1750 INR for "IMT-G (offering 7 specializations) + IMT-H + IMT-N" is no big amount.....There are colleges that take separate application fee for each and every single specialization they offer....What would u call that....Lemme guess, i got it "FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLTUUUUUUUUGIRIIIIIIIIII"

I am surprised to see some posts where people are saying that they gave a decent GD and PI. But what I am not able to understand is how do they know that they gave a good GD? They see factors which one cannot analyze. Just speaking many a time in a GD doesnt imply that your GD has gone well.
In my case, I spoke only once in the Group discussion and my interview was a technical interview (the panelist was from ECE background) which I flunked but I was completely honest in my answers. I never thought I would be getting a convert but got IMT-G (Finance).

Then I realized that, the interviewers see a hell lot of things which one cannot possible assume.:)

I too Feel that getting a high percentile in entrance exam is no gurantee to get into the BSCHOOL. Had it been such a case, then there was no need for GD/PI. Also getting a high percentile in entrance exam doesnt necessaryily mean you should not have a bad day during gd/pi. Common puys, pls accept the rejection with grace. We all know there are various criteria with different marks alloted to each category during GD/PI's. At last the merit list is prepared based on cummlative scores(including written). Thus those who got IMTG/IMT N /IMT H are those in accordance to their final standing in the merit list.

PS: My personal opinion

I am seeing a lot of people are targetting imt management.But I really cant find any reason to cry foul.I myself had a good gd/pi but missed out on an Imt final call(got dcp ,but didnt pay the fees).This year or may be in the next year you people may be in top mba colleges of the country so we expect a bit of maturity from u guys.Dont play the blame game just concentrate on your prepns this will help you more than blaming the college authorities.Imt ghaziabad is one of the premier institutes of our country and we should not make bad comments on the college admission process.Its just an advice i hope everybody refrains from the blame game from now on.

I just wish that I knew exactly where I went wrong..with 95.86%ile and the best possible PI which was appreciated even by the panelists, I was really shocked on being waitlisted by IMT at first, and was totally disheartened today on being selected for the hyderabad campus, which figuratively closes my door to IMT G..Got rejected by SCMHRD too but I knew I wouldnt clear it on the day of the interview itself.. but for IMT i was just so sure.. I wish I knew where I went wrong in judging my GDPI so that I dont keep such false hopes again

imt g- admission process is a good example of how brand mba colleges are failing at management of admission..... they should learn from and imt g final year student ..plz take this topic as your final semester project

imt g- is losing its brand name and glory with so poor planning of the admission process.... the major one
1. Sudden call for GD/PI for outstation candidates....
2. No email and phone replies for queries addressed to Dr.Sherry HOD Admission... this person never replies... how he had been given such vital posts is an example of poor management by a MBA college...
3. help desk--- people sitting don't know anything!!!!!
4. No clear announcement related to declaration of GD/PI results and the worst most of person in waitlisting are not given any waitlisted no. and to make matter more worst no further declaration of waitlist candidtes further converts dates....
5. The whole admission process shows a poor management at each level.....I think IMT final year students should take this as a major project in their final semester!!!!" Collapse of Admission Process"

IMTs is a messed up policy....they called people wid 90 or 91 even 92 percentile to just make mockery of them...........I had clearly filled IMT G as my one and only option....I wud have been more then happy to hear a clear Y or N fr da same instead f getting offered wid a course at IMT N...I mean nobody asked fr any unwanted favours if they didn't find a place for me in IMT G.......clearly they had no intention to select sum1 frm 90 to 92(there may have 1 or 2 exceptions n I will love to see if sum1 has realled made it through wid a low percetile) and all they were looking for was candidates for IMT N and IMT H......great PI , great GD , work ex of 3+ in an MNC , 90.14 percetile ......no regrets just felt a lil disappointed at der prejudice n by da feeling dat I was never in da competetion......

hey..NOT making any comments or drilling my opinions through, but I have a 92.26%ile in CAT-2011.
gave a decent gd-pi. got through IMT-G. for the PGDM-HR program. So I'm one of those people with the lowest %iles to get into IMT-G.

if this helps, I'm a b.pharm graduate, passed out in 2011. fresher. :)

Thats true buddy but alloting them IMT Hyderabad even when they have not given any preference for it shows how desperate even the IMT fellows are for filling up their backward new campuses.

Everybody cursing IMT rite now should remember just one thing - It is the institute's prerogative to select students it wants to study in its halls. Not getting selected does not mean you are bad - it just means that you don't fit into the institute's plans for that year. Maybe some other institute will be better suited for you.

Accept defeat graciously and you will come out stronger for it.

And regarding money wasted, IMT is one of the very few colleges in India that allows you to apply to all the courses and campuses in a single form with no extra fee. Also, it asks you to pay only 50000 to book a seat and not in access of 3 lakhs like some other institutes.

PS: Seeing some of the reactions of rejected candidates, I think IMT has been a pretty good judge.

look, campus change generally does not take place.. but, still i would recommend you to call up the admission office in case they have decided to make an amendment. And yes if you reject this , some other candidate will get the offer. So my advice, just tread on carefully .. al the best :)

Cmon dude grow up, getting a great %ile and having nice acads isn't a guarantee of making it to a top bschool. It is more than that.,


Infact, I now respect IMT-G for not taking CAT %ile as the decider and giving a chance to people with low %ile..

I have seen that CAT results are much more luck based but GD/PI results have been much better. One of my friends converted at 92%%ile and he was awesome all throughout the mocks. This means IMT has been a better judge than CAT.

just one thought guys..
every institute needs sometime to establish itself... there are two things that i have noticed and is making me say this - one, having a back up of IMT as a tag. Two, clearly, i can see an effort made by the admissions team to improve the batch profile of IMT H by calling majority 90 above percentilers.

So this effort can bring fruitful results during this 2012-14 session as i believe admission team of such a repute cannot be making decisions just randomly. So, we should not overlook this effort to bring IMT H into limelight.
But this is just my opinion. all the best everyone :)

I dunno. I had applied to IMT G as a "safe" option. With a 99.79 pcile in CAT and 80% above in acads, I thought IMT G was a done deal. Now the IMT Hyderabad convert after getting waitlisted is just a huge kick in the derriere. I am scared for my other awaited results.

As far as I remember, the selection process (GDPI) for people with 90%ile + was only for Ghaziabad campus. It was made clear on my interview day itself.
And earlier we were asked to fill up the preference list for the campuses and courses and since there were no clear instructions on how to fill up the table, I filled only preferences for Ghaziabad.
Then how on earth are they congratulating me with the admission offer for IMT-Hyd at 92%ile?
I had not even applied for the Campus.

I am sorry but a Management Institute having such a mis-managed Admission process 2 years on the trot doesn't paint a good picture.


I know which college not to apply to this year now. How long can a brand name survive lets see.

I cant find any details towards the same in the website or anywhere else.
Can you shed more light on the last day for fee payment and the day classes start?

just one thought guys..
every institute needs sometime to establish itself... there are two things that i have noticed and is making me say this - one, having a back up of IMT as a tag. Two, clearly, i can see an effort made by the admissions team to improve the batch profile of IMT H by calling majority 90 above percentilers.

So this effort can bring fruitful results during this 2012-14 session as i believe admission team of such a repute cannot be making decisions just randomly. So, we should not overlook this effort to bring IMT H into limelight.
But this is just my opinion. all the best everyone

The best of mba institutes in India all give Diplomas and not degrees. This includes all the IIMs, XLRI, IMT, MDI, etc. Please get your facts right.

Yeah the batch size should be double, but the number of companies visiting companies are triple if not more. The current rankings for the b-schools show the way ofcourse.

FINALLY..DD status says

Your draft against admission offer has been received at admission office of IMT Ghaziabad.

i recieved a mail stating that selected for IMT hyd finance.Is it worth joining imt h with per 92 and academics above 80 percentage.
I am waiting for IMI and BIM results.
please help me out.......

I had been waiting for the waitlists to move quite anxiously as I couldn't believe that with a 99.79 pcile in CAT and 80+ percentage in acads , i dint get a convert in the first go. And now the IMT H call is just a kick in the derriere. I didnt have catastrophic GD/PI experience either. I hope this ain't any indication of what's to come when other colleges come out with their final list.

for all those who had groaned, i wud just like to say i have some medical prob, not joining

IMTs is a messed up policy....they called people wid 90 or 91 even 92 percentile to just make mockery of them...........I had clearly filled IMT G as my one and only option....I wud have been more then happy to hear a clear Y or N fr da same instead f getting offered wid a course at IMT N...I mean nobody asked fr any unwanted favours if they didn't find a place for me in IMT G.......clearly they had no intention to select sum1 frm 90 to 92(there may have 1 or 2 exceptions n I will love to see if sum1 has realled made it through wid a low percetile) and all they were looking for was candidates for IMT N and IMT H......great PI , great GD , work ex of 3+ in an MNC , 90.14 percetile ......no regrets just felt a lil disappointed at der prejudice n by da feeling dat I was never in da competetion......
