Could anyone please tell, what are the profiles offered in Finance to experienced guys (2-3 years).

for d last 2 yrs ,the minimum work experience required to be eligible for the lateral placement at IMT G is 22 months..this is d cutoff decided by the chairman placements.

However different companies ask for students with different months of work ex to be considered as laterals
So it could be 12 months+ as in wid sm IT companies..

Unfortunately, all the telecom companies did not consider our IT work ex for their lateral profiles.
(Me 2 was one of d sufferers )

I have some more queries.

Website gives us the information about companies visiting the campus, avg, mean salaries... But, can you please tell us in a bit detail as per following questions:

1) What are the best profiles offered for Marketing or Fin or IT?
And if you can disclose approx pkg ranges..
(I understand giving pkg figures may not be feasible, but approx range)

2) Approx how many students got into those profiles from each stream (FT/Fin/IT)?

3) Leaving apart the best/ top shot placements, what are the general profiles and pkg range -- for each of the courses?

4) What is the prior experience duration for one to be eligible to sit in laterals?

5) If my experience is in IT, for what kind of roles/profiles it is considered as lateral entry? (As this experience may not be relevant for many profiles offered)

6) As heard from seniors, IMT has got a very good name in Marketing and most of the profiles offered are related to sales. In that case, profiles offered to FT students are widely justified. But, what are the profiles offered to financial stream guys? Are we getting core finance jobs (Other than Investment Banking/Treasury , as they are offered in select very few bschools)

7) Are there any people going for IT Consultancy?
(Other than Pre-sales, Project basis Business Analysts)
If yes, what are the companies recruiting them into such roles?

This is the only offer letter that u r supposed to get.And i guess it should contains all the details about the fees to be deposited in first installment.
About the joining date most probably it would be 26th of june so u can resign accordingly.Total fees structure must be in the prospectus of IMT.

Be rest assure that process is fair and transparent.This process has been followed at IMT over the years except last year.Last year due to the quota status the ranks were given.
Waitlist movement will happen once the people who have got admission confirm there seats.So before that nothing can be said about it.Fairness of the process can be viewed when the upgradation will happen.

HI Ankur, there is no doubt in our minds regarding the waitlist movement.......
But just some doubts come to mind when one tries to think y wouldnt the institute disclose ranks and wait list nos when it would have been calculated anyways by the addmt dptt. just displaying an additional num along wid result wldnt have caused much havoc but would have settled a lot of nerves. all im trying is say is can u put some light so as to y ranks werent disclosed.....??? guys with admits to others intitues ( not at par with IMTwould consider other options rather waiting for fisrt list and then for consequent lists without knowing their actual status

I believe, once you will get the seat for any stream, you will have to accept it to be eligible for next upgradation same like happening now.

The placements for finance batch has been great.It was the first batch of 60 finance students passing out.
It was a mix of consultants,banks and kpos offering the major chunk.
Also,on comparative terms the jobs offered for finance is more or less same across d major b-schools but for d biggies thts IIM A,B,C and XLRI

Campus life is really good.IMT has a lush green campus you might have seen if u have visited the campus.We have classes from 8:30 to 13:30 from monday to friday for first years.
Mess food is good,better than you'll get in most of the campus across india.Its not so hot in ghaziabad still u can arrange for your coolers in your room.Whole IMT campus has wi fi connectivity.You'll get many intra sites here having lots of movies,songs and other stuff to watch also.People here generally used to be awake till 4 in the morning.
So there is always a buzz around in the campus.
Hope i have replied sufficiently to all your queries.

Had no better work to do at office so to pass the time, i just checked the MDI call getters list. As an exercise, what i did was to take their CAT Reg no and checked their results on the IMT results page....

Good news is that there are a high number who have converted IMT PGDM & Finance. I did not actually check the whole list but went thru the first couple of pages....


This surely is good news for the waitlisters and people who are hoping for upgradation.....:drinking:

So waitlisters and upgradation seekers, lets pray for these guys to convert their MDI calls or better... :cheers:

Offer letter mentions that DD must be drawn on any scheduled Bank, payable @ Ghaziabad.
Are Nationalized Banks (eg SBI) or private banks (eg IDBI, ICICI, HDFC) Scheduled Banks? Will DD drawn on above mentioned banks be accepted?

All admissions are provisional only, until u r actually enrolled in their course.
Reason being, there r several process to be followed by the instt. before enrolling a candidate in its course like timely collection of fees, verification of all docs and info, confirming etc.
so theres no point in the debate over 'Provisional' admission in IMI Vs IMT...

IMT-G gives speacialization along wid the offer only.U have got thru PGPM - FT.

If someone gets thru PGPM - FIn, PGPM- IT, PGPM - HR or PGPM - IB, then there offer letter explicitly mentions there course.

There wont be any later declarations.

I am not sure what u mean by normal pgdm prog.To make urself clear please go thru brochure of IMT and have a look at courses offered by them
