@knick have patience for the placement scenario ,there have been some changes regarding psu recruitment, those companies are not visiting any campus for recruitment,so this year placement scenario will be totally different as college will contact other private sector companies.wait for some time we will let u know the clear picture after the placement of our seniors...

ur question is very tricky and difficult to answer ;)..i am making it simple buddy this year cut off for gd pi was 83.8%...and weightage to it,is 50%,rest 50 % is for gd/pi/academics.
theoretically u can convert it at this %ile and then this is the minimum %ile to get admission,practically this is a bit difficult,so better the %ile better the chance to get in.
if u are aiming @cat 2012 ,work hard and get the best out of you,:thumbsup:

5 seats are there in both mba and ib,total 10 seats in paid seat category.there are some vacant seats which are supposed to be filled by general counselling,may b one of ur letter is for that and another for paid seat.

People who have got MBA(IB) and showed their interest in MBA Paid seat have also got calls and approx 17 such students are of this category. So in short u r nearly at rank 26 for 10 seats. There are also few withdrawals which have happened recently. So you can calculate your chances accordingly.

I'm so sorry Gaurav, but PG has some rules and we have to abide by that to maintain the decorum. So, I'll not answer your first question. Please post your query on FB page, I'm ready to answer you suitably, and by the way are you Gaurav Arora, if yes then I'll write a post on FB regarding your question.

Here are rest of the answers.
2. Number of counsellings, show the competitiveness among the students and their faith in the college, as well as demand of that college.
3. FMS-BHU will have third counselling for the 10 paid seats, they are different from the 92 normal seats. Paid seats help government institutions to have some fund along with bright candidates. So that they can meet their expenses, as these institutions have very low fees.

I think that, in a scenario where colleges are not able to fill their seats even after three counsellings, FMS-BHU has done a tremendous job by filling its seats in just two counsellings, and on the top of it, only seven seats were up for grab in the 2nd counselling. As we all know that, only CAT score doesn't decide your merit at FMS-BHU, your academic details as well as your GD/PI score are also taken into account. If you are regularly following FB page of FMS-BHU aspirants then you would find out that in 2nd counselling guys with 90+ %tile(almost all, you can check the authenticity of this information at FB page) have converted MBA-IB and yes, the cut-off too has increased marginally. In 2011, it was 83.58 and in 2012, it was 83.8.

Sorry to interrupt but I guess CAT score of atleast 90 percentile is needed to get a call for GD PI. This year the cutoff of general catagory was 88 percentile. Since BHU is gradually getting recognised hence cutoff is supposed to go upward.

This year it was 83.8%tile and yes, you are right, the cut-off has shown marginal increment w.r.t. last year.

Last admission in MBA IB in First Counseling was at less than or equal to 85%ile for GEN.
& Admission went till Merit list 100+ for GENERAL Cateogory for 46(23+23) seats. A couple seats in MBA IB were left unfilled after 1st counselling.

It wasnt that much. GEN cutoff for GD/PI was a 83.8 i guess.
And cutoff hasnt gone upward in past couple of years.
