I have a serious query now...

I got a call for the Hyd/Nagpur campus based on my cat score
But my xat score is v good so i was waiting for the call based on that
But it seems that all the 3 campuses have the same interview process
so the interview based on the cat call will be final and there will be no separate call based on xat.
Am i correct??? can the seniors help here

1.What do i write in present organization when i not working write now but have previous experience?

2.What does Functional Area of Experience specifically mean e.g for a IT guy does it mean testing,software development,coding or support?

Hi puys,

In the Personal Details form, I have only 2 doubts:
1. Functional Area of Experience : Do we have to write Development/Testing/Support or the domain name like UNIX/Java ???

2.Educational Qualification Graduation part: Do we have to write average of all 8 semesters as aggregate or only final year's average because in Mumbai University,the final year average is considered as aggregate of BE.

Also while writing the summary of GD, do I have to write an essay on the topic or just what was discussed in the GD only that part. Do I need to say like a person said blah blah bah and his point was supported by all etc etc. Please could anyone give me any idea how to write a summary. I am confused

1.I think that you have been called for Gaziabad campus as the mail doesnt mention Nagpur/Hyderabad specifically, which was observed for few of fellow puys with less than 90 percentile. please refer the Personal Details form at the link mentioned and check if Gaziabad is an option in it,that would clear your doubt.

2. I think you can wear whatever your comfortable in, the panel is sensible enough not to expect a person,who has recently undergone surgery, to wear a formal shoe.

no! the admission notice states-

I have recieved a call from IMT on Feb 3rd,2012. The interview is tomorrow.
I am unsure about whether the call is for the Ghaziabad campus or any of the other campuses.
Here are my totals:
CAT Score.
OA- 96.27
Section 1 (QA and DI) - 75.6
Section 2( VA and LR) - 99.62

I have 2.5 years of work ex in IT.
10th - 82
12th -70

SIR, I must have downloaded that brochure at least a ten times in excitement but still am not able to find the exact "window" (will thre be a link appearing on imt portal? ) where to put my xat scores . "The window for XAT and GMAT score submissions will open from 15th February, 2012 on wards " ___ can somebody interpret this statement please!! CAT scores were taken automatically i guess...why can't the XAT scores be taken the same way! Anyway, candidate's ready to go any length and breadth to cover this...please help!! :cheers:

Yes its 15th Feb......The Window is ready...its just that the testing is going on.....We are planning to send an e-mail to all the candidates who have applied to IMT.....Also as soon as the admissions dept. starts sending mails,we would be communicating the same on this thread....So please do not think on the lines that you would miss out on the information....You will be given sufficient time(atleast a week to update your score)....So kindly bear with us.....And its a request to all the candidates who have read this post of mine to communicate the same to other candidates or atleast give them the reference of this post of mine....
P.S.:We have our exams in 2 days and its not possible for us to answer all the queries personally....

In my opinion...As of now 1st and Last Payslips and photocopy of offer letter would do...U wud be allowed to appear for ur gd/pi process....There is a possibility that they wud ask u to sign an undertaking that u agree to the fact that u have not provided the originals and are ready to provide originals or may be work-ex certificate at the time of the final convert being issued(if demanded by the college)......

For the Ghaziabad campus,
PGDM FT is same as PGDM General which is same as PGDM Marketing
rest of the options are self-explanatory

For the Nagpur and Hyderabad campuses,the choices provided are
PGDM,PGDM(MARKETING) and PGDM(FINANCE)....
U'll have to ask these queries on the respective threads of Nagpur and Hyderabad....

I kindly request you to provide a tentative date by which IMT will allow the applicants to enter their XAT scores.

I am one of those few applicants who have screwed CAT and scored well in XAT, so the hope is there in IMT with the XAT score only.

I am sorry if u were offended but the problem was there. Earlier there was lack of information.

I asked seniors on campus who were the official people over there and they were confused to say the least.

Everyone was spreading rumors that XAT is thr only for Nagpur/Hyderabad.

Therefore, I decided to ask the interview panel and they replied that they don't know anything about the procedure.

I know that FAQ was released but still all the fuss at the campus made me wonder if I was seriously appearing for Ghaziabad or Nagpur/Hyderabad. I didn't mean seniors at pagalguy but official seniors present over thr.

Last, I didn't mean to offend anyone. If I had something against the clg, I would not have appeared for the interview process.

My suggestions are:-

1) Preference form should be filled before calling people- Suppose I want to appear only if I am called for Ghaziabad. I should be able to opt out of Nagpur/Hyderabad.
2) No clarity on XAT cutoffs- Affects people like me who are not interested in Nagpur/Hyderabad. We have to appear hoping that we will clr XAT cutoffs.
3) We should be informed about the criteria beforehand like this much % for CAT/XAT, this much for GD/PI etc.
4) We were informed that if we dont appear for Nagpur/Hyderabad, we will be ineligible for Ghaziabad if we clr XAT cutoffs- Ye kya dadagiri hai?
5) Obviously, you'll say that appear for Nagpur and we'll see ur XAT score later. But, this means wasting a day commuting, and appearing for the interview when we r not even sure if we r eligible for Ghaziabad.
6) No mention about sectional cutoff in XAT. I have 99.62%ile(Will be called surely for Ghaziabad but no clarity regarding sectional cutoffs- My DM %ile is 58.
7) And rumors don't help. I know that u r not the ones spreading rumors but if u people show clarity, rumors can be eliminated.

IMT has failed to address these problems and therefore I believe that IMT "admission process" is not good. I have nothing against the clg or seniors.

The only thing that I want to point out is that the weightages mentioned in the mandatory disclosure are of the last year...They may or may not be the same this year.....

Firstly, You asked the seniors...No probs...I would say it as a wise thing to do at this stage when you guys are so much excited about all the things...But right info regarding admission process is not with all the seniors...We use the signature in our every post friend...to justify the authenticity of our statements based on the facts which are first conveyed to us by IMT Admissions to help you ppl asap. You should have verified with us buddy. We are always here to help you out...Hope you agree with us on this part...:)

Secondly, FAQ was released so things were clear.

Yes, it was released but I didn't check it earlier. I checked it only 2-3 days before the interview. It could have been mailed to us(I know I complain a lot).

I got a call for Nagpur/Hyderabad and neglected it till I was informed by one of my friends which was 2 days before the interview(Got no time to prepare)

Thirdly, We have considered both CAT and XAT scores dis year. You might be aware of that results of CAT were declared on 11th Jan and XAT on 31st Jan..Now if we would have started process later than there would have been more clashes for the people who have CAT based calls from various institutes...So to avoid that hectic schedule and clashes...IMT came up with giving CAT based calls earlier. I think it is a good decision.

In all due respects....I appreciate your suggestions and respect it...but sometimes we need to understand other parties too...IMT is trying its level best to give you and all candidates a fair chance...(Despite being low CAT score...still you have chance to convert IMT Ghaziabad)...Dont you feel it as a million dollar opportunity which is given to very few?

You are absolutely right dude. Even after getting an awesome %ile in XAT, I am left w/o any calls based on XAT. Sectionals ne whaaaattt lagaa dee hain.

Infact, I even wrote a letter to some othe clgs like MDI, MFC, MBE etc praising IMT for accepting XAT scores. I urged them to accept scores from next time(I know ki koi nahi padhne waalaa but still I tried)

I agree that I have got a nice opportunity.

Personal Interview 15
Academic Track Record 25

Regarding preference of institutes before giving call...Interview process is common to all...FAQ says it right?...So regardless of calls from any campus, you have to attend the process if you want IMT Ghaziabad. Remember, nowhere in the mail we have written that you will be forced to join any campus...Obviously yaar koi dadagiri nai hai...Its all up to you sir...:)

Buddy, XAT score cut off would depend on number of applicants and info regarding it is as of now not conveyed to us as XAT being first time in picture.

Friend we have already mentioned % allocation to CAT and GD/PI...Please refer mandatory disclosures...It says

Just a small question:

The preference form that we have to fill mentions MBA from IMT Dubai, but there is also a separate form available for IMT-D @ IMT Admission Online asking for CAT and TOEFL scores.

I am actually considering IMT-D as my second preference at the moment, do I have to start the other process for it or appearing for my interview (on the 17th) gives me a shot at admission there?

It has been communicated infinite times through Pagalguy,Facebook,FAqs on IMt's website that all students having a good XAT score,though having been issued the calls for NAg/Hyd campus based on their CAT score would be considered for Ghaziabad campus....

Hi Nidhish,

I am sorry if u were offended but the problem was there. Earlier there was lack of information.

I asked seniors on campus who were the official people over there and they were confused to say the least.

Everyone was spreading rumors that XAT is thr only for Nagpur/Hyderabad.

Therefore, I decided to ask the interview panel and they replied that they don't know anything about the procedure.

I know that FAQ was released but still all the fuss at the campus made me wonder if I was seriously appearing for Ghaziabad or Nagpur/Hyderabad. I didn't mean seniors at pagalguy but official seniors present over thr.

Last, I didn't mean to offend anyone. If I had something against the clg, I would not have appeared for the interview process.

My suggestions are:-

1) Preference form should be filled before calling people- Suppose I want to appear only if I am called for Ghaziabad. I should be able to opt out of Nagpur/Hyderabad.
2) No clarity on XAT cutoffs- Affects people like me who are not interested in Nagpur/Hyderabad. We have to appear hoping that we will clr XAT cutoffs.
3) We should be informed about the criteria beforehand like this much % for CAT/XAT, this much for GD/PI etc.
4) We were informed that if we dont appear for Nagpur/Hyderabad, we will be ineligible for Ghaziabad if we clr XAT cutoffs- Ye kya dadagiri hai?
5) Obviously, you'll say that appear for Nagpur and we'll see ur XAT score later. But, this means wasting a day commuting, and appearing for the interview when we r not even sure if we r eligible for Ghaziabad.
6) No mention about sectional cutoff in XAT. I have 99.62%ile(Will be called surely for Ghaziabad but no clarity regarding sectional cutoffs- My DM %ile is 58.
7) And rumors don't help. I know that u r not the ones spreading rumors but if u people show clarity, rumors can be eliminated.

IMT has failed to address these problems and therefore I believe that IMT "admission process" is not good. I have nothing against the clg or seniors.

Firstly, Sorry for posting on behalf of Nidhish...

As XAT scores being accepted for the first time, hence it would be difficult to tell as to what would be good XAT cut off score for IMT Ghaziabad...

When compared to CAT cut off...In my opinion I would say dat good XAT score for converting IMT G would be above CAT cut-off...Hope it answers your query.

It's mentioned there that full name needs to be written but if i'd to write the full form of CISCE and GBTU, I dont think the space would be sufficient...please suggest something...

I think this should be understood buddy...anyways try adjusting the full name in small space provided...or keep it simple and silly...CISCE and GBTU...Your matter of choice...I think der should be no issues with any one of them...:)

Ranks in College or Board/University during 10th,12th or Engineering only...
If its state/national level den mention the extra curricular activities accordingly...If you have nothing to mention except that den in my personal opinion I would suggest you to mention it somewhere in form...But if certificate of participation is below 9th and 10th Std den it hardly matters...so don't write in dat case...!!

I agree with ur point but the thing is that we have been issued calls based on CAT and it is clearly mentioned in the mail that you have to appear for Nagpur/Hyderabad.

Now, I don't want to waste 1 full day travelling to Ghaziabad, appearing for the GD/PI, and not being eligible for Ghaziabad. It hurts. The point is that our letter should mention common interview for 3 campuses.

There is no clarity from the management and even the seniors are confused. Therefore, people like me believe that IMT has given weird criteria.

You can go on to join IMT(Its still better than various other management institutes). He was just showing his frustration against the process adopted by the clg and we are not here to defame any clg.
