Respective second lists for Ghaziabad, Nagpur and Hyderabad are out.
Admissions office will remain open on all saturdays, sundays and holidays till May 31, 2011.

Waitlisted Candidates are not supposed to pay admission fee now.

The results link is not working. Can someone tell me when was the second waitlist announced.
Is there any new link to check that.

Just wanted some info on the general criteria of the companies which companies set for placements. Do most of the companies set a criteria for past graduation marks ? Or do they only look at the GPA at IMT?

remitter's no. is nothing but ur account no. in the bank from which u r paying the fee..

One thing - do not trust the IMT website as far as the smaller stuff goes...

The PGDM (Full Time) is actually an error. In previous years PGDM-FT meant Marketing. But people used to get confused. So the management started showing it as PGDM-Marketing from this year (which wasn't showing earlier). But it seems they forgot to remove the "PGDM (FT)" from the website!

The catch here is - about 7-8 years ago, IMT-G had 180 seats. At that time, the programme was called PGDM-FT, and there were no fixed number of seats for each specialization. But for years the management has failed to remove the PGDM-FT from the website. It was converted to Marketing, as seats were added over the years, for all specializations except Marketing (i.e. the original 180 seats were now 180 Marketing seats).

Coming to your particular question. If your result shows that you have been selected for PGDM at IMT-G, it means you have been selected for an MBA at IMT-G, nothing more or less. It does not mean you have been allotted any particular specialization.

PGDM-Marketing, PGDM-IB, PGDM-Fin, PGDM-HR, PGDM-IT all come under the PGDM umbrella (i.e. under the MBA course of IMT-G). The website info is misleading, don't look at it!

To answer your next question, since the above are specializations which come under the PGDM umbrella, there is no difference in fees for each specialization. The total fees for PGDM at IMT-G for 2011-13 are Rs 11.1 L, that's it - no differentials.

Note: There is no "General PGDM" offered at IMT-G. Specializing is compulsory. The first year is "general" - i.e. common for everyone. You study your specialization in second year.

About the aptitude test, we do not have exact details. But it is unlikely to be a CAT type test. It will be more of a test that examines your interests, your ability, etc.
At the time of student registration (i.e. the registration that happens on Day 1 when you join the college), you will be asked to state your preference order of specialization.
Later, your aptitude test performance and your preference order will be together considered to allot you a specialization.

To answer your last question, since there are 180 seats in marketing (and I am assuming your first choice will be Marketing), by an estimate, in the aptitude test, in order to NOT get marketing, you will have to perform worse than 180 others + worse than any number of people who have chosen Marketing as their first preference. This gives you sufficiently large scope to perform. There are many people who want Finance as their specialization (Finance has 120 seats). This will sort of ensure that even an average performance will get you Marketing. So, all in all, your chances of getting Marketing are very good as long as your performance is not really bad.

Lastly, a specialization once allotted cannot be changed, but if there are vacant seats in any specialization, and you want that specialization, you can change, provided you get permission from the Dean - Academics.

P.S.: Break up of seats at IMT-G according to specialization:

Marketing - 180
Finance - 120
IB - 60
IT - 30
HR - 30
Total - 420

Frankly, we do not have an accurate answer to this. Keep checking.

Since the total strength of the 2009-11 batch was 420, can we assume that IMT-Ghaziabad has not been able to arrange placements for all the students? What happened to the 32 odd students? Did they opt out or still looking for a job?

Well.

The placement report published was done before all 420 students were placed. Also, I hope you know that each year, several students opt out" of campus placements, in all B-schools. Some students did opt out of the campus placements of IMT-G too.

Now, the placements are over, whether it is the ones who wanted placement from campus or the ones who took it from outside.

In any case, remember than no B-school apart from the top 3 IIMs and XLRI can guarantee placement to the absolute last few in the batch. Ultimately every student must perform decently not just during the two years of MBA but also during the placement process. Candidates do keep getting rejected if they keep coming up short in the placement process. It is not the college's fault. The college always tries to ensure that its students get the best opportunities available.

can somebody help me regarding how will the allotment of specializations be done. I am very keen on only marketing else do not wish to pursue mba at all. My name has come 5 days after the second list was released, so i presume i cud be among the last 50-80 students admittted. so will i be given a fair chance at aptitude test?

i am pretty sure that the shortlisting cut-off for GHZ is around 94 % in cat ,but that's not the only criteria for being shortlisted..its totally based on one's score in the applicant rating .

Room allotment is random, but generally they try to see that roommates are from different cities. This is done to encourage healthy interaction among the students.

Only double rooms in first year. In second year, your CGPA + participation in extra curriculars (clubs, committees, events etc) will determine whether you are alloted a single or double room.

No uniform. But business formals are necessary during the orientation week, for guest lectures and placement week/ placement activity. In everyday classes you are allowed to wear smart casuals.

I have been searching for the placement reports of PGDM 2009-11 batch but I get very vague figures in the search.

I am interested mostly in knowing the following

1. Profiles offered by companies recruiting from Marketing Dept for Consulting and Sales and Marketing roles.

2. Profiles offered for lateral placement.

3. Are there rules which prevent people from getting recruited in multiple companies? If so, what is the maximum no. of offers one is eligible to get? Do these include PPOs?

Since there are a good number of seats both for Marketing and Finance ... a separate analysis for both wouldn't have been a bad idea. Most of the placement reports we are seeing on PG these days tell about the percentage of students placed in different sectors .... IMT G itself had given such placement reports in previous years ....

I would like 2 know whether the admissions dept is open on saturday, so that i can pay my fees.
Secondly if i send my DD through courier, where should i mention my application num and name(do i need 2 send the copy of email along with DD)

You should mention your Application Number, Name and CAT SR No, on the back of the DD.

Hey guys.....i converted into IMT-G. First time i wrote CAT and its my first convert of my life and i will most definitely join my dream college. Happiest day of my life and i thank all who supported me during the times wen i was down and out...To all who cud'nt make it, i know its just too hard but thats how it is. Regarding the work experience documents I can furnish Appointment letter, Resignation letter and Work experience certificate issued by the company.

Please clarify if salary slips are necessary, can they deny me the admission because of that since I was receiving my salary in the form of check. Your quick reply is appreciated as I need to cancel my admission with the other institute before making payment to IMT. I already went through document verification when i attended PI and they were fine with my work ex documents.

The documents with you are more than enough. salary slip are required in case a person doesnt have workex certificate.

Hi Seniors,
Had a query regarding payment of fees..
Though it is mentioned in the provisional offer letter sent through email that we can pay 1,85,000 through RTGS, but when I enquired about it at the bank, they said the minimum amount of transaction that can be done through RTGS is 2 lacs... They suggested that I can transfer the amount through some NEFT system which os for less amount.... I tried calling the admissions office but no one picked up the phone...
Please let us know whether we can transfer the amount online through Net Banking or NEFT system...
