I have a query related to laptops..
When are the bulk deals for laptops supposed to finalize..??
and around how much can we expect to save on the market prices. Also can we get a customized deal for oneself?

I have a friend coming from US so will it be better to get one from there rather than from bulk deal?

Really can't stop myself from coming to Hel(L)

dont know abt the price that u are getting on offer here.... but if u can get a DELL original from US.... i believe there's nothing better than that... i myself have one... my bro brought for me....

A Laptop is preferred by most Junta .. coz of the mobility advantage ... and believe me .. Mobility is a HUGE advantage ...

2.Are we allowed bikes inside the campus?? :D

U have a 2 day induction with Alumni too being a part of it. Fairly good one - comparable with a corporate induction program.

.... plz tell about life @ IIML... class durations... social life etc... etc... heard from few places that its always run run and run.... .... is it so..????

Will set the ball rollin on this one ... though u can expect a lot more from other seniors too. Classes for PGP1 happen only in the morning time ... will end arnd 2 PM. Typical class duration is 1 hr .. a couple of them 1.5 Hrs

Social Life .. its grt ... have a 200 acre campus ... with a 2 km long ring road... football ground .. baski .. tennis .. badminton ..TT .. Pool ... inter hostel sports competitions ...
fortnightly insti parties ...
city is slightly far ... so getting ur bike/car to the campus wud be useful .. quite a few keep their bikes on campus .. and a few have their cars too ..

How tough is life at L? How difficult it is to 'sail thru'?
I have heard that it is really tough and many students are kickked out at the end of the term...
Is that true???

Life @ L is a little tough compared to the chillier IIMs like C/B ....
Quite a few do get kicked out during the year ...
But then its not so tough to stay put.
sufficient Fundae from seniors on where to put fight and where not to ... with a due amount of diligence from ur side .. shud see u swim across ...
we are Indians after all .. can work arnd all probs :satisfie:

How much is the work load at IIM L.

As far as Indian placements are concerned, there is absolutely no difference. Some of the big names like P&G; recruit for their 'Marketing' profile only from 4 colleges in the country -ABCL.Even Barings Private Equity recruits only from ABCL...

But IIML has lesser number of international placements compared to ABC. But over the past year, even that gap has reduced. We had international I-Banks & Consults on campus this time. But one thing I can definitely assure in L is the peer group.
