1. Cutoff Percentile >95 %le as per last year
2. Profile do make a difference every where
3. IMT Gzb only accepts CAT and no other score

Could you please give a comparative feedback on placements of Finance and Full time Courses at IMT Ghaziabad for the latest placements.How are Fin guys doing in plcmnt?Is it that marketing jobs are better than Fin jobs in terms of salary,job profile etc?Also what has been the preferred choice of the students in the current batch?

A minor correction there:

IMT is ranked among the bestfor its Marketing course..but that doesn't make Marketing as the best course! IMT has equally good faculty and course structure for the other streams as well.

It's simply dependent on your personal preferences and goals in life. Don't do the classical mistake many people while going for an MBA.."follow the crowd"..you'll regret it later in life, trust me!

For the current batch(09-11), the strength is 420 (Mark -180,Fin-120,IT&HR-60;,IB-60).

It may be reduced to 360 in the next year....

Marketing is the best course (Even Fin guys would vouch for this!!!).

okay people...the journey has begun now, and if the the start of it is any indicator, its definitely gonna be hectic but quite a learning experience.

Joined the college on Sunday (21st June). Since then, each of us has had..er..a total 2-3 hours of sleep at max But it has its own pluses-interaction with the seniors, faculty, clubs, committees, subjects...its hectic, but it is preparing us for the MBA grind

Checking PG after 5-6 days and no posts in this thread!!! It surely is an indicator of how busy we are right from the beginning!

You forgot the Outbound activities...

Like Metal has pointed out..It has been quite an experience right from the word go.. It's just been four days.. and we've learnt quite a lot.. and to be precise about ourselves. I never knew I can be awake for 4 continuous days with hardly any sleep.. and experiencing the fact that MBA is not just about grades, presentations, projects etc (though we haven't done any of those yet ) and that it has more to do with something relating to YOU is an experience in itself... More later..

1.Is it advisable to join this course considering that I have no work ex and the current economic scenario

2.What sort of profiles are offered to guys doing Majors in IT and Minors in Marketing

To join or not to join is totally ur prerogative dude... but as a suggestion i wud say just analyse ur scenario.. do u hv a good job in hand...?? Wil u able to put in the same efforts and get to a better specialization/college in future than IMT??.. bcoz u know how daunting CAT prep. can b..
Also 1 more thing to note here is IT is not doing much wel (I was in TCS for 2 yrs) but v donno wat is there 2 yrs down the line... As far as job is concerned after two years thats for sure u wud definitely b higher than wat u wud b without an MBA... but wat matters is the field.. u will b offered job mostly by IT majors... SO thats why i said take ur call.. do u wanna work in IT industry?...
2. Profiles?? to tel u d fact IT field is such.. u wud b doing sm or the other job may b exactly poles apart from MBA managerial work... wat matters is whether IT industry interests u or not?? SO i suggest u ask sm senior friends of urs in IT field from the situation..

Yes thats true. Delhi/Ghz police is not so strict abt outsider registered vehicles according to our senior. In anycase by law you are allowed to have an out-of-state registeration for a year. If you are paranoid about it though, as Prateek said you can pay the road tax of UP/Delhi (whichever is cheaper)

Btw wonder how many are getting their motorcycles to IMT? Do bring them along. We ll have a good time :cheerio:

Both my bike and car are Pune registered. I have not had any problem till now. Cops out here don't bug you about an outside registration the way they do in Bangalore or Pune. So just get your bike here, do get the original papers along as well, you should carry them on trips. Get your bike's insurance done from where it is registered so that you can tell the cops that you are here only for a few months for a course and it has been less than a year since you came here. (Refer section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act)

ghaziabad police arent very strict, but dont expect to drive around freely in delhi. even ghaziabad autowalas dont venture into delhi...

PS: dont forget to bring your helmets too. in delhi, even riding pillion requires a helmet...

In case of NOC you can legaly drive your vehicle for a month or two....and then you need to change your number.
A better way is to pay road tax of that particular state and then you can easily drive your vehicle without the need of changing your number....
