DI: 18/14/4 -- 12 Accuracy80%

VA/RC: 52/36/16, 27.167 Accuracy 70%

Total 95/69/26 57.167 Accuracy70%

What do i do about my Accuracy ? I'm mad at myself for the no. of mistakes i do. huh.
Anyways, I found DI a little difficult. could manage only 12. Ppl who have managed a good score in DI, pls help.

Just gave MCT II. It wasn't so bad; section I had DI which was quite calc-intensive with LR-based questions more or less non-existant. Section II was splotchy; with RC and the 2-markers easy while analogies and meaning-based questions on the tougher side.

here's my break-up:
Sec I - 32
Section II - 42
Net - 74

I'll be giving MCT III tomorrow with the class-test of MCT V on thursday. I'm still struggling a bit with QA while DI and LR getting better with every test. VA is looking good as well.

am new to ims world...so wanna know feel of relative easiness and all abt FCT scores

i took one of FCT and solved..felt relatively easy compared to TIME mocks....
after many silly mistakes managed to get score of abt 49

i mean cud have managged to get 60 with v little extra care...


anyways can anyone know ..is it ok types score..or score above 70 or so supposed to be good in FCT's...

I do agree with you. The scores are definitely jacked up. I would pay to see some of the IMS faculty score as much.

Did MCT-2 last night.

Had the same problem with verbal.
Here are my scores.

QA + DI = 36/31/5.......18.17....86% accuracy
VA/RC = 47/32/15......27.66......68% accuracy :x

Note that while my accuracy is more than yours in both sections, the scores are much lower. So what you lose in accuracy, you tend to gain in speed.
And the CAT isin't really meant to measure your accuracy, is it?

Of course, with that speed, and some more accuracy, you could have a very good score.

I, on the other hand, don't seem to have the speed after so much time.

Anybody have any suggestions which would actually work? QA in particular is a thorn in the flesh for me right now.

The ACTs are of mixed difficulty. I mean they are only a just simpler than the Sims. But yes, they are pretty good practice. My cousin who got through says any practice is good practice. So....

Man the MCT scores are out of this world. I mean it seems to be an average of around 55+. Could not give it thanks to project vivas etc..Lets see what happens.

Anyway, I think if we guys keep posting on this thread regularly, we might get a hang of our relative performance in these tests.
Probably IMS should start paying Pagalguy some monthly fee for helping us guys out.

Well... I think its pretty difficult for any institute to generate a relative standing unless and until it receives the population scoring pattern. Now as IMS comes up with new set of ACTs, MCTs and FCTs every year based on the changes in CAT pattern and testing the students in every way possible (as in the 2, 3, 5 section schemes), its not possible to predict the relative standing as in the percentiles.

Although it does let out Ideal scores for each test n sub-sections also. These scores can be considered @ 98-99 %ile levels. So... aim for them!

The trouble with IMS is that they don't have any percentile calculator for the ACTs, MCTs etc. So how the hell do we know how well we are performing? It's not that all the tests are the same level, so there is no base for truly comparing the performances.

I made a few suggestions to the IMS team but doesn't look lioke they are interested in making any changes to the system in place. Why should they? after all, the money keeps pouring in for them.

I sometimes feel that I should have simply xeroxed the material from some friends instead of enrolling for the correspondence course.

Anyway, I think if we guys keep posting on this thread regularly, we might get a hang of our relative performance in these tests.

The best option would be to add a poll
(ex: x>50, 40<50 ... been too much into inequalities ) , but it doesnt make sense to add polls for these tests. Could be done for SIMCATS but what the hell, thats precisely what we have hired IMS for.

MCT-3 turned out to be a total disaster. Must have been due to the fact that I just returned from office and sat down for the test. However, there can be no excuses for such a dismal performance. Must pull up my socks for the next one.

Any suggestion on how to improve upon my speed in PS? MCT-1 will give you a good idea about my consistent performance in PS.

Would really welcome some valuable suggestions here.

Thought MCT 3 was not as tough as my score suggests(or is it) but still screwed things up. My accuracy in VA sucked. There was a bit of time mismgmt in DI. Got stuck in the LR qns n wasted a lot of time, screwin my DI score in the end. Should hv attempted the lr 2-markers.
generally i'm pretty gud at LR ..don't know wat happened in the test.
Guyz plz comment on The LR part. Was it messy or i really screwed it up.

off late i'm havin problems in structurin my attempts in DI/LR/DS. I mean ..i'm pretty gud at lr n DI n DS are ok types. But the thing with lr is that its a very high risk game. B'coz if it doesn't come off..then your score will take a real beating. But in some mocks wen i skip the lr part ..then durin analysis i realize that they were worth attemptin. Still in some othr cases (like MCT3)were i concentrated on DI, it backfired.
I'm really not able to make a call. Can some of the BIG Guns come to my rescue.

Q 27...in that we had to find health bill on account of old ppl in north india.we r given all the relevant data but for all the four parts together i.e north south east west.How can we use those data to calculate the result for one area...it is possible that per capita for area A is more than that for area B. we just cant use the mean of the two to calculate the result for a specific area..... same problem in Q 30. kindly reply to my doubts. sanket

Mumbai finally started with their MCTs thingy...

gave MCT 1 today... found it much simpler.. especally DI.. actualy evrything else was comparable to ACT5.. only DI was much simpler..newez here are the scores...

DI : 30 Att, 2 Wrong, 28 Right, 36.66 ; (my prev best score in DI was half of this.. got 18 in ACT5)

PS: 22 Att, 3 Wrong, 18 Right, 22.33 ( I felt cudve done much much better in quant.. attempts very less.. and got stuck on 3-4 questions)

VA: 35 attempts, 6 wrong , 29 right, 26.83 ( My VA score on an avg hovers around 25-29.. so pretty ok i guess.. verbal wasnt tooooo simple or nething)

Total: 87 Att, 11 Wrong, 76 Right, 85.83

though i might have bettered all my prev performances, i think the bigger dudes in mumbai will come up with more astounding scores.. lets c. mumbai ppl post in ur scores,,
