I got through Full Time (2nd preference) which is essentially Marketing / operations.

Just wondering if there is anyone with finance seat and wants to make a swap for a full time seat. I know chances are very bleak but still trying for it.

Few questions:
1) Why is this mail coming from imtghaziabad@live.com? Shouldn't it come from admissions@imt.edu?
2) Why is the date of joining mentioned as June20th? It is actually June 22nd na?
3) How come they suddenly lost my address? They recently sent me the confirmation letter and have given the details of registration and that i should report at IMT on 22nd.

i dont think tht will b a problem, u say ur frnd to cal te admi dpt n let them know the things, there wil definitely b a way 4 ur frnd to make into IMT...n since the course is starting frm 22nd, ur frnd will get some extension as far as the date of fee submission is concerned..

My room mate got thru IMT (IB).Since he has been waitlisted in IMT for couple of months now, he had completely lost hope and dint check his result.Fortunately,i found out that he had converted IMT and got IB only today and the last date according to the site is 14th june(i.e today).
He dint even recieve any hardcopy with the confirmation.He wants to take it up but doesnt know what to do.
Can any IMT student or any puy who knows what to do guide us.
Its kinda urgent as he also has to resign from the company in a weeks notice(assuming classes start from 22nd june)

`I have been shortlisted to the IMT- G (IB) course.I just got the letter today.I gave it 3rd inj my preference list after Full Time and Finance.Now, I am supposed to pay the fees by June 17th.

I plan to go only if I get Full Time or Finance.Now, I would like to know if I should pay my fees by that date to and wait for me to get shortlisted to the FT and Finance..In case, my course doesn't get upgraded will I get the refund of the fees?

I am assuming that out of 420 people, at least 200 will go with college bulk deal. I have been negotiating with companies with 200 as order size.

Once new batch comes, we will tell you the final company, model, configuration and price. All those interested in bulk deal will then have to give cheques to us. Most probably you guys will get 2 weeks to submit cheque. Then delivery will be within 2 working weeks. So within a month of joining college you guys will get your laptops. Trust me within this 1st month you wont need a personal laptop and you all can easily manage with computer labs.

I had applied for cancellation of my admission on 13th may and received the check on 5th june,minus one thousand rupees.I hope this cools down some people who have been nervous over their money-like i was!

The institute IMT is in Raj Nagar and there are quite a few hotels very nearby, nearest being 'Krishna Sagar' .... Rents vary as per room....

Hi seniors, I just wanna know whether banks would be available @ the time of registration and admissions, on 22nd June since it is a Sunday.
My father is accompanying me and he would be returning on 22nd itself. I understand he has to give security for me to apply for a loan. If the bank officials are available on Sunday at the time of admissions, it would be easy for me to apply for loan. Otherwise I have to arrange for my father to be available for few more days.
Again help me if there are any hotels nearby for stay.

We have seen few cases where people directly converted FT or Finance from waitlist when there were people with confirmed admission in IB, IT or HR waiting for up gradation. This proves the point that there is separate waitlist for each branch
Q) How this waitlist was prepared ?
Ans) Depending upon the branch preference and overall rank of the candidate IMT prepared the waitlist, analyzing how many seats got vacant last year for respective branches For e.g. Suppose last year in FT 90 seats got vacant in the initial counseling this year they prepared the waitlist for FT with just 60 people to play it safe by all means. Similarly with the other branches.
This is an example of how I feel the list was prepared (hypothetically)
Like in
FT - 120 confirmed seats + 60 waitlist people
FIN - 60 confirmed seats + 40 waitlist people
IB - 60 confirmed + 20 waitlist
IT - 60 confirmed + 20 waitlist
HR - 60 confirmed + 20 waitlist

Q) What went wrong ?
Ans) Though IMT was trying to play it safe this process went wrong, reason
Till last year written weightage was high around 70 % but this year it doesn't seems to be the case as many candidates between 96-98%ile got thru, so those people who converted in the initial list last year had percentile of usually 98 + and several other calls of IIM, NITIE, MDI hence attrition was high. Even this year there are people with these calls but relative number is far less. Also people in the range of 96 to 98 who converted have calls from institutes from IMI or level institutes so IMT is there 1st preference thus the movement is far less.
Q) The impact it had on the waitlist ?
Ans) The waitlist dint clear as was expected by management, not even movement of 60 in FT and hence there might be cases when a guy is waitlisted for FIN or FT with overall performance better than few candidates (from confirmed list of IB, IT or HR).
So the situation now is
FT - 120 confirmed seats +10 people still waiting
FIN - 60 confirmed seats + 10 people still waiting
IB - 60 confirmed + 5 people still waiting
IT - 60 confirmed + 5 people still waiting
HR - 60 confirmed + Complete waitlist
Stuck in such a scenario its not possible for IMT to come out with a waitlist, actually I feel that IMT trying to implement a new process of admission messed it up this time.

A satisfactory explanation indeed, but its just another speculation. We don't realy know what is going on in there. Its a way of self-compromise and making ourself feel, we are afloat. Even its a way of justification for applying to IMT
But what we havent considered in all those discussions in we have a lot of ppl who applied IMT and not in PG.
Also there are a few, who got rejected from IMT, who maynot come upfront to accept their defeat. Its anyhow a wait-and-see game

4) NO TRANSPARENCY AT ALL !!!!!! i know few other colleges also dont come out with proper lists n all but we have a very dangerous trend here. will come to that later.

Now this year...Our own diablo who is very active and all wld know him and his case, got IT in the first list I belive. plz correct me if im wrong. wanting to upgrade to FT from IT he had to wait untill May end list. Again plz correct me if im wrong.
