hello puys...
plz help me out...i have got the final selection letter from iwsb asking me to pay up 25 k by 7th april....i have also been selected in iilm....though both are not aicte approved....but iwsb is totally new....what should i do...where should i take admission...plz reply weighing all pros and cones....

i hve been through ge-pi at ludhiana, it went well and i am selected for it. they are asking me to pay 25000 by 7th april but i am selected for iba bangalore too and i m going for it. anyone would like to give me sm words of advice on that

how much does the aicte certificate cost???? i had a clear one to one talk with one of the faculty...he was clear that they are not moving for an aicte approval.....the cost he told me was in case i wanted to do doctoral research in India....

no doubt the college is goin to do great in future...so i am looking forword to it..only issue is its not AICTE approved?

i totally agree with anish they never said that the construction of building is going on and it hardly takes 6 months for the construction of the building and i have decided to join iwsb, hope to see many of u there.

earlier i was also in dilemma, but today i visited the place where they will built the campus, can u believe that there is no sign of any construction there..
no boards and nothing that land is like a bare land... and i think there are not gonna costruct it for next 2-3 yrs..
nobody knws that land is for iwsb. no board and seriously nothing
if they get failed in their project u will not get ur degree... and in a long run this will not help u.

^In all fairness they did say that the work is about to begin on the site and honestly it doesnt take very long to build a 2 floor building.. it takes like 6 months to build a normal 3 storey house.. completion is a different story altogether though. Its a risk.. but im willing to take it. oh and they arent really offering a degree as of now.. just a non-recognised diploma :P
I did ask one of the interviewers about an MBA degree and he said that they're in the process of tying up with a university to provide a distance learning MBA degree.

Work on the main campus at 15-A Knowledge Park II will shortly commence, and the first phase of the campus is likely to be ready for occupation by April 2009. Our students will enter the new campus soon after their summer internship.
Meanwhile, the first year of the programme at IWSB will be conducted from the premises of Patronage business school at 38 Knowledge Park III. We have taken up the first floor, an area of 11,000 sq.ft., there and are refurbishing the area according to our requirements.
This facility will be fully air-conditioned, and shall be wi-fi enabled. All our students will be provided laptops from IWSB, and will be able to access the Internet from anywhere in the building. It will have fully furnished classrooms with multi-media projection facility, ergonomic furniture, floor carpeting, etc. It will house a well-stacked library with over 1500 titles, 200 journals, electronic journals and databases. It will also have a multi-cuisine cafeteria for students.
We are in the process of renting apartment blocks, close to the campus, and furnishing them for student residence. We will provide 24 x 7 security, and an infirmary. Girls' apartments will be separate. Each apartment will have rooms, kitchen, and bathrooms. Two students will share a room. We will provide dining facility at the same location. A bus will be available for commuting between the campus and the residential blocks.
To summarize, we will spare no efforts to ensure that our students enjoy a wholesome, rewarding and safe stay in IWSB.

But 9 months is a prolonged time to study at a rented premises.. thats for sure! however I have sent the draft of 25k. lets see.

^You should according to the mail that was sent out by them. Mail them and ask 'em just to be sure.
oh and has anyone attended the ge/pi process other than me??

i have applied for iwsb as they said that even your cat percentile is low u can have bright chances if ur verbal score is high...may b sum marketing stuff to attract people...i have a low cat percentile of 60%tile but verbal score is 91%tile....i have still nt got call...i called them also but they are saying that they are still shortlisting people...do i have any chance????

It's down to IWSB and Welingkar for me and im guessing welingkar's a long shot. I'm really hoping for something better than typical MBA education.
Anyway I've already got a call for Group Exercise and PI on 05/03. BTW I had a 81.33%ile in XAT.

Ya i agree, acc to the info i have- infra will b up by dec (till then classes from rented premises) and ofcourse you cant say anythin abt placements bt on their website they hav put gud companies who have in-principle agreed to take in students, bt u still cant predict the packages nd all. But paart from these issues the major area of concern i have is that IWSB is nt AICTE recognised (though i dnt think it shud b a problem gettin the same).
My advice wud b to apply atleast, and see hw it goes. I believe the last date is also near

I have applied to IWSB (Indus World School of Business, Greater Noida)

This B school is promoted by Career Launcher Group, and in my personal opinion its bound to be big in coming years. As this is the 1st yr for this B School, there would b alot of queries, pls pour them in and i would try to rope in Gurus from IWSB itself to answer them.

Also pour in your opinion abt the college/ mentors etc

so far my impression fr iwsb is quite good. reasons-excellent faculty member nd industrial mentors, nice location, an initiative of careerlauncher in corporate world, specialisation in finanace, marketing, hr, IB etc etc and recruitment sign up with leading corporate firms.
only prblm is that first 6 month course will be carried out in rented premises. also it is in process fr aicte approval nd colabration wid any indian university so dat it can provide a MBA degree instead of diploma, but then it is wat most good b-school dont have r8 nw.
i hope it will be a leading b-school in coming years.
