2 days back i recieved a letter 4m FORE saying u have been waitlisted for IB programme.chk after 22nd on the site for further confirmation regarding admission.

Has any one else who has been waitlisted recieved such a letter.???

in college,wi-fi connection is thr for every1.so dont worry about internet facility while u r in college.
comin 2 hostel, our experiece wasnt dat gr8 either when it came 2 internet facility.
there r 4-5 computers near d eating joint. so the answer is yes,u have 2 pay extra 2 get net connection in ur rooms. we paid Rs 375 per month.
there are students of schools,preparing 4 engineerin & all. so no this hostel is nt FORE focussed hostel. but 85-90% of janta is frm FORE only. in my batch i guess thr wr around 50-60 students of FORE.

Look m not staying at hostel m delhiite, so my words wud be strictly based on d info i hv abt the hostel,talking to my hosteler frens...
1 Ya d food in the hostel is not good...n its a lil on d expensive side..
2 But importantly u get a lot of peace of mind and freedom from thinking abt daily problms like accomodation,electricity charges,laundry,etc....which u hv to in a PG.
3 In a MBA program u need lot of peace of mind so that u can dedicate n channelise ur energies in the right direction.
So my advice to u wud be...take up hostel in 1st yr...dn wn u have good bunch of frns u cn think of staying at a PG in 2nd yr.
Rest decide for urself....

hey juniors.congrats 2 all who made it thru & joinin FORE.guys about the hostel,food is bad.very bad. but it is tolerable.absolutely veggie.tuesday ko poori sabzi. sunday paneer.
24 hrs electricity & water supply.do not worry on dat front.
2 students share 1 room with attached bathroom.
location is one of the best in katwaria.remember,in katwaria.
it is abt 1 km awa frm college.10-15 mins walkin distance.
environment was awesome during my 1st yr.
as far as my suggestion goes,take the hostel 4 d 1st yr.2nd yr mein decide 4 urself.

Hey man I have different experience regarding BANK LOANS. My native place is SIWAN in BIHAR. I called up FORE admissio office. They told me that they are trying a tie up with Allahabad bank but you can get loan only from your NATIVE place and 1st installment you have to pay by yourself.
Now I have a big problem in Siwan(my native place) there is no branch of private banks like hdfc,icici etc. nationalised banks takes more than 1 month to finalise loan there(if they will give). In terms of burocracy and corruption Bihar is the worst place I have ever seen in my life...Worst is that I cant get loan in delhi because I dont have permanent address in delhi.
Now I am in a fix...dont know what to do???
Can anybody suggest something what should I do??

As far as loan facilities are concerned there were 2-3 banks last yr which had setup there kiosks at our campus last yr giving the loan facilities. As far as loans r concerned, i guess it shud not b big problem coz evn i availed it last yr and got it very easily. My suggestion wud b to carefully research abt d INTEREST RATES of all the banks bfore taking the final call.
As far as hostel is concerned i dont know the details coz i dnt stay in one...but i guess d best thing to do is to give a call at college and ask for the details.
If still u find any troubles getting the details then i would surely ask smone and let u know.

There seems to be lot of questions on placements, which i can expect and feel are justified.
But i would like to make few things clear that since the economic conditions r pretty bad there have been an obvious impact on the placemnts....not just of FORE but of every b school including the likes of IIMs,MDIs,etc. So a general comparisions r not worth.
As far as placements @ FORE r concerned i cant tell the exact figures coz r placemnt cell hsnt divulged the details but i can tell u few things though....
- We had a rolling placments this year n there was absolutely no discrimination from any company to take IB students.
- Infact both IB n PGDM share a common placement platform.
- There were lot of people taking 7-9 lacs/annum packages from both IB n PGDM.
- Companies like Bank Of America, Deloitte, Citi group, D Shaw, etc have given some excellent profiles with good packages this year.
Important thing is when the new coming batch would pass out there would hopefully be no problems of slowdown so thing wud b again back to boyancy... So any apprehensions regarding the placemnts and the acceptance of IB should not be kept in mind.

Well, since comparisions of b-schools are not allowed on this thread, even i would refrain from dat.
But i can tell u one thing that i had work ex of more than 2 yrs and i had final converted calls from LBSIM (PGDM), ICFAI Hyd,Welingkar n few others last yr. I chose FORE IB over them n i dont regret it... I hope m able to give u some perspective.

Well as far as summer placement is concerned whole of IB batch have got dere summer placemnts done by now. Since d economic condition is not very good soo lot of companies have obviously cut down on the stipends offered but dat is d case again with all d b-schools. Importantly students have got some good profiles in reputed organisations across different sectors.
As far as mine....i got good profile of Market Research & consumer behaviour in Bausch& Lomb way back in november.
I hope i put d perspective straight....?

- N even i had calls frm ICFAI Hyd, LBSIM (PGDM), Welingkar, etc last year but i chose FORE (IB) over them...n m happy to have made dat choice.

Yesterday i had a talk with 2 guys who are in final yr of IB at FORE. they told me that both of these courses are almost similar. very few subjects differ and that oo in 2nd year. Also very few companies differentiate between these 2 streams. yes the placements this yr at FORE is not so good but his is the case with every other bschool.
another thing which I would like to tell u is if u don't have concrete info abt anything at least don't misguide others. it is a decision of lifetime.

Look if u will scroll past sone posts of this thread you will find out it just depends on wht kind of college u aspire to b in...
Icfai hyderabad has better infrastructure as well as it is the best college among all icfai colleges...
As far as fore is concerned, it is located in Delhi and has a good brandname..which goes for icfai hyderabad also...
But another matter u have 2 look at is the course...

Nevaz does ne1 have an idea abt the hostel.. howz it.. ..the only prb i m finding is that we have to deposit the full amt at once..

Guys, just a note of caution - If you have doubts about joining FORE or any other institute , you can ask questions or express your apprehensions but do make sure you only trust the answers from current students of the institute concerned. Because in a few threads, I have seen a wait listed candidate trying to drive away( misguide ) the students who have confirmed admission offer in order to clear his way out of waiting list. :)

The two institutes in question are in a different league all together and it does not warrant any debate.

You can refer to the commonly available rankings of b-schools (given by coaching institutes). Hope this helps.

Please REFRAIN from comparing institutes in this forum as PG rules do not allow the same. If you want you can PM any PG members who are actively posting( or guiding ) in various threads for any comparisons.

Though I am not senior but I think FORE would be better option because at least you will get a valid degree approved by AICTE... On the basis of fore pgdm degree you can study aroad while I doubt whether ICFAI degree is valid or not because it is not recognised....

Ull get ur letter in a day or two..Anyways the first installment is of 1.75 Lacs...Also some additional deposits(mainly security) of 14,500 Rs r there..If u interested in availing hostel facilities then u have to pay 60,000 Rs per annum and an additional 5,000Rs as security deposit...

Dude tht decision is totally upto u...I gt selected for PGDM nd m leavin my job at TCS as wel...If u r worried abt placement scenario then every other B-Skl is in the same pit...Moreover ull b pass out in 2k11 nd by then the situation shud improve...Anyways it ur decision..

got a rejection in fore after scoring a hopping 97.43%tile in cat. not even waitlisted. don't knw wht the shit is going on.
i have seen people replying here that fore prople give weightage to personality, communication skills, acads. but 1 of ma collg senior is in fore second year.n at the time of his gd/pi (2 years back), he was far behind in personality, communication skill n acads than what i'm having 2day.
& i have been waitlisted in ximb @ 31, which is far ahead of fore. so if ma personality, soft skills n acads r tht much poor, then i wouldn't have been thr in ximb's waitlist.
neways sorry seniors if i have been rude throughout the reply. but after so many days of results, now also i couldnt able 2 digest this rejection. it's really tough. aftr scoring 97.43%tile in cat. working hard n giving ur best shots in gd/pi. n then getting a straight 4wrd REJECTION !!!!!

well i dont think cat percntile would have created a huge difference ,it was 45% weightage on cat scores in which yuo may be ahead of a 95%ile people by 2-3% in final selection rest 55% you dont know so plz dont comment on that
similar thing happened with me too got 90 in snap and applied for siib(having called peolpe at 63), i thaught it would be cakewalk
and had a great gd/pi but what happened thr was my name was not in first list but was waitlisted so it left a very sour taste,i can understand ur frusatation since i too went with same today even after converted the waitlist call i am not going there (dont even want to look at their name)
but never vented my anger on a public forum so be a little restrained and more happy for ximb than being frusatated at FORE:clap:

Listen,first of all don't think of yourself to be some special Einstein if you have got 97+ percentile.In my opinion all those have managed to get above 90 are equally capable of touching the 98 mark.May be it was a big dent on your ego that you got rejected in spite of having good score.There is no point in coming to this forum and spiting your venom just because you got rejected.Instead of felling happy that you got selected for ximb you are fretting over the fact that how come fore rejected you.Life is tough dear ,even I have been rejected by some colleges.....but that does not mean that I start a big dharna against those colleges.In my final decision to do an mba I may not even do it from India in spite of slogging for cat.Grow up or many more black cat commandos will be ready to shoot down the troublemakers.

Guys lets call a truce, this is childish for the record i have 97.56 and converted my call in fore and for the sake of argument i would also like to add i have rejects from a few colleges which i greatly anticipated. I know there will be a huge dissapointment, but I learnt the only thing is to go forward. All colleges have +ive and -ives lets not harp on a few things
