IIMs coming out, many will go for d IIM brand.
4. FMS: I have gone through the PDFs containing the list of people selected by FMS and MDI last year. I have checked for d 101 people selected by FMS and the first 50 assuming that they have cleared the WL. So of these 151 people only 13 people had a rank below 640 in MDI. So that means because of FMS, the MDI waitlist moved by 13. Now with all 101 people bound to be above 98.73 surely this will have a huge impact on the WL.
There is one assumption that all those who have calls for FMS would have applied to MDI. Worst case I think 70 of the 101 ppl going to FMS would have applied to MDI nad got a high rank in MDI consiedring that MDI results are mostly percentile wise.

spjimr as i alrdy said earlier i dont thnk it will make such a significant dffrnce, coz their process is completely different. I think it will make a difference of just 6-8 seats at max.

New iims : cant say. lets wait and watch

IITS : well i feel there can me many folks who have applied for iits but not for mdi. I am saying this b'coz the forms of IIT's were to be filed after the cat results. Many aspirants who didn't fill up any form before the results get and got a good percentile might end up filling iit's forms, and might even end up taking admission there if they don't have any other option.

But no doubt all these points combined we can hope that the last rank to get admitted can go down this year..

NITIE no doubt if u r a Mechanchee/interested in OPS and SCM...rest both colleges are at same level...only diff of locations rest seniors may throw more light :D

Not to forget the ROI and the CHILLed clg that it is... It shd be NITIE anyday.

Guys please do not apply filters to the Tracker. Instead, search for your name using Ctrl+F.

Otherwise, people who do not know how to use and clear filters, may get confused.

In case that someone goes nuts and deletes the data, is there any procedure in spreadsheet that we can have some contingency backup that gets updated so that we can have it back if such thing happens?
