Till now as per the admissions dept...it has been communicated that people who have converted DCP wont be upgraded to any other domain......Many people were confused about the programme and have faced problems...We are trying to sort this out...but really cant help if the admissions dept decides on something..

this is very unfair , we thought dcp was a part of IMT G now it's being treated like it's a different campus program, i might as well have joined imt nagpur marketing! now i cant even do that it seems because you cannot change your preferences

Its Kunal Chatterjee from Indore.
Sir I got a mail from IMT last evening stating my selection in PGDM(Full Time),also mentioning to submit a DD of Rs1000 by 02.04.2012.

Sir I didnt get the prospectus at the time of filling the form for IMT selection process,as a result of which I do not know the Fee Structure for the course.I am also unaware about the date of commencing of the classes.

Kindly help me out in this respect.Also kindly advice whether i can get the prospectus somehow as the authority out there (Shri Agarwal) wasnt in a position to help me out.

i am getting a anti-DCP feeling after reading the thread....and i cannot follow the logic behind why DCP call getters could not get upgraded(( if there is any such poilcy))...it could b easily generalized that no one filled DCP as a first preference....only 5-10 % of the shortlisted are showing any interest in joining that programme...

now does this mean that those who got DCP calls-- cumulative score was so less that it was impossible for them to get imt ghaziabad campus...so they are offered DCP instead of keeping them in the wait list...??

But I think its not worth joining at 12 lakhs
Placement of 600 candidates will not be easy.

Was hoping for IMT G @ 96.27, but got the mail for DCP....:splat:.....GD PI was good...dont know why it hapnd...bt anyways...even if it was converted, I wouldn't have joined IMT G.......

I am selected for DCP.My query is that what is the total fees of 2 years including fooding,lodging,living expenses and flights-travel.I asked IMT-G admission helpdesk and ma'm receiving the phone told that it is 2o lacs fr 2 years.Please give some light.
And i want to do the specialization Finance(major) + marketing(minor).will i get it.

General PGDM-DCP Enquiry Answers:

1) Program Specifications are all the same - The only and avery big added advantage is that its a general degree program - That is unlike PGDM-xx you can have 2 specialisations, like I had Marketing and Economic Strategy.

2) The Average placements are average. The college will tell you the average figures officially for all programs. It is a part of the IPRS process. The figure should be over and above 9 for freshers. People with work-ex get a be higher and should be 10-11+ easily.

3) Some Names who recruited from DCP - Samsung, Aircel, Nomura, HCL, HDFC, Tata, Max New York Life, Emami, GE, Deloitte, Ashok Leyland, Axis, Barclays, Bajaj, IDBI.

4) Profiles given: Risk Analysts, Business Analysts Brand Management, Investment Banking, Sales, Operations Strategy, Consulting, Strategic Management (HCL), Human Resource Managers.


The Bad: You miss out on first year at IMT-G, so the first year bonding is less. you miss out on national level competitions in India but then a lot of you will be too busy in the first year. You don't get to know the professors at imt-g in the first year itself.

The Good: You get easier access to Dubai Based companies. Also PPO conversions seem to be a lot easier in Dubai than in India because of the supply-demand gap. We almost had a 100% ppo conversion in Dubai baring one guy. The campus at imt-d is top notch and campus is amidst a lot of buss. The dubai government takes a lot of initiative to make sure that the level of interaction amongst all the international students in the area remains really high. You get to be taught by some very good faculty who have international standing and the news is that for your batch more profs are being taken in from Dubai area itself which is very big boon.

The Ultimate Truth - You in the GD + You in the Interview. The hirer doesnt care for the course, he cares for the guy - He absolutely cares for his background and how good he has been, how good he is right now and how good he can be.

Send all "very specific" queries regarding DCP to me on my pg id. Remember I said very specific.

I tried calling but no one picked.

This post will bring a relief to many here... had just called the admission help desk...they gave me the number of the concerned person...he told me those who have got DCP,just like any other Ghaziabad campus course, will still be considered for all other courses of higher preference...Phewww...Seniors please confirm...

But there have been some very good offers for PGDM(FT) + Operations Mgmt (minors)

Avarage package somewhere around 8.5 lacs

Also, IMT-G may increase the fees to 14 lacs for 2012-14

Yes , but institutes can also find loopholes in the policy. Like Symbi colleges charge 30000 in the name of "pre-induction material". One can easily search it on PG threads. So you never can be sure of what IMT plans to do unless offcourse they have explicitly mentioned their refund policy somewhere

They are sending indiviual mails instead of publishing a list because a lot of people will not join IMT and wait list will get cleared a lot of times.They dont want to ruin the image of college.

Rs1000/- will be deducted if you decide to leave the course before its commencement.
