he as far as indore v l is concerned i dont suppose indore is better but yes batch size of 270 does water down placements of luckhnow. Indore is an upcoming institute and is doing very well one more thing as far as placements " indore has higher laterals bcoz of large no of work ex that also affect final figures.

friends as far as memeber ship to yahoo groups of iiml is concerned it is around 150 as on today. I got a mail from iiml student council yestarday about the group. you can verify the fact by visiting iiml_2005-07 group on yahoo. so keep u fingers crossed.

Some strange news here... hesitated to post till now fearing losing credibility n being christened 'bad news ka bundle'

I talked to IIML admission dept on 28th, and this is the conversation we had (to keep it as genuine as it actually was, I m posting in Hinglish, cos thts wot they choose to speak in)

Me: Good morning Sir. I m a waitlisted candidate. Has the no. of final calls in the two lists declared so far, been declared?
He: No.
Me: Can I get to know it somehow?
He: Nahi, ye koi public information nahi hua karti.
Me: Sir, but waitlist ke kahaan tak clear hone ke chances hain iska kuchh idea mil jaata... so, can u give a rough idea ki waitlist kahaan tak clear hone ki aasha hai?
He: Waitlist? Koi official waitlist nahi declare ki hai humne...
Me: (obviously stumped, yet regaining senses to dig up something) But sir, aapki site ke main page pe waitlist ki link hai, us mein roll no. daalne pe "Congrats" ka msg aata hai, and it says tht we shud check after 16th May, and asks to furnish a draft of 15K by 6th June, to show our interest.
He: Abhi tak officially koi waitlist nahi nikaali gayi hai... zaroorat padi to baad mein nikaal sakte hain
Me: To fir sir, jo WL number aata hai, wo kis base pe generate hua hai?
He: Iski koi info mujhe nahi hai...
Me: Sir, can u plz transfer this call to a person jiske paas info ho?
He: Aap site par check karte rahen (hangs up)

yup, as said in the above post by bumba, there was no waiting list last yr....just one long final list.......

I do have my doubts though on how many ppl in the WL will clear as they must have definitely called more ppl than the remaining seats, that too after probably confirming with the rest of the IIMs. From now on it probably wuld be the whims and decisions of the ppl with calls only frm L ,who want to wait another year or take something else up besides the iims, though the enormity of the waiting list suggests otherwise.
These apprehensions will hopefully be put to rest with time for all of us.

I sure hope thatts not the case this year. Also the fact that the WL is huge suggests lower no of confirmed candidates. Heard that the IIML 2005-2007 Y! group has only 35 members as on date. Thats quite a suggestive fact though many might not be aware of the Y! group's existence but still...
