I want to withdraw my admission from IMT-G. I called up the office. The person who answered the phone seemed to be in a hurry. He didnt speak properly. All I could get from the conversation is that I need to send a "signed application" (in his words).

Can anyone tell me what the process of refund is and do they send a check for refund? And if anyone had called the office then is the "signed application" that I heard correct.

I have tried sending the mail to admissions@imt.edu . But i got no reply regarding the confirmation. I called them when i had sent my DDs and they told they have received it. Also some puys found out some reseipt number i guess. But there has been no confirmation mail as such. Hope they send it out . I have already submitted my resignation. Lets hope they send out some kind of letter quickly

They are supposed to send us a letter by mid of May which will have all the details........ Mid June is pretty safe to resign.... In all probability classes will commence only after 20th June....

Guys can someone tell me the procedure for refund? To whom should we send a mail or letter? What are the details to be enclosed?
Have anyone applied for the refund before? How long did it take for refund?

The official acknowledgement mails haven't been sent yet...

for confirming ur case, send a mail to admissions@imt.edu
with ur CAT TR No., ur Full Name, Course offered and details of both the DDs...

I know its stupid and very late to ask the question.

Has anyone received teh acknowledgement for the fees paid in teh month of april. I had mailed them twice but no reply and I had not received any hard copy of receipt also.

Well office people may sound rude, but you are sounding illogical.
No one can fix a date for upgradation unless batch starts and college comes to know exact number of drop-outs.

And don't worry. Upgradation process will be completely transparent and according to merit list. Details of the same will be communicated once your batch starts.

Well I 've just read somewhere in the post that the next list will be out by 15 may.
Moreover, I never questioned the trasparency of the upgradation process. It was just an info that I wanted to share.

I asked when is the session starting for our batch.He told me between 26th and 30th june.I have no idea whether these dates are for orientation or for regular classes.
But he also confirmed we will be getting official letter from IMT by mid may.So probably that would clear all our doubts.

I am sure there must be many clauses in the AICTE rules working in favour of Institutes.

May 15th is not the final fixed date. Its a safe date to withdraw admission.
If you guys want exact date, kindly call them.

I don't want to call them because if I keep on calling them every now & then, they will surely get pissed of and will stop giving me information which i pass on to you guys.

There will be a laptop bulk deal once your course commences.
Last time, bulk deal was for dell latitude model. Students got laptop for flat 50,000 when its market price was 75,000 rupees.

And there will be student loan tie up also with some bank.

All non commerce graduates,
please read accounting before your course commences. Else it becomes very difficult.

Take accounting text books of 11th and 12th standard and complete it. they are easy to understand and kind of perquisites for all MBA courses.

From finance people have got into companies like GE, American express, wipro, sebi, sbi, E&Y;, PNB, UBS, Tata motors, e-clerx, genpact, BD etc.
All the profiles i wont be able to tell you right now. Even we will come to know abt profiles which different people from out batch got once session reopens.

I am not a senior but will try and answer ur query based on what I know......
Its like based on ur preference a waitlist will be prepared for every stream.....So its not a single waitlist which is moving......Now if u have got IT and are looking for say FT then it depends wat preference u have given to FT in ur list......Say there is a guy A who has filled just FT and Finance in his preference sheet.......Now he might be in waitlist and it could happen that some other guy with a lower total score might have got IT ,say guy B( as it would be high on his preference sheet)........... But in the FT waitlist movement guy A would be having a better merit than B and so will get thru FT before guy B......
......Its a lil complex but I hope u get the point....


P.S: Actually one of the guys on PG (Diablo) went to the campus and he shared this info on the thread......U can just go back a few pages on this thread and the other IMT results thread which is running..... Not sure where he posted.....

They told that their is no predecided date for upgradation (I 've got IB at Ghz and wanted fin) and will be sending the letters as soon as someone drop out. one more thing, they told if I take my fee back within 1-2 days i 'll get full refund less 1000.

Seniors are u aware of the upgradation process.. .. I mean are the ones who are selected given priority and once they move up the ladder those who are waitlisted will be give a seat (which sounds logical ) .

wait for the provisional letter.. after that make two drafts as given in the letter..and send it.. otherwise u can call them up n ask..
