Well, after having gone through almost all the posts about IBS, I guess it is apparent that most views have cancelled each other out.

Yes IBS is not perfect, and it simply cannot keep each student happy, but it does not stop one from developing. If nothing at all (and seriously, to learn nothing, u'll have to lock ur hostel door from the inside and sit there for the full duration of the course!!), each student at IBS learns at least, prioritizing and pressure and stress management.

It is a B-School for god sakes! If people going into Post-Graduation imagine it to be a smooth spoon-feeding ride like that in school or under-grads, you HAVE to be Kiddin yourselves! Nobody is gna tell you what to do and how to do it. YOU have to take the initiative. If you are lazy, even god cant help you straighten out your deal.

Devvrat is very right in saying what he did. I'm an alumni from the batch of 2012 too, and sure it wasn't a cake walk, but we never gave up and stuck to developing ourselves. Many of us Ensured that we were way too busy to let "college bashing" affect us.

Now that we are in the industry, most of us feel we learnt a hell of a lot - without even trying much, from IBS.
Yes, not everything is rosy - but name a college without flaws? you can't cuz there is NONE - there cant be any. We really don't have gods or titans living among us. Humans run the institutes and they make mistakes. You as a student have the option of cribbing about it - which is the easiest thing to do, or to take a tougher path and work towards improving things.

Another thing that I want to add is; as far as reports and project submissions go - one has to be supremely dumb to copy-paste material from the internet. A project is supposed to make one learn, apply and reproduce concepts. If one is so lazy - again, no help can be expected.

Most of us used to read, analyze, break-down, apply and then reproduce our understanding and learnings in the form of a project report. There will always a set of individuals who hate working on reports - but that is an individuals outlook. One cannot generalize it to the complete population of the campus. Also, since grading is so competitive, almost every faculty runs a plagiarism check on every report. One has to be think to assume otherwise!

I'm not here to promote IBS - For me, It is amongst the best B-Schools around, and that is because i'm very secure about my person. Some people aren't and thus it becomes easy to blame all one's failures onto a college which gave one an opportunity to get a degree in the first place.

All I'll say is, if you back yourself, you'll do amazing no matter where you are and what you do. The first thing to do albeit is to ask yourself WHY?
WHY an MBA? WHY a certain college - if the answer is simply Money (which i hope to god is not the only driving force behind your decision!) - you have various colleges who would love to take you, and where you'd love to go. If the answer is to develop skills, realize what management is, truly understand your strengths and weaknesses as a future manager, and live professionalism, you are looking at a totally different set of colleges.

For me, IBS is one of them, for many it may not be. But simply put, it is on you to understand what you really want first, and every college will give u ample opportunities to realise every goal you have in your mind.

Cheers and all the best for your future!
