The two institutes in question are in a different league all together and it does not warrant any debate.

You can refer to the commonly available rankings of b-schools (given by coaching institutes). Hope this helps.

Please REFRAIN from comparing institutes in this forum as PG rules do not allow the same. If you want you can PM any PG members who are actively posting( or guiding ) in various threads for any comparisons.

Look if u will scroll past sone posts of this thread you will find out it just depends on wht kind of college u aspire to b in...
Icfai hyderabad has better infrastructure as well as it is the best college among all icfai colleges...
As far as fore is concerned, it is located in Delhi and has a good brandname..which goes for icfai hyderabad also...
But another matter u have 2 look at is the course...
PGDM AND PGDM(IB) ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT STREAMS...
Pgdm has much wider scope and oppurtunities..
so just make ur own move takin into consideration all the pros and cons....
One of my friend has converted her call in icfai hyderabad and she is gonna join it....

FORE does not provide any laptop....we have to buy it our own....

coz, its IB at FORE

Though I am not senior but I think FORE would be better option because at least you will get a valid degree approved by AICTE... On the basis of fore pgdm degree you can study aroad while I doubt whether ICFAI degree is valid or not because it is not recognised....

Ull get ur letter in a day or two..Anyways the first installment is of 1.75 Lacs...Also some additional deposits(mainly security) of 14,500 Rs r there..If u interested in availing hostel facilities then u have to pay 60,000 Rs per annum and an additional 5,000Rs as security deposit...

Dude tht decision is totally upto u...I gt selected for PGDM nd m leavin my job at TCS as wel...If u r worried abt placement scenario then every other B-Skl is in the same pit...Moreover ull b pass out in 2k11 nd by then the situation shud improve...Anyways it ur decision..

got a rejection in fore after scoring a hopping 97.43%tile in cat. not even waitlisted. don't knw wht the shit is going on.
i have seen people replying here that fore prople give weightage to personality, communication skills, acads. but 1 of ma collg senior is in fore second year.n at the time of his gd/pi (2 years back), he was far behind in personality, communication skill n acads than what i'm having 2day.
& i have been waitlisted in ximb @ 31, which is far ahead of fore. so if ma personality, soft skills n acads r tht much poor, then i wouldn't have been thr in ximb's waitlist.
neways sorry seniors if i have been rude throughout the reply. but after so many days of results, now also i couldnt able 2 digest this rejection. it's really tough. aftr scoring 97.43%tile in cat. working hard n giving ur best shots in gd/pi. n then getting a straight 4wrd REJECTION !!!!!

well i dont think cat percntile would have created a huge difference ,it was 45% weightage on cat scores in which yuo may be ahead of a 95%ile people by 2-3% in final selection rest 55% you dont know so plz dont comment on that
similar thing happened with me too got 90 in snap and applied for siib(having called peolpe at 63), i thaught it would be cakewalk
and had a great gd/pi but what happened thr was my name was not in first list but was waitlisted so it left a very sour taste,i can understand ur frusatation since i too went with same today even after converted the waitlist call i am not going there (dont even want to look at their name)
but never vented my anger on a public forum so be a little restrained and more happy for ximb than being frusatated at FORE:clap:

Listen,first of all don't think of yourself to be some special Einstein if you have got 97+ percentile.In my opinion all those have managed to get above 90 are equally capable of touching the 98 mark.May be it was a big dent on your ego that you got rejected in spite of having good score.There is no point in coming to this forum and spiting your venom just because you got rejected.Instead of felling happy that you got selected for ximb you are fretting over the fact that how come fore rejected you.Life is tough dear ,even I have been rejected by some colleges.....but that does not mean that I start a big dharna against those colleges.In my final decision to do an mba I may not even do it from India in spite of slogging for cat.Grow up or many more black cat commandos will be ready to shoot down the troublemakers.

And please do not reply to my post,be silent and introspect what went wrong as it will help you.

Guys lets call a truce, this is childish for the record i have 97.56 and converted my call in fore and for the sake of argument i would also like to add i have rejects from a few colleges which i greatly anticipated. I know there will be a huge dissapointment, but I learnt the only thing is to go forward. All colleges have +ive and -ives lets not harp on a few things

Feel sorry for you yaar, but the way you have vented your frustration is not good.. Do you mean to say that just because your CAT score was higher you were better than people below you..? Or for the matter lesser than people above you.. All these entrance exams and GD/PI are all about performance on the day.. And the evaluators are not Gods.. Not at FORE neither at IIMs, FMS or any other MBA college.. and how can you be sure that your performance was good..? Do you realise Interview is not just about Q & A, but your attitude.. Maybe you thot you answered well, but your ideas would have been total crap in the evaluators eyes..

And if you blame world instead of trying to find out what you could have done better, nothing will change next time.. Make these your stepping stones and am sure next time you will be getting in IIMs and praising your stars which got you higher than you expected.. In India where for each seat there are 1000 suitable candidates, you have to be good enough besides being lucky enough to be selected..

I am selected in FORE with 96.4% and absolutely crap of an interview.. Got really lucky there.. But lost out on XIMB even with 99.3%, excellent GD and perceptably good PI.. to top it all my folks recently shifted to bhubaneswar.. but in the end its fair enuf.. you lose some, you gain some.. (waitlisted in XIMB)

Not just Sukrit but everyone else, would like to request them not to behave like sore losers and spew venom in the forum against colleges.. Don't prove to colleges that they were right in rejectign you bcoz of your attitude..

The refund is there as per AICTE guidelines...Fore follows tht so don worry bout the same..Stil if u have doubts then u can call up the admission office directly...

do we require to show that we are taking admission anywhere else to get back our fees? or we can just put an application to state we want our fees back

all i can say is that just for the sake of chennai and delhi u cannot compromise on the mba...

All i can say is that fore is a gud college bt PGDM general degree is much more worth it than IB...
So just dnt b skeptical abt Chennai...

Well first of all, u dnt need to worry about hw to adjust in chennai.... because in Mba u dont get time to go out of ur campus, and so it hardly matters in which city you are..your mba life will be confined to ur campus only...
Above all MBA is all about winning in adverse situations... :D

Now about, fore as a college scores better than ifmr in many aspects like (corporate interactions, alumni, market value...etc)... but IB in fore is a relatively new course... So, no 1 except fore (ib) seniors can guide u
....
1 advice, visit campus or search for fore (ib) seniors on orkut....

So from his experience i can assure you that pgdm is anday better than IB...

see bro its up to you to decide what ur aspiration level is...IB is not bad bt also its nt smethn you can just go for without givin a second thought..
Another factor you have to consider is the 8lakh(approx)investment for 2 years..Is it worth it...think cos u dont go 4 mba everyday....

the money can be deposited via draft .....
this draft needs to be handed in the admin block / personally or sum1 can do this on ur behalf / or send via courier

But make sure your draft reaches before 21st ...if not able to deposit before 21st...den ur provisional admission is subject to cancellation

Hey guys just an update about placements at Fore this year.

50% TILL date and for rest of them session will continue till June so that everyone can be placed.Consultants have been hired @ FORE,so that everone gets out with an offer.

If we talk about salaries,average has been around 5 lacs/pa so far.(Thanks to recession).Last year avg claimed by Fore was 8.1 Lacs/annum.
Regarding Summer training,Marketing ppl were lucky but finance ones had a tough time.

All this info has been provided by a senior from Fore.

1 thing..in information regarding hostel it has been written
the monthly rent towards the hostel is Rs. 5000 per head which is inclusive of breakfast and dinner..

hey dude,
do u have ny idea abt the facilities provided in the hostel. I mean wifi, acs and all that(bcoz 5000 is quite high).

as far as wifi is concerend its not available....net connectivity is available but u have to subscribe a particular plan and u have to pay for that....

50% TILL date and for rest of them session will continue till June so that everyone can be placed.Consultants have been hired @ FORE,so that everone gets out with an offer.

If we talk about salaries,average has been around 5 lacs/pa so far.(Thanks to recession).Last year avg claimed by Fore was 8.1 Lacs/annum.
Regarding Summer training,Marketing ppl were lucky but finance ones had a tough time.

As per my knowledge out 210 students(seeking placements) 40 are not placed. Rest of them are placed....this the figure was the figure 1 weak ago... max salary is 10.5 lacs, min- 4lacs.... reast i dont know....

2.Total fees 6 lacs
3.Hostel facilty (rs 5000 per month)

do u have ny idea abt the facilities provided in the hostel. I mean wifi, acs and all that(bcoz 5000 is quite high).

ya right. even I know 2 guys who have been rejected for both pgdm as well as ib course even after having decent %iles.

how many people are waitlisted....
for both courses.......................
First of all they have not mentioned the waiting list numbers to the students that have been waitlisted......
So may be if there are 60 seats in IB for example, they may have
waitlisted 120 students...
so we cannot predict that this wait will ever get over...
giving no waitlist number is not right...
It leads to generation of false hopes in the minds of waitlisted aspirants...
1)Is there anyone who can tell details abt how many students have been waitlisted.....
and
2)whther people in the waitlist have any hope :wow:..
there is also speculation that in IB all the students who are not in the merit have been waitlisted..........
so someone who has the information ....please help..
