If you belong to the general category,chances are slim.
Women 'quota' as such does not exist but yes, the ratio of female to male for the current batch is 2.6:1 .

The placement season here is not yet over. They are going on and going on fine.
would be inappropriate on my part to give you some figures right now .

The previous years figures have been posted earlier. Kindly go through them.
Focus on converting all the calls you have in hand. Only then will the Placement figures even come into the picture.
And, I can assure you that you will have the latest details with you before you get to make THAT crucial decision.

The article you read was from the recession time - june 2008.
Though that was the general trend , you would have observed that the placement then was still 95%. i.e only 2 aspirants remained unplaced.

Well, i cant tell you exactly what the cut off would be but, as it is, the cut off is determined only by the percentiles of the applicants.
If the general overall applicant pool's percentile is below 80, then it may go low.

Calls for GD/PI are solely on the basis of CAT.
Work-ex would have a bearing only after you get the call.

You dont need to do anything..sit back and relax.
The school will do the processing and get back to you if you are selected.
Preparing well for the GD n PI is all you gotta do now.

Dear, let the aspirants reveal er percentiles.I have insisted on this earlier.
It will help aspirants in the future to get a clear picture of the cut off of the school.

Anything above 80 would ,as per previous trends, get you a call.
It then depends on your performance in GD and PI.
And, the defence quota has not been opened THIS year as you have mentioned. It has been there for quite sometime.

well, I would say better than many of the b-skuls which charge you 5 or 6 lacks [or more]for an MBA certificate.
You get a wonderful ROI and remember this being a central Govt. university all the faculty members are Ph.d's . [ You dont find this everywhere]
Also, we have lots of international speakers on campus. so over all, its quite profitable

honestly speaking not that great ..... the main emphasis is on the science post grad and doctorate courses ...........not a very great to do an MBA from except or otherwise if some one has run out of options ...........better to keep it as a back option is nothing else clicks.....:thumbsup:

Well, people. If you go back and search you will find that for the general category the cut off was around 80 percentile. So, if you have anything above that, no point asking whether you have a chance to get a call or not.
The general practice here is GD followed by PI. This year CAT has been different. so I really cant tell if you will have something extra for the purpose of assesment.

No sectional cut offs as of now.The over all percentile, GD/PI marks coupled with consistent academic performance are what matter.

Going by the previous trends its possible if you are in the reserved category.
But , since the cut off of any college is determined only by percentlies of the applicant pool of that year, you never know.

ive submitted my application by hand....twice(last year also).....i met ppl wat iknow is completely based on wat ppl said.......college dont care for ur internship in da sence u ur self have to approach the company for internship.....and boss college brand does work to fetch u opportunity , after that its only ur prfomance.......

From what i know, applications are 'taken from' and 'submitted to' the admin block. Still not sure that u have visited SMS.
nyways, the fact remains that the school does help u find summer internships.
Its possible that last yr few of em did not get internships where they wanted -call it recession but that does not, in any way ,justify your generalization.
An update :NABARD has given us 6 vaccencies to apply to, for summers.
Virgin mobile has approached for providing internships.

The student placement co-ordinators visit companies in which students show interest to solicit a campus visit.And, we have got a very good relations with industry. So this is not an issue at all.
well, i will end it here.

an advice: Come only if u belive that the collge is good.Make an informed decision.It will take u a long way.

2)Kind of companies that recruit for summers(operational mgmt,Finance mgmt)

3)companies in which Operation mgmt students are placed,and MIN AVG MAX pakage....... Roles offered.....

1) Its wonderfull.plz go through the previous post to know more.

2)Lots of companies comming in for operations and finance.Most of the big banks recruit from here.ING Vysya, SBI, SBH ,ANDHRA ,HDFC etc to name a few. check out the prospectus and placement brochure to know the complete list.


3)Not aware about exclusive details of operations management but will give u the overall picture-
BATCH 2006-08 - AVERAGE was 4.5 L
BATCH 2007-09 - AVERAGE was 3.2L
Batch 2008-10 -placements are on. regular recruiters back on campus...things are as rosy as at other good schools.

Marketing Management
Finance Management
Human Resources Management
Operations Management
Information Technology in Management
Entrepreneurship

And, to add value to operations, the faculty for that specialization received training at IIM-A.

Thank you for ur input reddy, but lemme tell u a few facts.The internships depends on the students and the companies that offer em and not on the school alone.
Shipping corp of india has offered 5 summer internships with a stripend of 5000 rs.
Many more, i m sure, will follow.
lemme tell u this very frankly, students n aspirants who depend on the name of the school alone to take them ashore loose it big time.
A school can only act as a facilitator.
